As someone who has a vested interest in the AGM proxy voting, Paul Murray has every right to question the source of the BBC's information (if true). As PM pointed out (i think) the source could only be RFC or Capita. RFC should rightly be releasing a statement concerning the BBC report, but they should be supporting PM not attacking him. They should be questioning the BBC as to their source. I fear the reason they aren't is that they know the source & they know that the info is potentially untrue anyway. All this does is raise more questions about the current board & their media involvement.....
-
It's not what PM says....its just his general tone and mannerism I find similar.
-
I always think he sounds like Craig Whyte.....
-
I think the only teams big enough to temp him away from Ceptic would be Barca or Real Madrid - anything else would be beneath a man of his undouted talent
-
Are Spurs big enough for Lenny???

That is why you have a squad!!!! When was the last time Lionel Messi complained about being tired??? That wee chap gets kicked from pillar to post (I believe he's jealous of the treatment Temps gets) every week, but he gets up & dusts himself down & gets on with it. Some of our players get injured lifting a chicken wing @ Nandos....
-
Lets be honest....how hard are these guys REALLY pushing their bodies week in, week out??? I was watching some of the Nordic Skiiing @ the weekend - These guys were doing a 7.5k sprint, then collapsing @ the finishing line due to the effort they were putting in. I don't know how often they race, but when they do they certainly give it their all. There are plenty of sports out there that require far higher fitness levels than footballers, they get paid buttons and work 10 x harder. We're roughly about 1/2 through the season, and they need a break???

From the SFA/SPFL & a business stand point they are not in control of the club. They can raise EGM's etc in exactly the same way as any other shareholder responsible for 5%+ shareholding ie. The Requisitioner's. Any person they "place" on the board IS under the jurisdiction of the SFA/SPFL, but not the actual holding company. As I have previously stated Mad Vlad @ Hearts held all the power & shares, yet did not hold a place on the board....therefore they SFA/SPL could do absolutely nothing about his rants etc. but as we all know, he was actively involved with the daily running of the club. Craig Whyte on the other hand, held a majority shareholding AND a place on the board - he was therefore accountable to the SFA/SPL.

That's the risk you take on the open market.... Given the choice, I'm sure there are many shareholders out there whom others would not want involved.
-
They are simply investors....they have no direct connection to the running of the club - the SFA/SPFL have no say. This is exactly why Mad Vlad got away with criticising the SAL/APL so often - he owned the club, but officially was not involved in running it. Neither BPH or Margarita have controlling interests in the club. Mike Ashley has a controlling interest in Newcastle, but not in RFC - no issue.

This is a very valid point...MM was chairman for a good while, yet claims no more information than anyone else. Graham Wallace was also asked in his Daily Mail interview, and again would not divulge the names (if he knew them) Quite simply, both groups don't want to be identified (which is their prerogative).
-
Professional sportsmen should not need a rest when training at most 20hrs per week & competing only once a week!!!
-
Should any of the requisitioner's getting votted onto the board on Thursday, At what time on Friday do we expect an announcement as to who is behind Blue Pitch & Margarita??? Personally, I ain't holding my breath. The identities of these 2 groups will only be published they the groups themselves consent to it. If the board were to release the full names of those involved without consent, that could have SERIOUS consequences with future investors & trust issues.
-
Surely it is not up to the Board to release the names - if they did could that not possibly breach stockmarket/AIM rules??? Whoever is behind Blue Pitch & Margarita have requested to remain anonymous....if the names of those involved are to be known, then surely it HAS to come from the holding groups themselves???

You stated that the requisitioner's (I'm assuming you were referring to the whole group) were asked to "represent a significant block of shareholders"..... I'm simply saying that the only one that I was aware of was Jim McColl. I am of the belief that the rest of the group was then brought in by McColl.

Have they???? I know Jim McColl was reportedly ask by a group of shareholders....heard nothing about the rest!!!!

