  1. If ammunition is provided, it is not surprising that some will choose to use it. Roddy Forsyth is most certainly not a Rangers hater. There is a growing number of people who are devoted to Glasgow Rangers who regret having to echo much of what Roddy Forsyth has written.
  2. Walter Smith is an honest man who would recognise that he doesn't have the business skills to be the CEO of mGlasgow Rangers. I suspect that he is enjoying retirement too much for day to day involvement. Given what has emerged over recent days, I don't know if Charles Green can match Walter's honesty. However, I just can't accept that there are not many people around who will have superior business skills to CG and other skills e.g. communication who would better suited to providing sound and credible leadership at what is a great football club. There is a distinction between CG departing the club and remaining as CEO.
  3. All credit to STB for his consistent defence of C G. My difficulty is I just don't believe that he has the qualifications to hold down what is an important and high profile job. It appears that CG appointed himself to the CEO position. If he had been subjected to a competitive selection process, there appears to be little to suggest that he would have been the best candidate. No one can dispute the effort he puts he puts in but the CEO position at Rangers should be filled with someone who is both wiser and better qualified.
  4. A few days back Zappa says that the time had come to call a spade a spade and this sparked off varying posts on the merits of Charles Green. Do we really want a character like that in a leadership role at our club? I don't know how it can be achieved but If he was removed, I would welcome his departure.
  5. Who knows, if this DR tale is true? Would be surprised if Ally was to leave and even more surprised if the board entrusted CG' with the decision to appoint a replacement. Modesty is not something that sits comfortably with CG' but only a few weeks back, he said that he knew nothing about football. Doubt that he will be given the chance to prove himself wrong.
  6. Whether we or don't rate Keith Jackson, was he wrong to suggest that Rangers supporters want someone in authority to clean up the mess? The Whyte/Green issue is a mess. There are plenty of us who have put our hands in our pockets, in support of our club and unusual things such as transferring money into the bank account of someone's mother, as well as the rest, should be looked into.
  7. But what are his qualifications to be CEO of Glasgow Rangers. His business career since leaving Sheffield United doesn't suggest that C G's services were in demand. If we were seeking a CEO who was "simply the best" to oversee our club's affairs, following a terrible time, do you seriously believe that CG is the ideal person ? I don't.
  8. Charles Green impressed many due to his willingness to take up the fight to the people who were out to destroy us. It was refreshing after the approach of Martin Bain, who was largely ineffective. However, what qualifications does this guy have to be the CEO of Glasgow Rangers? Since he left Sheffield United in 1998 he seems to have floated around from pillar to post and there is little evidence to support that he is equipped to handle the position he is now occupying. I totally share the reservations expressed in the previous posts. I fear that the main motivation for Mr Green being in his present position is not based on his ability to provide sound business leadership to the club but instead to use the club as a vehicle to make money but not for our club. I will not be the only one who is cautious of people who keep saying how straight and honest they are.
  9. Yes that was the intention.
  10. Sir David Murray did many good things for Rangers. He brought to Ibrox some wonderful players and it was just thrilling to watch them play. However, his egotism allowed him to reach out for what was probably unachievable and as a result he created a mess by running up a level of debt that was unsustainable. We all know what happened. SDM grew tired of Rangers and took a terrible risk by selling the club to Craig Whyte. It didn't take too long for CW to expose his egotism. Although he had only been around for a short time, he swaggered out before the season opener against Hearts, to unfurl the championship flag. However, the main problem was that his ego persuaded him to believe that he could do whatever he liked and took the club to the brink of ruination. Charles Green came on to the scene. He was prepared to put down money when others shied away. He stood up for our club against people who did everything they could to shaft us and his contribution to the share issue was magnificent. However, CG seems to have an ego problem. Being the CEO of Glasgow Rangers has given him the platform to be in the limelight and he clearly enjoys the sound of his own voice. However, what he says is not always wise or helpful. If egotism is a common factor in the make-up of SDM, CW and CG, there is also a definite distiction. SDM and CW owned the club but that is not the case with CG. He was applauded for saying that no one person would ever own more than 20% of the shares and that is what distinguishes him from the previous two owners. CG owns 8% of the club shares, so it follows that the other 92% are held by others. Our board of directors are there to represent the best interests of all shareholders and perhaps the time has now come for them to consider whether CG is the best man to continue to hold the office of CEO. If he were to be displaced, it is certain that CG would react badly and this could lead to further damaging revelations emerging. However, sometimes it is better to take the pain in the short term to bring about an improved long term situation. On our board are people such as, Walter Smith, Ian Hart and Malcolm Murray, who may well share the misgivings of others who are Rangers people, over some of the things that CG says and does. For many of us, Glasgow Rangers has been a major part of our lives. The past 15 months or so, have been just dreadful. We wonder what we are going to awake to, day after day. It won't be easy for them to control CG and the time may have come to invite CG to step aside.
  11. When a statement is released on any important matter, it is always headed up, Charles Green Statement. It is the board of directors who are the custodians of club affairs and I would feel more comfortable any communication made it clear that it was being issued on behalf of the board. If this implies that I have a concern over some of the things that CG' puts out, yes, I do.
  12. By the way, we are a football club and we have a game on Sunday.
  13. The minimum time for an employee to make a claim for unfair dismissal is one year, other than for cases of discrimination. The tribunal route is closed to Sandaza. Is it realistic to believe that Ally would have wanted him to stay? Sandaza at no time has shown that playing for Rangers means much to him and Ally will probably be happy to see the back of him.
  14. Our enemies are successful evangelists. Judging by some of the issues included in this thread, they are sucking us into their sea of negativity. None of us really know the full facts about Neil Murray and anyway, is it any big deal?
  15. Neil Murray sounds as he wants the details kept under wraps, as well.
  16. Yes, Neil Doncaster thinks the survey is valuable but he chooses to ignore the preference for a larger top league. Stewart Regan says that numbers in any reconstruction initiative are subjective, whatever that means. There have been many questionable decisions in relation to Scottish football taken in recent years but the hiring of Regan and Doncaster to provide leadership makes the other decisions to appear sound and reasonable.
  17. A few months back, the Peterhead manager was quoted as saying that supporters should get their money refunded if rules were changed during the season. Maybe I am being cynical but it may be that his chairman and vice-chairman would see things differently, if Peterhead had been in the hunt for promotion. The paying public have indicated that the new proposals are unpopular and people like the spokesmen from Peterhead, Falkirk and Hamilton might just find that the some of the supporters that they presently have might not agree with their stance. Attendance figures in the SPL are not good and the issue of where the SPL are going to find the money to release funds remains a mystery to many.
  18. The main attraction for clubs like Falkirk is the fairer distribution of wealth issue. Has anyone given them proof that there is existing wealth available to re-distribute?
  19. The Annan chairman rightly pointed out that this financial-restribution can only happen if the SPL have sufficient funds to release. His reason for seeking a delay is for the process of due diligence to take place. That seems a reasonable position to take.
  20. I am aware what it says on Google. I am not convinced that there has been any noticeable improvement in the quality of communication since JT came aboard. CG continues to make wild statements e.g. the move to England and today our supporters face embarrassment re. The Neil Murray issue. It was naive to believe that this matter would not leak out and would be seized on by people who go out of their way to make Rangers look bad.
  21. James Traynor is a highly intelligent bloke and he no doubt commands a hefty salary. Can anyone assist by explaining what Jim Traynor does at Ibrox?
  22. Is there any news on how the BDO investigation is going? Was there a suggested timescale? It would have been helpful if the club could have given news on any progress but perhaps they are restricted.
  23. Does it matter what people like Mark Guidi think?
