  1. someone said it earlier and i hate to agree but naismith is the perfect player for that formation taking the miller role. I will burn in hell for saying that:eek2:
  2. plenty of positives from today but would prefer people just said what they think instead of what people would prefer to hear them say.
  3. Yes!!!!!!!!!!! What a goal. Take a bow Krancjar
  4. Would give me a serious bump in belief if we could grab a wee goal. Not bothered about the score just like to see us convert
  5. Kind of what I was saying earlier. Alves was popping up in front of the def mid and was out on the left a few times now he's off a gap has appeared. Got to say if Tav was playing for the opposition and it was my first time seeing him I would be thinking that's what £15m gets you
  6. yeah finally got on at 18 minutes noticed its running 4 minutes or so behind the dodgy stream i had!! good solid defensive display so far, better than i dared hope for. more positive than the last four games thats for sure. Players seem to be communicating better and are geeing each other up rather than moaning which is good to see. Big improvement from Candeias far more like the sort of display we hoped to see. Tactically like the fact tavernier when defending is positioned more on the inside looks a lot more solid that way. Alves just amazes me, he turns up in positions i never knew defenders could go into! After the last 4 or 5 games Cardoso is looking like being a really great prospect. If he can stay this calm and composed for the coming season and contribute as he has so far he will be worth a fortune so long as we don't capitulate and sell for peanuts like usual.
  7. its coming back as host issues on mine so most likely.
  8. this is a joke, how the hell can we not estimate usage levels!! at worst case stop selling once maximum number is met
  9. Statistics are part of a story not the story.
  10. According to Derek on FF who usually releases team info correctly it's another change in formation again to a flat 442 with Alves in.
  11. The rankings for me don't really describe what is happening now think they take in the last 5 years or so. A lot can change in football season to season The biggest indicator for me is the movement side of the ranking system. Think there are about only four nations who have lost more points than us this season.
  12. Well their 4th place side is better than Scotland's 3rd placed side. Scotland is one of the worst footballing nations in Europe. We are slightly above amateur level in fitness, tactics, technical ability, and understanding of the game, we just think we are better than we are. I know most will shrug that off as pessimism but frankly it's just a realistic appraisal. If the slide continues at the rate we are falling then we will be looking at having an amateur league within the next decade if nothing dramatically improves. If the hate continues to be the main motivation then that destruction will come faster. Cypriot teams are better than Scotish teams for example that's how poor we are as a nation. It would be very unlikely we could have beat Limmissol especially if both teams played to their full potential. All these nations are on the rise while we are falling, and falling fast.
  13. Fun? Christ I vaguely remember fun be associated with watching Rangers!!lol Fair enough mate it is just a bit of fun at the end of the day
  14. Unless I missed it he doesn't determine the quality of the league. 100% win ratio in the Scottish 4th division should score less than say 40% win ratio in the English championship etc Plus you would need to score the inherited team and determine the gradient of success before and after the manager was brought in to judge the managers effect.
  15. Kind of happy to see the lazy uncaring players getting their feathers ruffled. Hopefully soon it will become common knowledge that Rangers isn't a place you goto to just pick up a wage . This is a place that nourishes winners. Get with the mentality or get out.
  16. Think the game will be shown on Premier sports for any who can't make it
  17. I've watched it. It was the same old story same as the other preseason games and pretty much same as last season and the UEFA legs. Slight improvement in the things we already did okay like possession and pressing and no improvement in the things we have been consistently poor at like set pieces and finishing. Also same lack of ideas and movement when attacking. I felt like our midfield was generally behind the ball most of the game. Don't agree we had loads and loads of chances, we had 3 decent chances which we failed to convert and with our conversion rate quite frankly isn't enough chances for us to hit high numbers in my opinion. We had the majority of the possession as per usual but to me we never looked like scoring and the gap between the midfield and the forwards has grown though Tav did get further forward from defence( not sure what the plan is with the fullbacks. One game they sit deep and don't cross the halfway line next game they're our main attacking threat). Not even going to detail the importance placed on windass once Krancjar was ordered off the park. Would also say we were trying but St J went through the motions a bit and just stepped it up when called to. Overall slight improvement but not enough to affect results dramatically in my eyes We do though still seem to be concentrating on fitness instead of cohesion which in its own deserves debate as a solid plan. Doubt St Johnstone would call it a difficult game for them. Soaked up pressure and capitalised on a mistake, most likely was their whole game plan and it worked, see no reason it will not continue to work for these teams unless we somehow up it a couple of gears and find our grove going forward. Hopefully the concentration so far has been on defending and the next few weeks we are going to work on the change over. If that's not the case we are in trouble. We do however on a positive look like conceding less especially with Alves still to appear. Main bet this season for me would be low scoring draws a plenty. On a side note I have absolutely no idea where Walker is to fit in if rumours of our interest are true. Also never seen Dalcio unless I had switched off by that point which is possible! Can see us losing by 5 or 6 to the French cheats if they are up for the game. Be surprised if we can break them down and score.
