SPL titles: Would you mind if they were stripped?

If they indeed find us guilty, can we sue the SFA/SPL for neglect of duties? -
SPL titles: Would you mind if they were stripped?
der Berliner replied to andy steel's topic in Rangers Chat
I for one hope that we fight this all the way. With the way the SFA & SPL has handled all things Rangers there is a good chance that if they bring indeed something up, it can be defeated pretty easily in court. Obviously, we should figh this for the sole reason that the lawyers who did the initial research are also those of Celtic, thus there's conflict of interest if ever there was one. Furthermore, we should want any single "double contract" being examines for misuse and want to know whether said player actually had any impact on the field of play. And, of course, we should demand that each and every team should be investigated too, not just for EBTs, but image rights stuff et al too. Else, we should sue for damage of image and the use of double standards. -
The spinning of lies regarding the newco, EBTs et al
der Berliner replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
... yes, that would be useful for the current media culprits. But we need to make statements on behalf of the club and the support, statements based of facts. -
You mean that the whole deal falls through, Rangers will be bought by Smith & McColl, who whip up another "newco" which then applies to the SPL again and ... oh wait, it is mid July. Anything that resets the current process will most surely see us out of the Scottish game for at least a season ... for simple grounds of technicalities. That would be a quicker end to Rangers FC than Division 3, methinks.

How best to tackle this? I already asked the Rangers media folk to make a definite statement on this on the club's website / the history section. Today the BBC went on today with ... Where does fact end and fiction starts. We sure need to make sure that fiction is not taking over facts, which is hard to explain to some fellow people who do believe that the BBC is still one of the finest news station out there in the world - which probably holds true in many ways. While it is in some ways correct to use the term newco when it comes to technicalities, the lax use for Rangers as such is not. Hence we should challenge it at every corner. Much like the phrase "relaunched". As far as I know, the "club" was not "liquidated", nor was the "club" "founded anew". But how best to explain the difference between club and corporate entity with facts and figures, when you find the terms intermixed even in Rangers publications or the official club logo? Regarding the EBTs, can we put together a list of years when the EBTs were used and what sort/time of EBT use is actually being challenged by HMRC? For I see reports claiming that we used them for financing the 9IAR era and to keep "pace with Celtic" ... which is utterly absurd (not least since they got a 50m injection by Desmond in that era). Somesuch must be tackled head on and with as many facts (with sources) as possible. Else the lies will take over.

Mind you, my first live game was the CSKA Moscow one in Bochum in 1992. After all, the Wall only came down a few years previous.

Incidentally, I essentially join the legions when McCoist signed up. "Joined" from behind the Iron Curtain, listening to the German version of the BBC World Service each Saturday evening from 7.36 pm (German time) onwards. A wee bit later I noted that they actually had the Saturday afternoon football ive programme with Paddy Feeney as presenter and sometimes snippet of Bob Crampsie (sp?) et al. So I'm of the Dawson, Paterson, Iain Ferguson, McKinnon, Cooper and Prytz era, when it comes to "starters". My unsung hero at the time was Stuart Munro.

(Can people please inlcude links to these statements, so one can bookmark them for later reference?!)

Now that we are in the bowels of Scottish football, suspending us from the cup would further hampering us. And since they apparently can't be asked for paying the prizce too by sending us down and out of reach of the money-men, somesuch woud not stop them.

Will Traynor and his lot travel with his fellow scribblers to Annan, Elgin or Berwick? I think not. But I hope that should they ever try to set a foot into Ibrox again, they will be asked to pay an entrance fee, press card or not. For we should be handing out accreditations solely to impartial and neutral people.

Ahem, no? Either they do not get it or they are willing to make this rubbish fact by repeating it often enough.

Giovanni Di Stefano - To buy Rangers FC PLC?
der Berliner replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
That would be the company founded in 1899, the corporate entity behind the football club. That has changed by now and that corporate entity right now has no football club, unless it buys it from the current owners. -
Recollections From the tender age of 8 years old, it's easy to recall, The day my brother set me on the Ibrox terrace wall, Wearing my first Rangers scarf, bright red and white and blue, That day will live until I die and I'll follow the flag of blue. Since then I followed the Teddy Bears, all around the world. The greatest sides I can recall, that league flag being unfurled. It flew above the Ibrox stand, for every fan to view, Below there stood proud legions who all wore red, white and blue. Each time I walk down Copland road that memory I recall, There's Millar, Brand, McMillan too, Telfer and McColl, Shearer, Scott and Stevenson, goalkeeper Georgie Niven, Young captain Eric Caldow, Davie Wilson now re-liven. Sitting there upon the wall I saw the flag unfurled, Above the famous Rangers team, the finest in the world, My heart aglow at Rangers' show, a vision in my view, Before my eyes with banners high Glaswegians wearing blue. Around the ground the Bears all sang, so play before them flew, As Rangers ran around the park, the legions stood salute. I thanked my brother many times for taking me that day, Way down along the Copland Road to see the Rangers play, Down along the Copland Road to see the Rangers play. Bought the MC with that song in the late 1980s and for some reason, the tune stuck with me all day. Those heroes sung about here were legends way before my time and I assume we all have our own to include in the list. I just hope the support remembers who we are, what we are, and we all will see this great club through these next difficult years.

Leggat - Regans' New Attack On Rangers Revealed
der Berliner replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Green should have a lawyer around when Regan demands it and wants this signed. Next day he can sue him/the SFA for coercion. -
The longer this drags on, the more trouble it will cause, not least with the fixture schedule.

What's "Newco Rangers"?
-
Ahem ... there is someone there who rescued him. They are the same club, the same fans, the same drawing power - just a new corporate entity behind them. Can the same be said of Livingston, Gretna et al. When the aforementioned sides went bankrupt, the loss to Scottish football - with all due respect - irrelevant. What they do at the top is essentially comparing us to the liquidation of Third Lanark and a totally new club wanting to enter. Anyway, we know who is to bame for these shambles, both the culprits at Ibrox and the authorities.

And the spartiates all died back then. That said, almost all Spartans are dead too. Oh wait ...
-
Have Spartans qualified in any way for the SFL?
-
A quote I found always true in my 40odd years os far is: "Only fools and dead never change their opinion!" I changed my initial ,sceptical opinion on wikipedia long ago. Which is not to say I take all what is on their on face value either.

Will Celtic fans' beliefs disintegrate once the gloating is over?
der Berliner replied to calscot's topic in Rangers Chat
That would require an IQ higher than that of a dead rat. So the short answer is: No! -
So in essence, Regan will use his trump card and suspend us for one season, so he can sort out "the mess we created" ...

The Glasgow Rangers Administration â?? a status quo.
der Berliner replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
I pointed this out before. Marching to the SFA HQ is one thing and it will sure get some media attention. What needs to be done is talking to Regan's superiors and people who can extort pressure on him and his lot. Be that UEFA, FIFA, the Ministry of Sport (if there is somesuch) and even the Ministry of Defence (for constantly ighnoring existing anti terrorist law with regard to the Celtic supports signing and behaviour). You just have to look at Regans twitter behaviour to get enough points to "attack" him, not to mention his close ties to Lawwwell and general behaviour towards us, the SFA sanctions et al.
