  1. FFS - Can I ask you what the feck PR means to you guys when it comes to our Club. We don't sell organic juice or any other commodity. What frickin public (P) are we trying to have relations ® with to the detrement of the majority of our loyal fan base? Don't you get that we don't have a demographic out there just waiting to love Rangers if we just start to behave like the Harlem Globe Trotters. I believe you guys are a danger within with this hugely naive attitude. I'm no bigot. I'm a fair minded guy, but my heritage should not be kicked any more to appease anybody!!
  2. Can I ask you a question (and there is a very valid reason I ask which I will follow up with)? Were you ashamed at the 2000 Cup Final when the Rangers end at Hampden was all orange in tribute to the Dutch management team? And before you tell me what was behind that theme - please don't. I will tell you what was behind that day - official version (ask Iain King - Rangers News Chief editor at that time - NOT orange order). Were you ashamed when Rangers FC asked for the shelves of the Rangers shops to be quite literally emptied to make way for orange Dutch replica tops and orange memorabillia that made Rangers more than£300,000? I can tell you Rangers were close to the biggest shirt seller in Scottish history as the sponsors waited to see what the public perception would be towards a fan based driven orange day. Rangers and the shirt sponsors had been inundated for requests for an orange top the world over and were nervous about taking the plunge. The sponsors were desperate to do it as it had the potential to break all records. We allowed the press and our enemies to beat us down and the sponsors ran for cover. In fact i will tell you why it annoys me all the more - get a hold of the Rangers Monthly issue 22 page 4 and you will find that day was the idea of an 11 year old kid, backed by his father, with the help of Iain King. So take your orange strip = Orange Order, put it on your wall with everything else we've given in to. Your whole point is based around getting rid of everything that is not related to FOOTBALL. Rangers history is steeped upon an identity that is married to a social working class demographic. For you to suggest otherwise is naive in the extreme!
  3. Zappa, They say what doesn't kill you makes you a better man, but not easy to think that way at the time I''l bet!
  4. If a couple of ringleaders get a 'team' together to set about a guy standing on his own that they see as a threat, what is the best stance for the threatened guy to adopt? (a) be passive, try to adapt (hoping that you will not have to give too much ground) and get on with your life [only to find out no matter what you give it will NEVER be enough]? (b) While they are aiming blows at you, make sure you get as many in as you can yourself? Will the same crowd be so eager to keep coming back to bully someone with a No Surrender attitude if they suffer a good belt on the 'Duke of Montrose' in the process? No matter what Charles Green's ultimate legacy will be I feel proud actually to have a man at our helm who favours option B after decade upon decade of our guardians taking option A. I'm an old fart and I remember as a kid reading a certain Doug Baillie ('Rangers' man) in the 60s in the Sunday Post saying "Rangers will get a fair hearing from the press once they sign a Catholic". [get rid of their socks, Union Jack, Billy Boys........etc etc]. I asked my dad if that was true and he laughed "no chance son" I love the fact that CG is enoying the fight and bloodying a few noses in the process and bringing back a No Surrender pride! Don't be kidded by the Keevins, Gordons, etc etc trying to make him out like some sort of nutter who is nothing more than nuisance value. They are are not lying comfortable in their beds knowing that this guy is knocking on shaky walls that they prevously thought were safe to hide behind.
  5. Oh I think you are wrong on that one!! I don't think CG has ever shirked a decision like that in his walk of life.
  6. I had big concerns during the summer when Ally was 'firefighting' to keep the place afloat that he would get too close to the players during that time, and when it came time to create the required 'gap' between a manager and his players again that he wouldn't be that figure of authority that the players were scared to cross. I don't think there is any fear or trepidation in the players when they put in performaces like that.
  7. Numan definite yes. 100%. Laudrup - I would say he would also jump at the chance to get into coaching and what an ideal apprenticeship getting us out of Div3. We can forget the big cups this year. I can't see us getting anything from Motherwell. Templeton was the only player capable of creating anything.
  8. Also lead us as the first club to win in European club competition at PSV's Philips Stadion
  9. Artur Numan did a great job with Holland U-21 and he would jump at the chance. He could get us out of Div3 no problem and pick up the required experience over the next couple of years. Also give Laudrup a role with the youngsters and as assistant coach?
  10. Being a legend never stopped John Greig being hounded at as manager when his time was up as you probably know. Ally should do the honourable thing before he suffers the same fate as JG with fans chanting outside the main door for him to go.
  11. Agreed. But while we are on the subject of far fetched the bitchy head in the sand response I got actually suggested that my response could in some way endanger any potential internal HMRC investigation. Oh the irony. That's one of the resaons we have been shafted for years i.e. this "oh lets stop getting carried away, nobody is out to get us" attitude. Well the reality is they are and will stop at nothing in the process!!
  12. ooooohhhh hark at her!!! Run out of oatabix this morning sweetheart?
  13. And one other thing Ally knows too as plenty of them drink in EK as the same venues Ally frequents.
  14. "In 2008, after becoming aware there was a potential tax liability related to EBTs, Celtic reached an agreement to pay a sum to HMRC." Payment made in 2005, and in 2008 you 'become aware' of HMRC liability. Could this be round about the time that certain HMRC staff were openly 'becoming aware' that something big was about to go down at Rangers. It's a renowned bead rattling organisation as I know plenty who hold positions in there. The Knights of St Columbus Club in Blantyre will vouch for that! Surely the Sellik weren't tipped off by Holy Mary's Roman Corruption? Too much conspiracy? Don't be so sure. I know the nature of the Bheast in question.
  15. Keevins has used this whole article to get the point across that "we have bigger crowds because our admission is cheaper" because like every other Selik man he can't stand the fact that even from way down in the depths of Div3 we can still get one over on them. Also the fact that he was proved sadly wrong when he predicted we would be playing to paltry crowds if we went to Div3 (did this journalistic icon not know that the prices were cheaper when he made that bold prediction or is the reference to admission costs scraping the barrell?).
  16. I don't mean to rain on our parade 'cos I'm loving the whole atmosphere at Ibrox etc these days as well as the next guy, but this will be way tougher than most people think. Even with a much stronger squad in the past we had to work more often than not to get the win. The brilliant atmosphere at home won't buy us that win. Our defence needs to bond very quickly 'cos 3rd division players are running through us with worrying regularity. Still think we should do it but it will NOT be a cakewalk as some suggest. On a positive note I got a lot of hope out of wee DT's display on Sunday. I had no idea the wee man was just as skillful. When he came in off the touchline into a more free role just behind big Lee he was immense.
  17. Does it? You'd better let the manager know then.
  18. So, tell me the great goalkeeping captains you base this on?
  19. Does that rule out Jig the midfielder, or Jig the makeshift central defender when we have injuries at the back? Your case for goalkeepers making good captains is based on what?
  20. Your obvious hatred (jealousy? wish I was him?) attitude towards Jig leaves your arguement lacking in any credibility. But when did skill and amount of goals scored etc come into play when choosing a Rangers captain? Wasn't the greatest ever Ranger our greatest ever captain also - John Greig? Skillfull? Prolific? Did Davie Weir in more recent times have those attributes? Your arguement doesn't stand up. Oh fuck this doplimacy - you are clueless as to the history as to what makes a Rangers captain. End of.
  21. Got to be Jig. Did you see him run half the length of the park last week to give Alexander a rollicking for dribbling round the guy. It's got to be someone who can dish it out to anyone in the team if they are slacking. Can you see Black giving Jig a bollicking? Nothing wrong with having a second in command if Jig isn't playing. But its GOT to be him.