I don't doubt it.....but what makes them so special for the Rangers boardroom??? Do they have a "nose" for a good deal??? Are they excellent negotiators??? Do they have a proven record for bringing in investment??? Do they have potentially lucrative contacts in major organisations??? Are they hard-nosed bast*rds who take no prisoners??? What have they done to improve previous businesses??? All we really have a present is - They are "Rangers men" & they are not connected with Green/Stockbridge/Whyte. Note: The above points also apply to the current board & any other person who may wish to join the board.

I honestly don't see BS surviving the AGM (not literally, but you never know). I think Wallace & Somers will stay. I think Wilson & Murdoch will be voted join. Crichton may stay Easdale will probably stay If BS goes, they will need to get a respected & experienced FD in ASAP - this could be Blin (even short term)

I wouldn't class that as "specific skills".....I'm sure Somers, Wallace & Crichton have some equally capable business acquaintances who they can turn to for advice. If they need to run to McColl or King every 10 mins or every time they have to make a decision....are they really the men to run the club? Just get king and/or McColl on the board. As for Gunslinger's suggestions: Restructuring skills - REALLY....was that not allegedly one of Craig Whyte's core skills??? Property developer - Andrew Ellis anyone??? Then comes the concern about selling Ibrox etc - isn't that right up a property developers street (literally) Business & boardroom experience - Pretty sure Somers, Wallace & Crichton have plenty of that as well with companies that are actually profitable Rangers men - Plenty of these about, but how many could run the club well??? I'm sure we've had plenty in the past as well & look where that got us!!!! We require businessmen not fans to take the club forward. The key position, that the requisitioner's haven't got 100% covered is FD. There is still talk of Blin possibly being involved, but nothing concrete. If they put up a credible replacement FD, they would have no problems.

"vast experience" in what??? PM is effectively the only one with practical experience of a football club, and even then no-one is sure what he actually did. MM was involved previously, but going by his account of his time in office, he was unable to do ANYTHING constructive. From what I know of Wilson & Murdoch, they have zero experience running a football club. With the current board, only GW has had experience running a football club (some wee provincial team in Manchester...) & by all accounts he did a good job. With regard to specific football experience, the other board members are in the same boat as Wilson & Murdoch. However, based on their business background posted in another thread, Somers, Crichton & Easdale all appear to have a more successful track record. What specific skills do the Murrays, Murdoch & Wilson bring to the table that the current board don't offer????

As has been demonstrated in the past....that all depends on WHO that representative is!!! If not the right person, it could create further/deeper divisions in the support. For now we need stability in the boardroom, then talk about fan involvement at a later date.

Prior obviously feels that he was effectively lied to....surely that entitles him to change his mind. What he was originally told (which impressed him) has obviously not happened & therefore he will not back those responsible - this is a feeling that may be shared with many other IPO investors. Since the IPO last year, the share price has more than halved - that represents a considerable loss for institutional investors.

Rangers CEO Graham Wallace speaks to Sky Sports News
Darthter replied to j1mgg's topic in Rangers Chat
Sandy Easdale only owns 4.5% of the shares.....everything else is proxy votes for other shareholders.... -
define a "proper board" Surely a "proper board" is one that is democratically elected??? The board elected at the AGM next week will be the 1st of its kind in recent years, yet from many of your posts you would be reluctant to support it. If Stockbridge is voted back into position, the fans have to accept that the majority of shareholders believe he is the best man for the position (out of those available). It is then up to BS to prove those shareholders correct - the same applies to all other elected board members. I don't believe BS will be re-elected to the board.

= no money into the club = no club good move....put Stockbridge out of a job, by closing down the company he works for. What happens if on 20th Dec, the board looks like this: D Somers G Wallace J Easdale S Murdoch A Wilson What happens if either Murray gets voted on & Stockbridge is also voted back on??? The club needs boardroom stability in order to progress as a business. Will folk accept the democratic decision @ the AGM or will they continue kicking & screaming that it was a fix etc. Of those fans screaming the loudest & most often....how many are shareholders??? There has been plenty of criticism of Jim McColl etc about the number of shares they personally hold & why don't they buy more to effect change, but how many are directing criticism when they don't actually have any shares themselves. On the 19th Dec, a new board will be elected by the shareholders - this board MUST be given some time to show they are up to the job.
