  1. Agreed. Out of interest, any idea of his contract situation? Can we make a couple of quid off him or is he returning from loan to end of contract?
  2. I think Boca would be great for that, tons of experience and really shown his class for us previously. However unlikely to return after loan completion unfortunately.
  3. Agree on McCulloch to an extent, but I think he's been our most stable influence there and does seem to command the defence well and hold it together a little better. I don't think we'd have had as many gaps there at tthe weekend with Jig in place.
  4. Frankie, we have someone who can fill that void, but due to lack of consistency with our strikers, he's been filling in up front! Is it just me or are we crying out for a David Weir type figure again?
  5. Saw Brian play in a legends game against Celtic a few years back now and he still looked the part, can we get him a pair of boots???
  6. Yeah, I should have stuck with Spain, Portugal and England as my evidence!
  7. Oh, yeah, forgot Dortmund somehow. Point still stands that across Europe other leagues as as equally "uncompetitive" as the SPL yet are flourishing (look at Spain). The problem isn't the dominance of the Old Firm over the years, we need to look elsewhere for the cause and that was my point. For too long the blame has been "oh it's a two horse race, that's why it's a poor quality" but this doesn't hold back other leagues. While the two-horse element continues to be focused on, it's masking other problems that are lurking.
  8. The SPL has always been criticised as a 2 horse race between Celtic and Rangers, but compare this with the EPL and it's actually more open. The SPL allows for 1 in 6 competing teams to win, while the EPL allows (if we're generous and say two Manchester clubs and Chelsea have a chance...) allows one in 6.667 clubs to win, the two divisions are pretty much equal on competitiveness. This is mirrored around Europe (Spain : Madrid and Barca, Germany: Munich and erm...., Portugal: Benfica, Porto) yet these leagues aren't derided as being "dead". The two-horse race is a misnomer of an issue in Scottish football and people need to realise this. Yes there are massive problems with the current setup (starting with this stupid split and the lack of a true pyramid) but two-horse isn't one of them IMO.
  9. 50,000 a match at Ibrox every other week, but only 37,000 signatories seems a little disappointing. Yes the attendance will include those who can't sign, but there's also a number of fans out there who can't attend games but are entitled to sign up. This needs more coverage from somewhere, Maybe JT needs to get onto it as the new PR chap?
  10. I'm sure I'm not the only one eagerly looking forward to the responses on all these emails!
  11. cdynamo1 > Was that Christian Nerlinger? Or does my memory deceive me?
  12. I for one would be happier if the motive WAS financial, the concern is that the motive is the pursuit of further action against the club!
  13. Always pleased to see how many of our former players keep such an emotional attachment to the club, foreign players who make Glasgow their second home is always pleasing to see with the likes of Mols and Rino being obvious examples. True legends every one of them!
  14. Surely we can't register him again anyway, embargo and all that?
  15. I'd like to see the past regime (Murray et al) take people to task over this, the club needs to focus on moving forward and the case is nothing to do with Green and the current ownership anyway. We need to fight the SPL plans obviously, but as far as legal action etc against those promoting the anti-rangers agenda (perceived or real, it doesn't matter) this can be done by others and let us continue to move forwards. Although I suspect I might not get too much agreement for that point of view!
  16. Interesting thought, but given news stories relating to Lord McAlpine may have a few bloggers\tweeters a little nervous in light of todays decision...
  17. Super_Ally, I think I know what you mean and have been thinking the same. Can anybody remember the last time a football body found in our favour on anything, I'm thinking back over recent stuff: the transfer embargo (overturned by the civil courts) and all the sectarian stuff imposed against us by UEFA etc. When did a footballing body last find in our favour on any issue of substance (or any issue lacking substance for that matter!)?
  18. So, to clarify... A HMRC tax investigation is carried out under a total media spotlight with seemingly no thought to "innocent until proven guilty". As a result of the negative publicity, the bank withdraws support and forces the owner into a sale against the best interests of the company. Following this, further debts are run up and a company with nearly 140 years of history and a global brand identity is forced into administration and then liquidation, all started by what was reported to be up to £150mill in debts. The tribunal into the tax case eventually reports its findings and, surprise surprise the big nasty Rangers people were right, the schemes were perfectly legal and nothing is due, the listed debts are slashed by more than half and it could well be argued that the original company would have been solvent and the pressure on Murray to sell would have been significantly lower, allowing him to find a better steward for the club going forward. Did I miss anything?
  19. No comment expected tonight from SPL or SFA... Surprising there!
  20. Rule change imminent, backdated obviously, to allow SPL to strip trophies? I'm sure PL is working on the details right now!
  21. Have I misread it, it's sounding from some comments like a complete throw out and no case to answer?
  22. If I understand correctly, it was a majority and not unanimous decision and there is some finding of guilt, although the final figure is significantly less than was first thought, but then that's only a quick flick over it and I'm sure somebody can be much more accurate and specific on matters than I!
  23. Bigy, thanks for that, makes a little more sense there. The reason for suggesting a non-voting membership is more that I can see it causing issues for RST if an investment gives a vote as it would result in a significant reduction of income for them. If I were a member of RST, I'd be very tempted in those circumstances to use the memebrship money to go directly towards the SD mission rather than into RST, and certainly prospective new members would consider the same I'm sure. Plus an influx of "new members" who may have issues witht he RST would potentially use their new membership for mischief, a non-voting registration would eliminate that possibility.
