Woeful conditions on the park and above it. Funny how Craigan and Rae tried their best to play our game down ... wonder if they remembered that the Scum were lucky to have 11 players on the pitch midweek, scored from a penalty that the had-to-be-dismissed player drew and yet also only managed to win 4-1 against 10 men. Hm ... Hope Clyde bomb them out tomorrow! As for us, it was ragged, but the conditions didn't help. Too many loose balls and mishit passes, to much neat footwork and inter-play when a shot would have been better, Glad for Halliday and Stewart, 2 fine servants, getting game time and an assist to go with it.

Wasn't that this season? -

Thing is that there must be a way to go after referees who - as much as last season as this - are not only incosnistent, but clearly act partially too. That is distortion of competition as we get players banned and injured by inept or unqualified refereeing time and again, or, like last season, have a dozen charges against our players by the CO, whereas the Scum goes without a single charge. The SFA or SPFL is unwilling / unable to act, so it would be UEFA or even FIFA to look into this. -

Too bad that Jack was out, methinks he controlled the last games vs Hibs better than we did yesterday. He also strides forward every now and then. As for Hagi, I see him more as a "threat" to Davis once Jack is back in action. He'd probably play further up the field too, while balls from the deep come from Goldson and Jack. -

IMHO, Kent has the pace and the trickery to play in and near a main striker. I would not play him as a straight left winger though. I'd try him more centrally with a bit of freedom to move about, not least in games where we do not need 2 holding / defensive midfielders. Get Jones on the wing instead. For some reason we do not utilize the second striker / shadow striker role efficiently enough. In nigh every game there is space between the penalty spot and the goalie that ain't occupied by an attacker when the ball runs loose from a save, failed clearance or the like. It need not to be an outright-poacher. Jason Holt ran in there brilliantly in his first season with us, before being played ever deeper. IMHO, a perfect spot for Stewart. We sure need someone that is willing to shoot. Hagi did that, Stewart at every angle. Too much play in the first half was build-up and attempts at playing through them, rather than having a shot. Same story in the last 3 games in fact. Of course, no-one would talk about this had Aribo and Alfredo sunk their efforts. Still, why does it need games like yesterday - when the going gets tough and the minutes become enemies - that we change formations and throw real attackers on. -

The clip from the SPFL higlights doesn't show it in the right angle, the below one does. That the ref does not issue a red card is astonishing, that the shadow cabal of the CO does not ban him for that after watching it in slow motions reeks of distortion of competition. Had Alfredo done that, he'd be watching on from the sidelines for quite some time. -

Only the second time I quoted you and you again essentially go ballistic. Its not that we know us for about ... eternity. Whatever caused your aggressivness, leave it out on a tree or something. No matter how after you tell us it is Rangers' fault, it won't change a thing here. -

Now calm down a bit, we got your point. Who knows what the club does. Voice your anger with them or write to FIFA, UEFA or whatever. -

One should be happy and celebrating ... but what a farce this idiot made of the game. Not even the basic stuff went right but he strides full of pomp to their coach and books him. Which means feck all. Such buffons like him and even Hugh Dallas' son make a mockery of the game. Hagi, what a gem. Barasic great too, Alfredo working his socks off and having no luck. -

You think you've seen it all before, but every week, another clown turns up in black colours and tries to outdo his predecessors. The same mad(d)ness caused him to ignore the foul at the other end, the foul he gave against Edmundson and the one of McGregor to help them score. Then ignore foul after foul against us too. You would hope someone of our managament staff tell him a few words. We huffed and puffed throughout the half, too many creators, too little takers and people having a go. IMHO, we could make a straight change in Stewart replacing Aribo. -

Farcical stuff from Madden. -
Irritating, but not unforgivable. I do expect the club will voice its concern with the SFA and its refs regularly, but most likely not in public. Nor will it announce any reply it gets from the SFA et al in public either. Which obviously leaves us with no info whatsoever. This is actually a point the supporters liason guy should work on, i.e. relate our concerns directly to the club and then tell about replies. Not that we've been saying this since about forever ... i.e. the concerns with the refereeing standards and impartialities.
-
On Saturday eve I wondered what father Dallas might have said to his son. If we have a CO to hare after players, why do the SFA or the clubs do not "invent" a position to go after referees if they do not see ( ignore important things, disregard the rulebook or flash cards that are not validated. As it stands, the quality and standard is beyond joke and there is apparently no way to increase it. You actually do wonder whether there is a working board of referees or the like, who check out the individual p(h)erformances?

Knowing the standards of stewarding here at football and ice hockey, it beggars belief that such stuff enters the stadium, no matter which. By default, the SFA and/or SPFL should take the clubs to question and fine them. -
match thread (image) [FT] Rangers 0 - 0 Aberdeen
der Berliner replied to JohnMc's topic in Rangers Chat
That is essentially it. Teams have checked our tactics for half a season, saw how Aribo, Kent and Co. operated and now act accordingly. Some better, some not. And Aberdeen usually give us a tough ride, no matter who we play. Thus, Saturday - given our recent form - was very much to be expected. Barasic and Polster did overlap well enough and Polster in particular showed some neat flashes of skill too. Once we are on the front foot, we usually have 2 CHs at the back and 5 or 6 guys in mdifield, only that in the final third the end product is missing. What bothers me is that we time and again try to pass our way into goal rather than having a shot from distance. Arfield and Kent tried some, but far too often Aribo and Ojo try to outsmart the 3 or 4 guys in front of them and eventually lose the ball or it gets deflected and cleared. This happened all season, mind you, only that Alfredo dug us out time and again. Obviously, we are all tactical geniuses and know how to do things better ... yet you would hope that either we play people able to shot and do the tricky bit stuff like Stewart instead of the odd defender or DM, or we apply some more pressure by shooting from outsider the area, which would be Kent's, Arfield's, Davis' and Jones job. BTW, when did Tav score his last goal with a rasping shot or free-kick ... much like he did in his 1st season? Wonder what happened to his accuracy. Haven't listened and read SG's post match comments ... and probably won't do it ... simply to not getting more frustrated.