  18. Looks to me like PC is building the midfield round Krancjar not getting rid of him tbh . My only concern with Krancjar is his fitness
  19. was told Miller called him a fraud walking off and was heard by a few people. Word then got to PC who challenged him about it in the dressing room and an argument pursued with Miller saying he is a fraud and challenging his signing policy and tactics. Player meeting was then called to discuss the teams backing of the manager. After meeting the players have asked for a further meeting with the board. General feel is he won't see the start of the season As said through a third person and not from the horses mouth so hopefully shit and the team puts in a performance to give hope Feels like Le Guen all over though. Wasn't impressed with Miller today and his attitude towards the other players lots of shaking of his head and moaning but who knows anymore! Certainly don't agree with Miller if true about the standard of new players today. Herrera and Pena look like good players to me same with Dorrans . Jack I have to admit has impressed also.Just don't agree with the way we are lining up and the use of Krancjar backed with windass as a good base to build from. Krancjar is a great player but who knows if he will get fit enough to last a season same gamble MW made really. just want to watch good football FFS
  20. Anyone heard about a team meeting being called after PC and Miller falling out? Heard through a third person so take with a pinch of salt for now though I do personally believe it's highly possible if not even likely.
  21. they cannot all hit the same central space. Dorrans and Pena will push wide and feed Tav and Wallace who give us width but are crossing to one man Herrera. You need a full combination of midfielders to make that work not three players basically the same with one guy in Krancjar trying to create everything. Miller just isn't involved in anyway. It's a terrible idea that has zero goals and absolutely no runs beyond the forwards.Miller and Herrera are not going to give us 40-60 goals that the formation would need to be successful. There is no harmony or cohesion to the play, no fluid movement. He's absolutely dreaming if he thinks Pena and Dorrans will get past Krancjar with any regularity and manage to find space. The gaps between the midfield and the forwards speaks volumes and looks like a natural occurrence due to the players positional sense . He's trying to fit square pegs in round holes. Pena Dorrans and Jack are all picking the ball up deep and pretty much playing in line with the back four. It's all dreadful to be frank, meaningless spreading of the ball left to right in the naive belief teams will come out and when they don't we are left to play to our weakest strategy ,the big cross from deep or pulling inside to try to pass through two lines of four. The proof is in the pudding as they say. No goals game after game is not going to suddenly change by doing the same thing over and over. It's a pipe dream. The players he has brought in don't fit the formation Hope your correct and suddenly we start finding the net but I have zero faith now, each game just gets worse and worse and we look more and more lost.
  22. NewcoTed ID10 and AWK Though they didn't name Krancjar just said senior player, personally think they mean Miller. Krancjar was sent off so could have been standing at the side I suppose but they did say it was when walking off
  23. Ohh well if we missed a good few chances that changes everything. Well worth paying over £3m on two centre mids to play them as inside forwards! If you think a midfield formation with 4 centre mids is going to work then the problem is not with the "we are doomed folk" as you suggest. Newco Ted tweeting players are walking round the training complex saying the manager is a fraud to people sounds so positive, your right silly me for looking at our play, results, formation and squad harmony to judge our position. Should just use other people's opinions instead of having one .even though it seems they couldn't spot a disaster coming at them if it screamed "I'm a disaster coming at you" Now also confirmed by ID10 and AWK plus they have added it was a senior player and also being said before today
