  1. Suppose it was consistent that Stockbridge and Easdale arranged for a comedian to represent them in the directors box at Brechin.
  2. The QC representing Rangers described Ahmed's claim as "breathtaking in its audacity." Goodness knows what other audacious and breathtaking decisions, at the club's expense, took place when Ahmed and Green were in office.
  3. Yes, Mather did seem a nice enough guy but in a situation where there are all sorts of jungle fighters on the scene, he was never likely to cope. It always seemed strange that when McColl called for the removal of board members that Easdale wasn't included on his list. What will happen next is difficult to call , so there seems little point in trying to do that.
  4. King is quite happy to work with the current board! Not for too long, I suspect. He will know that there are far better people around than Mather and Stockbridge. Not sure how he will view Easdale. Probably doesn't matter about Smart, as his contribution is anyone's guess. Might take some moths but it is likely that the make-up of our board will change significantly.
  5. When CG was in place as CEO, a number of people on this forum pointed out that for all his talk, there was little in his background to suggest that he had the qualifications to fulfil the office of CEO at such a huge club like Glasgow Rangers. OK, he spent some time doing the CEO job at Sheffield United a number of years back but following his departure from there, his record in management was modest. Stockbridge has plenty of financial experience but again his CV reveals that he was unlikely to be equipped to handle the crucial role of FD at Rangers. He appears to have been more of an advisor on financial matters than someone who was expected to make important decisions in a n important organisation. I have no idea whether it is fair to suggest that Stockbridge is in any way corrupt but his responses at the recent meeting and previous ones underlines that we need someone far more capable to be our director of finance.
  6. Whether you rate Jackson or not, there will be a sizeable number of our support, who will see this article as being credible.
  7. Do you think based on his contribution/achievements to date that Mather is the best person to occupy the CEO position with all the hurdles that our club is still facing? I am pretty sure that there are better and stronger people around.
  8. McColl and his people can now see that many identify with their concern over the way our club is being run. However, it is about time that they explained their strategy and plans. Maybe they think that it is wise to keep their cards to their chests to avoid getting slagged off by those who represent the current board members but they should be saying more.
  9. Walter's description of this board being dysfunctional seems generous.
  10. My concern re. this initiative from McColl/Murray is that the only basis of their desire for change is that the current board are rubbish, not to be trusted etc. and an absence of what they can offer to bring about an improvement. While I suspect that they are right about the current board, they are surely obliged to explain their plans, vision and strategy, if they are entitled to attract the support, which they are seeking.
  11. The question that apart from Jim McColl himself, no one knows the answer to is when he wanted to get shot of Mather, Stockbrige and Smart from the board, why did he accept that James Easdale should remain? Wish someone with access to Mr McColl could find out. His position seems very strange, if the negative stories about the Easdales are true. It just seems unlikely that he would put his judgement at risk. Mind you, there are many very strange things, happening at board room level of our club.
  12. Yes, Walter did cross my mind as he has earned the trust and respect of the fans. Walter has conceded that he has only a limited knowledge of the business world and this could be a negative when it comes to his credibility. You are right to suggest that the support are pleading for an honest and important message after so much that has been confusing and misleading. I am genuinely not sure what the message will be but if is one that Walter Smith would be comfortable delivering, then great.
  13. While I agree that we need someone who is credible and who the fans trust, to speak up, I have difficulty in figuring out, the identity of such a person.
  14. Hope that Black apologises for his actions. His punishment could have been much worse. Ally is usually good with words but it might be wise to say very little about this business.
  15. Whittaker has always struggled defensively, even at right back and at left back, he struggles even more. The Macedonia game is unimportant and if Strachan has any genuine interest in assessing Wallace at international level, Tuesday provides him with a good opportunity.
  16. Across the world, we hear of revolts, dissatisfaction with governments, who are eventually toppled. However, the people who replace them are often no better. I am certainly no admirer of our current board and would be happy to see the back of most, if not all of our existing board members. However, I would like to hear more from potential new board members, by way of explaining how they would improve things. It is not enough to seek election on the basis that they are bound to be better than what is currently there.
  17. Apologies for being repetitive. I remain puzzled at McColl's apparent ambivalence to the Easdale situation. Jim McColl is bound to have respected business associates and it is likely to have crossed their minds that it is surprising that Mr McColl would see it as a good thing that both, never mind one, of the Easdale brothers are on the board of Glasgow Rangers and would be raising this with him. I may be just a bit dim but I wish someone could assist me in explaining McColl's thinking on this one.
  18. It seems likely that King and McColl will have, at least, explored the possibility of working together. I remain puzzled as to why McColl seemed to be relaxed over Easdale remaining on the board and just wonder if DK would view this as an obstacle.
  19. We may have serious reservations over their background but should the Easdales be included amongst the chancers?
  20. The same football club whose Financial Director would divulge his club's financial status to a journalist from The Sun.
  21. Don't know whether I am missing something? Mather suggests that McColl has apologised for a misleading newspaper article, attributed to him. Mather also says he.could work with McColl. However, Mc Coll's position remains that he wants to see the back of Mather along with Stockbridge and Smart. Some response from McColl and/or his representatives on what Mather has said would be helpful. The MH explanation is confusing. We were led to believe that the club had dispensed with their services but Mather is now saying that is not the case.
  22. I got the new book today on The Life of Davie Cooper. I haven't read it yet but when glancing through the was a picture of a banner in memory of Davie. The words read "I played for the club that I loved." Just wish that some of the occupants of our boardroom could begin to understand the depth of Davie Cooper's love of our club.
  23. Just a point of clarification. In a very modest way, I make a financial contribution to our club. I guess that there are many others who do likewise. I doubt whether too many such people welcome Jack back. A member of a shit stirring rabble? Hardly!
  24. If this is true, the shortsightedness of our board will be exposed big time. Where does this decision leave Jim Traynor? A few days ago, they were going on about saving costs and now they are rehiring someone to communicate on their behalf when they already have a Director of Communication on their payroll. Incredible people!
