Well, we can obviously put our heads in the sand. Never change a running system and all that. But it ain`t running for a good few games. At least not as good as it could be. Getting three points today would have been daylight robbery. The game was begging for another striker and some more creativity and solidity. We got the latter with Jack and Davis late on, but as per usual replaced our striker with a striker, who was again unsuppported by Aribo (who was at times doing the right-back job) and, to some extent by Kent, who was on the wings. The latter, as I have said before, is untouchable and no matter what people will say in his defence, he simply needs to score more goals from the good chances he creates. That`s IMHO not happening and thus sending Roofe on for him to support Itten (who was good) should have been the order of the day. Aribo should have been hooked for Wright earlier, Hagi on. Hindsight is wonderful, but this is not the first time we laboured far more than we need and ought to. -

Going by the high-balls and headers, they also don't like their pitch. First touches a wee bit off with some, Tav since his penalty miss somewhat off form, pass/cross- and free-kick-wise. -

The next few games might be interesting. Us away to Accies and at home Killie & the Arabs, the Scum at home to Motherwell, then away to St. Mirren and St. Johnstone, home to the Sheep then away to Ross County. -
Clubs should demand to be part of the discussions about any penalties afterwards. It would be easy enough to call the sporting director et al, so a club representative will know how a verdict came to place, and get a report on that. Likewise, clubs should know which ex-referees decide upon the incidents (does not have to be public), so a "pattern" can be avoided. After all, all three referees have to agree whether a punishment is required or not. And if someone time and again objects re Scum players, well ... Any "incident" in any game should be reviewed, not just those picked upon by the m(h)edia. And if an incident is deemed inconclusive, there should also be a written report and the names of the "object-ers" given. A quick glance at the disciplinary pages of the SFA show that there are lots of bans in the lower leagues, down to the Women game. You do wonder how that can happen, yet games and incidents of the Premiership with SPFL cameras there at various angles (hence the highlights) are ignored. In essence, all clubs should demand a stop on that procedure, unless it become at least as transparent as is noted above. Regarding Roofe`s challenge. It was poor, and reckless. Could easily have broken the chap`s ankle. If it was our player on the receiving end, why would call for blood. The point remains that if such a challenge by our player is "revaluated", so too should be other challenges ON our players, or anyone else's, for that matter.

I moan nearly every week that we have 5 subs nowadays and hardly use them. Results will always be held against that note and weaken the argument, but we usualy throw on more than one or two subs only when we are 3 or 4 up. Even if the machine is not running smoothly, we hardly ever do much more than replace like for like, striker with striker and CM with CM. That, BTW, is just a plain observation. -

First ... and lets set this straight for good. To the best of my knowledge, neither me nor any of my present and former relatives have peed into your garden, thrown a towel on your beach chair nor faced any of your relatives in the Wars, unless your relatives fought amongst the Soviet army. So if you want to pick on "a fight" with a German, do it elsewhere. Second, you seem to have some strange need to throw Kyle Hutton*, prerogative and "Doesn't mean it isn't true." my way in every other debate about a player. Irrational to the core. I have no problem if others see it differently to me, yet you need to drag trash from 8 years ago up about a player who is diametrically opposite to Kent. It is quite strange that Jones, Barker and Co. get it in the neck every week, yet when someone questions the qualities or performances of Tav or Kent or Aribo in a given match or series of matches, the defenders jump top the fore and talk about "boo boys" and people see need to "see something "negative all the time". Heck, do you actually read what is written? Apparently not. * Told you previous discussion on him that while he might have given his best when picked (and we clearly saw it differently), he behaved like a nerd towards Rangers fans at the time and likewise played like an animal against us every time he faced up with us on the way through the leagues. At times, it put even Kirk Broadfoot to shame. Perhaps you deem that okay? -

Brown escapes any punishment, as does the linesman for his double-error re the offside decision and handing the penalty to the Scum, yet ... Fast Track Notice of Complaint | Albian Ajeti, Player, Celtic FC Thursday 4 February 2021 Player: Albian Ajeti, Celtic FC Match: Kilmarnock FC v Celtic FC Date: Tuesday 2 February 2021 Competition: Scottish Premiership Disciplinary Rule allegedly breached: Disciplinary Rule 201: No player shall cause a match official to make an incorrect decision and/or support an error of judgment on the part of a match official by an act of simulation which results in that player’s team obtaining a Substantial Advantage. Any Fast Track Notice of Complaint alleging a breach of this Rule shall be Determined by a Fast Track Tribunal subject to the provisions of Section 13. Fast Track Tribunal Hearing: Monday 8 February 2021 https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish-fa/football-governance/disciplinary/disciplinary-updates/ Which essentially means nothing, if they see no case. This would be the first time for about 2 years that they charge a Scum player.

