  1. For the rest of the season, once we've got control of the club back, we need to get behind the current crop of players. Good enough or not they're what we have, whether we like it or not, they're the ones that can get us out of this league and if nothing else, they'll have bonuses to pick up if they do so, we've got the same aims albeit for different reasons!
  2. First home game after the EGM needs to have a capacity crowd turn out to support, hopefully it might even give a boost to the players and help improve performances, it can't be that inspiring playing to a half empty (at best!) stadium every week. It's not going to turn them into world beaters, but might just help with the attitude and motivation a little.
  3. Interesting, wasn't aware that Raith were doing that. Makes a big difference!
  4. Frankie, fair comment, certainly we're a lot cleaner than we used to be on that front. The problem is that it seems unless we get to 100% (and I'm not sure we can) then we're always going to be up front and centre when these issues are looked at, hopefully a better, more focused PR from the new board (fingers crossed!) will help highlight the efforts and improvements made. There seems to be an acknowledgement that we're just about there (if not there) with regards to Ibrox, but that we have issues with the travelling fans. Givent he tight regulation of away tickets, should this not be easier to deal with?
  5. Perhaps the solution is to clean up our own house, get the songs eradicated so there's nothing to report on and then as a collective support we can push for others to do the same. Complaints about the offensive banners seen on TV, chanting about Irish Republicanism heard over the pitch side microphones. If we've cleared our own bases before doing so, we can hopefully drive the agenda in a direction of our choosing and hold others to our impeccably high standards. Until we clean up our own act, we'll continue to be the focus of attention.
  6. I have a feeling this could be an interesting one...
  7. Thanks for that Frankie, was worried we might get them voted out, but have them stay on as there was no replacement or something silly like that!
  8. Given the query about VB, sorry if this has been addressed before, but what happens in the event that the existing board members are voted out and the proposed new members are all rejected, are we left with no directors or does the incumbent stay in place? Given that the vote may well be very close, the VB situation (and others likeminded) may lead us into this position...
  9. Wow, common sense prevails. I thought this was an SPL vote??
  10. Is there not something else not being considered here? I thought Whyte was banned from any involvement in Scottish football anyway, so regardless of any deal, he CAN'T be the owner of Rangers, he simply isn't allowed to be?
  11. I guess all this explains why he went rather quiet after making a lot of noise about his share!
  12. Bogus Italian lawyer Giovanni di Stefano found guilty A self-styled Italian lawyer has been found guilty of tricking people into thinking he was a bona fide legal professional. Giovanni di Stefano was convicted on 25 charges including deception, fraud and money laundering between 2001 and 2011. The 57-year-old is known as the "devil's advocate" for representing high-profile criminals. The ex-Dundee football director has worked with train robber Ronnie Biggs and Saddam Hussein's legal team. His clients have also included serial killer Dr Harold Shipman and Serbian leader and war criminal Slobodan Milosevic. He helped make legal history as part of the team which overturned the manslaughter conviction of tycoon Nicholas van Hoogstraten. Di Stefano did not react as the 25 guilty verdicts were delivered at London's Southwark Crown Court. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21957686
  13. Have the BBC given up pretence of impartiality on the matter?? BBC Sportsound pundit Tom English "SPL commission, previously derided as a kangaroo court by Rangers fans is now declared a paragon of justice by the jubilant Bears..."
  14. Just looking at the BBC live text on this, there's a lot of ellipsis use after mentioning we'll not be stripped of titles. Also found this entry interesting at 11:02: SFA registration rules state that payments received by a player solely relating to his playing activities must be fully recorded and declared. If that does not happen, the player has been improperly registered and the norm then is for the player's team to forfeit any match in which he has participated. Rangers won the SPL four times in the EBT period in question, in 2003, 2005, 2009 and 2010. However, the club won't be stripped of any titles... I was under the impression that the EBT's /had/ been declared, we're included in the official accounts etc submitted to the SPL, surely the BBC aren't trying to force something else onto the agenda here?
  15. Surely any fine would be levied against "oldco", not "newco" so no concern of Charles anyway. Ironically, an additional fee against oldco would mean HMRC losing out on the amount recovered as there'd be a further creditor surely?
  16. Fair comment, I guess my interpretation was that all debts that were due had been paid, and that others would continue on the schedule originally agreed. I saw the statement more as being "we're up to date with payments and all is as it should be"
  17. My understanding was that the payment still owed (now paid) to Rapid was part of an agreed payment schedule, so not a "debt" in the sense of payment due. The schedule was kept and made now. I don't see the criticism of Green in there.
  18. Loving Common's quotes this morning in the Record : "If they want to prepare at a Division Three training ground ?let them get on with it.” Someone should point out that Scotland's two best stadia are currently used in Div3!
  19. I'm usually of the pedantic nature, so always irks a little when I get pulled up! England's best ever player, that's such a tough one. Gazza certainly up there, but can't discount the likes of Linekar either. Older players always seem to be more thought of in these polls, the old nostalgia trip I suppose, but also the likes of Beckham and Ashley Cole of recent times have been among the best players in the world for their positions. Difficult to call!
  20. Fair point Gribz, got my timelines a little wrong, regardless. Wow!
  21. My abiding memory of Gazza actually came in an England shirt, many, many glorious memories in the light blue, but THAT goal against Scotland was incredible, flicking it over Hendry and vollying past Goram, the fact they were both team mates at the time only made it better! Incredible talent.
  22. Makes the SPL tribunals job easier I guess. Now it's being appealed, they can argue the ruling of the original tribunal is void so they're not bound by it's findings and can procede to strip Rangers of everything they've ever won and make us pay back every penny of prize money plus interest at a thoroughly reasonable %50pa rate. Happy days! <\cynic>
  23. Surely we can't have a Rangers B in the bottom tier as that's where Rangers A will be playing?
