  1. Right now, I'm on a high with the Dinner so all I will say is that my allegiance is, was and always will be, 100% to Rangers Football Club; something I have demonstrated and will continue to demonstrate in more ways than I care to share on this web site. As for King's investment, I have quoted his comments; you and others can try to spin them any way you want; but they're pretty plain to me.
  2. After further discussions with the restaurant owner we will need to restrict to a maximum of 33/34 sitting down for dinner. At this stage it is not clear whether or not our guests will be staying for dinner (might depend on how much they enjoy the company) so we can only sell a maximum of 32 tickets. We have 11 paid as of now, meaning we only have 21 left to sell. I don't want any existing member to be disappointed, so I urge anyone who is thinking of going to buy thier tickets asap and certainly before we open it to the other enquiries on Monday night. Based on the feedback I've had up to now, I'm not in any doubt this will be a sell out, so please don't come begging me for a ticket later on.
  3. 11/01/2016 colinstein £30.00 BALANCE £234.15 08/01/2016 BLUEDELL £15.00 BALANCE £204.15 That's another 3 paid; total now paid 11.
  4. Thanks, look out for PM reply shortly but I'm a popular boy today, so you'll need to wait your turn!
  5. Quite agree, though it would be quite remiss of colinstein not to attend and give me the opportunity of saying will the real Colin Stein please stand up. At least you're not suggesting that the classics will get in your way this time CS.
  6. I stand corrected but the way it's shown is confusing at best: Board Of Directors The responsibility of the Board, inter alia, is to provide leadership of the Company within a framework of prudent and effective controls which enable risks to be managed and assessed, set the Company’s strategic aims and ensure that the necessary financial and human resources are in place for the Company to meet its objectives and set the Company’s values and standards. The Directors are responsible for formulating, reviewing and approving the Company’s strategy, budget and major items of capital expenditure. The Company holds regular board meetings. Prior to each board meeting, directors are sent an agenda and Board papers as appropriate for matters to be discussed. Dave King Chairman and Director | Appointed 18 May 2015 John Bennett Director | Appointed 10 March 2015 John Gilligan Director | Appointed 6 March 2015 Paul Murray Director | Appointed 6 March 2015 Graeme Park Director | Appointed 3 August 2015 James Blair Company Secretary | Appointed 9 March 2015 In any event, the principles are the same and I don't consider that he has a conflict being a member of the Board of RF and Rangers International at the same time. As a solicitor, I would be shocked if he didn't stand down from one of the roles or at least recuse himself from any relevant discussion if he considered such a conflict arose. This does not affect my other comments and concerns.
  7. As a result of exposure on social media, we have had considerable outside interest in the dinner; but have decided to give existing site members priority. Therefore we are open for priority bookings from site members and their bona fide guests up until 6.00pm this Monday night 11 January 2016. Thereafter, we will accept bookings from non members. Under the circumstances whilst we appreciate expressions of interest, we really need all bookings to be paid up front. As a reminder, the previous bank details continue to apply and newbies please PM me for details (apologies that my box is currently full but will be cleared shortly). Edit: for the avoidance of doubt - "bookings" means paid bookings.
  8. 08/01/2016 JOHNNYK £15.00 BALANCE £189.15 08/01/2016 CHARLTONMAN £30.00 BALANCE £174.15 08/01/2016 FRANKIE £15.00 BALANCE £144.15 08/01/2016 FRANKIE £15.00 BALANCE £129.15 That's another 5 paid, total now 8 paid; only 27 seats left.