That is a very neat example of seeing things black and white, i.e. essentially saying that I am biased untowards Kent. And that`s rubbish. People can have opinions about players that are simply down to said players' current form or performance levels. Or to turn this on its head, if someone says something against "everyone`s darling Kent", that someone is seemingly "biased". Not that I explained what I want from Kent and the gaffer before. Same as last couple of seasons with Tavernier. I don`t "pick" on certain players for fun, but ask for a certain level of consistency in their performance levels. Like Goldson, Kamara and others, Tavernier has been performing well enough and kept that level throughout the campaign. Kudos for that from me. That does not mean that one can`t lament his performances of the last couple of years. Same with Kent. Yes, he does a lot of work for the team, has his goals and assists. Yet (obviously there is a yet), there are games (like yesterday's) where he is hardly as effective as a left-sided attacker than he can be and should be. Remarking on that is no character assassination or bias against him. He sure does what he is asked to do, as some have said, but how will we know if someone else can`t do it better? Maybe some really like our left sided attack as it stands, keep Kent where he is and laugh off any suggestion about Jones, Middleton or even Barker. Or Murphy at the beginning of last season. Obviously, it is usually the same people laughing at that suggestion of the aforementioned players instead of Kent which are those who can see no fault in Kent`s displays, which gives you some clue. Anyway, SG has chosen to use Kent no matter what, we win games and that`s that. Only the future will know whether Wright gets a fair crack at it or whether we will use Roofe or Morelos on the left alongside a central striker. -

See, I`m not arguing against any of that and the results and figures tell their own story. We perform, draw, lose and win as a team, as per usual. That doesn`t mean we can`t or shouldn`t change things that can be changed if they are not yielding the end products their role/slot "demands". Perhaps it was Kent`s job to stay "anonymous" for the best part of the 2nd half in terms of attacking display, but harass people and folk on his side and draw defenders away from the "hot spots". As soon as St. Johnstone went behind, they opened up and tried to play attacking football. And you would have hoped that that`s the time when our attackers find their spaces and use their qualities. In all honesty, I didn`t see much of that. I know it is lamenting on a high level, we won, and all is fine. There still is a nagging feeling that the odd change might have eased the tension at the end quite a bit though. @ Frankie ... nah, as I said above, it is not just black and white when it comes to opinions about players. I`m not exactly suggesting Kent needs to be chopped or the like. On the other hand, he should not be the sole exception even if he is not up to his game or his qualities are not "needed" at a given game. Some players seem to have that "untouchable" aura about him with supporters. -

Not at all ... it ain`t just black and white. You just see what Aribo and Roofe and Hagi bring to our attack for all their time on the field and look for similar performances from others too. And if they don´t, you ask why they are kept on. IMHO, Kent was far from "absolutely fine". -

A win`s a win, but it could and should have been better. About 85 mins of the "shadow Kent" again ... yet he plays through. Another opportunity missed for those on the bench. -
This is not the Rangers, but the General Football discussion board. Thus, we keep Gersnet clean. That aside, if it isn`t talked about, highlighted and remarked upon, they will go on and on with it. That said, it should be football players (and their union), managers and co. calling out the failings in above`s match and others.

Indeed. Wonder whether that linesman was there at last season`s league cup final.

Was it mentioned 367 times by Crocker? I think not. Perhaps once or twice. Yet, that naughty BBC chap who wrote this during the live text will soon get the appropriate letter: Tshibola got his due from Clancy soon after https://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/55845524/page/3 Killie boss Fowler afterwards ... Livi on a good run, but dreary me, Aberdeen wasted every chance to get close to the Scum in 2021. Not seen the highlights yet, but from the soundbites on FF, the Scum had more than a fair share of good fortune and help from the specsavers union tonight. Brown might have been off for an elbow 2 mins before he scores, they get a penalty from a dive and Edouard then scores from an offside position ... but will have to see that first before any further comment. Funnily enough, over here in Germany, a cup game between Borussia Dortmund vs lowly Paderborn, 2-1 and in the last embers of the 4 mins of extra time, the ball gets into the Dortmund area, initial shouts for a hand-ball, then a guy goes down during the clearance. The cleared ball gets up to Haaland, who puts it away, 3-1 all in one go. But VAR was signalled ... and flagged the penalty area incident. The ref watches it again, no hand-ball, but the clearance almost halves a Paderborn attacker without touching the ball. Penalty, 3-1 goal chopped, instead it is 2-2 and ET. Dortmund snatch an ET winner. Wonder what it had made of a game like today at Rugby Park though.
