  1. All parties in the election should make their positions clear in their manifestos.
  2. I listened to a radio debate before the match on Saturday about this featuring some journailsts who aren't well favoured here or amongst Rangers fans in general, one of whom obviously doesn't understand the meaning of strict liability. The debate appears to be polarising between those who think that it doesn't matter what anyone sings inside a football stadium/ the only people who are offended are those who want to be offended etc; and those in the strict liability camp who think that such offensive behaviour has no place in modern society and a club should be responsible for any offensive behaviour within their stadia and be punished accordingly perhaps by docking points etc. It's blatantly obvious that there is an increasing tendency to ignore the law/ test the police and prosecuting authorities on this issue and it's time the SG made up their minds and took a strong position on one side of the fence or the other.
  3. It's perfectly obvious to me, it's his raincoat
  4. Aird can go on loan back to Canada anytime, he was decent in the third and fourth division but he's not good enough to get a game at this level never mind the SPL or Europe and as a reserve WB he's only keeping Sinammon out of the team.
  5. With respect, that's a different situation, BD. Mark Hately told me that it took him nearly a season with Rangers to regain his confidence when coming back from injury, it's a psychological fear of re-doing the same injury and being out for longer.
  6. I took that into account in my reply
  7. Shocking behaviour.......
  8. You could be right about that it's been near 20C here today and some folk have been out sun bathing, I stick with the straight vino tinto rioja or brandy espanol. Salute
  9. You're a lazy SOB dB, take 10 secs to look that up I don't think it matters what size you are a kick is a kick and hurts just as much.
  10. I was fortunate to see Jim Forrest in his prime and seem to remember him scoring 5 or 6 in a 7-0 at Hamilton one day. I don't think there was much to chose between them as strikers but Ally has to get it for longevity and his all time record. On the subject of DJ and his fondness for a refreshment. In the summer of 1978 I stayed in the same Benidorm hotel as DJ and a certain Roy Aitken. It would be no exaggeration to say that DJ was on the vodka lemons from breakfast till the early hours, to the extent that he couldn't score a goal past me at the pool side. At that point I had served three seasons as a Linseman and was hopeful of promotion to referee the Reserves. I told DJ that if he carried on the way he was doing, I would go up and he would go down. So it came to pass I got my promotion and refereed a game where he and Gregor Stevens formed the Rangers Reserves central defence. There was at least one night when he was out indulging his fancy and his then wife locked him out the room. I recall one night in the Scotsman Bar, Derek, with a row of vodka lemons lined up in formation in front of him, borrowed my pen to write an autograph "To the greatest Partick Thistle supporter in the world" which the astonished and equally inebriated recipient said he would display in a certain bar on the Maryhill Road. I never saw Roy Aitken take anything stronger than an ice cream.
  11. Who scored 13 goals in a team of underperformers.
  12. If Law was dross last year and still managed to be our leading scorer with 13 goals AND 9 assists i.e. he scored or assisted a score in 40% of the matches he played in, then it's unfortunate that we didn't have more dross players like him or we would have gone up in a canter. That Bermuda sun or the rum punch must be getting to you, Sir.
  13. In one of our CL campaigns (I think it was 2009/10 but will stand to be correct on the season) Naismith was the most fouled player of any team in the group stages, it never affected his confidence; it just depends on your make up and confidence in your own ability.
  14. He just turned 21 on 30 December. As MW pinted out he's played all season up to then as a 20 yr old!
  15. I don't see how you can say that. Law was our top goalscorer last season, with 13 goals and had 9 assists in 54 games, how many players gave us a better return? This season, he's been in and out the team with injury and Zelalem being preferred initially. He's only 28 in March and has demonstrated the difference he makes in the last three games, not least the first half on Saturday. Unlike Zelalem, he almost always passes forward. If he gets a run in the team for the full 90 minutes, I believe he will become a regular scorer again. He's also one of the very few players we have who is proven at SPL level. He deserves at least 2 year deal with an option.
  16. You said he would make it at that or higher level but essentialy you and others claim he wan't allowed to play here; my point is that it will be harder for him to perform at that level, not easier. He can beat players who don't tackle all night but that doesn't make him a football player.
  17. Dinner is after the Falkirk game on the 30th, mate, so if your circumstances may be different on that date you'll be very welcome. Also please note earlier posts #75 & 79 by Craig and rbr which may be helpful. PM me if I can assist in any way.
  18. He'll get a much tougher time in League Two in England than ever he got up here.
  19. I don't believe that Oduwa will make it as a professional football player at any level in the English senior leagues.
  20. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?75097-Rangers-4-Livingston-1-%28Wilson-Waghorn-2-Miller%29/page8 Hello, Pete, strike one for BH I'd say