  9. James Blair is listed as a Director of the Club Company Secretary | Appointed 9 March 2015 http://rangers.co.uk/club/investor-centre/board/board-of-directors/ At the risk of being tarred with the same brush as Mr Bowman, who I do not know though I may have attended the same early meetings, let me say straight off that I immediately voted against the loan for two reasons: This is not the purpose for which the money is being donated to RF The loan as proposed is unsecured. The money has been donated to RF to buy shares in the Club, not to lend the Club money in the hope that some day that loan will be converted into shares. IIRC there was also a suggestion that at some point (after a 5% holding had been achieved) monies might be offered to the Club for specific projects, thereby increasing fans influence, which I think has always been the realistic objective rather than outright ownership. In my opinion it was irresponsible of the Board of RF (or such elements of the Board as made the decision) even to ballot the members on such a proposal, particularly so when it is clear that there was serious division amongst them and apparently the Club neither sought nor agreed to accept the monies. In these circumstances exactly how might RF proceed, if the proposal were to be carried? As a former main board member of SD and Chair of SDS, I have some knowledge of these matters and do not consider that James Blair has a conflict of interest in his two roles, since both should have broadly the same objective i.e. the well being of the Club. That said, it is a difficult horse to straddle, because of the confidentiality of boardroom discussions and the concept of collective responsibility. It is a rightful objective of football club trusts and CIC's like RF to "have a man on the board" but once that man gets there, it is easy for him or her to forget or be compelled to transfer their primary allegiance. Rather than accuse Mr Bowman of grandstanding, I very much regret to say that this looks like a piece of grandstanding by RF; one that has badly backfired.
  10. That's blatantly obvious, I'd say.
  11. This is a very sensible synopsis in my view and there is no question but that King said "I would probably have to put in £30m of the £50m over the period of time". I have never argued otherwise.
  12. Firstly, the fact that I said I thought L&L were doing a good job at the time I said it i.e. prior to the fiasco with the RFB, does not imply support for Ashley and in any event has nothing whatsoever to do with King's funding or the lack of it. Secondly I don't need to choose the upper end, King himself stated: "But I would say I would probably have to put in £30m of the £50m over the period of time. And I could probably get other people to put in £20m. ‘Would I be willing to invest £30m despite what happened previously? Of course. Sure.’ Which bit of the above quote is it that you don't understand? Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...#ixzz3wdEMMD2Z
  13. Great poster Frankie, can you send me a pdf for the restaurant to put up on the night, thanks.
  14. I wasn't making any comparison with the previous regime; just expressing some concern about the current funding arrangements.
  15. OK "more than £20m.......up to £50m"; I'd say £30m falls within that range. But I would say I would probably have to put in £30m of the £50m over the period of time. And I could probably get other people to put in £20m. ‘Would I be willing to invest £30m despite what happened previously? Of course. Sure.’ Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2588429/Dave-King-commit-30m-ensure-Rangers-return-Scottish-Premiership.html#ixzz3wdEMMD2Z
  16. Interesting as Toumani Diagouraga (29 in June) and Matt Crooks both appear to be defensive midfielders though the latter has also played at CB. Even more interesting is that his reported salary is 581,400 EUR (2013) .
  17. If you're referring to the launch of RF, then aside from a brief appearance at the first meeting and lending SDS's address, PG had precious little to do with it. The real expert behind it was former St Mirren director, Richard Atkinson. I can assure you that Mr Goodwin is persona non grata at Hampden Park. He may get a very occasional audience for appearances sake but beyond that his organisation is of no consequence.
  18. The SFSA is an organisation set up and run by Paul Goodwin after he was "let go" by Supporters Direct following complaints from Hibernian and Kilmarnock, supported by Doncaster and Regan, hitherto supporters of SD. Membership is free, so claiming almost 50,000 members is meaningless. His sidekick Simon Barrow describes himself as a "practical theologian, commentator, journalist, NGO consultant, adult educator and trainer". He is a co-director of the religion and society think tank Ekklesia. http://www.ekklesia.co.uk/about/staff Surprisingly or not depending on your view point, neither are listed in the organisation structure or advisory group. http://scottishfsa.org/about-sfsa/organisation-structure/ Despite lengthy CV's on LinkedIn, neither appear to be gainfully employed. In football terms they are nobodies and the SFA/SPFL will give them the time they deserve, which is none at all.
  19. It might be part of it because these loans are guaranteed to be converted to equity but the terms of the conversion have not been disclosed (so far as I am aware) and of course would be dependent on the share price at the time if not guaranteed at the time of the loan. One way or another it would give RF a greater say in the Club's affairs and the suspicion might be that the directors would not welcome that.
  20. Wasn't x = £30m or am I not allowed to say that? Has anyone added up how much he has actually put in to date?
  21. Let's not get carried away with this, the attendance will sort itself out.
  22. Did he put up £3.25m of the recent £6.5m?
  23. We'll miss your cheery face, rbr; how about changing your flight back or would that be too expensive?
