  1. You think because someone, anyone, is a legend they automatically have the clubs best interests at heart? That's simply not true. No, that's not what i am doing either although there are similarities as was discussed earlier.
  2. That £3m just goes into a black hole though. Ally nor us would ever see it.
  3. I agree but he could have took himself out the firing line by bringing the matter up and demanding his salary be cut for the good of the club.
  4. Yeah so much so he knocked us back 3 times as a player and bled us dry last year to the tune of £833k. Good one Ian. His legendary status is an aside, that cannot be argued with.
  5. £1m for Wallace is an abolsute joke. Izaguirre was quoted at £10m and Wallace is a far better player than him. Now i don't expect us to demand figures like that at this level but £1m is an insult.
  6. He claims he is a Rangers man with the clubs best interest at heart. Could you take £833k off our club in the bottom tier of Scottish Football knowing we are absolutely skint without a brass neck? I know i couldn't.
  7. Well he is a very powerful man. No doubt he has may friends in the force, no doubt at all.
  8. Yes. It can be done with the correct balance. What we have is not a balance. Forget last season, not one person connected with the football club done themselves justice last year, MacLeod aside. Last year was a write off, a financial disgrace and footballing embarrassment. This title was on before a ball was kicked. They should have seen more game time than a few minutes at the end of the season. They should have been on the bench instead of Shiels, Smith and Cribari or in the team instead of Peralta, Black and Foster.
  9. He is now playing under a manager who has belief in him and has a track record of working with younger players. The hyperbole about exceptional international superstar nonsense is not necessary craig. Just because he is at club in the lower does not mean he is poor. Every player starts somewhere, every player has their own route to where they end up, every player is different. Coventry are a big club with big expectations and last year had an average gate higher than any club in Scotland outside the top 2. I think people are wanting McKay to play because what we currently have in the team is two central midfielders playing out of position and it's not enjoyable, it's hard to watch. They see a wide man not getting a game who has shown some signs that he can excite and do damage and want him to play instead. Understandable i would say. I do agree with you however, McKay is not as good as some think but he does have something. I think the youth stick to beat Ally with is nonsense, the manager makes enough other mistakes to be criticised justifiably. What on earth did you want any kid to do last year? We were an absolute disgrace last year from top to bottom. The fact a few managed to put their head up and show us anything was great. Mckay has shown glimpses that he may have "something". Aird has also shown potential. MacLeod has shown "something" arguably more than the other two. We seen enough from a lad Andy Murdoch in a matter of minutes against Newcaste which left people desperate to see more. There are a batch of kids right now in the reserve team which are exciting me no end. A group of around 4 or 5 who are ready now to step up but will not get their chance whilst we have Cribaris, Smiths and Shiels on the bench earning thousands. We are at a perfect level right now to try out more kids than normal but no, Ally wants to buy more players, no doubt with experience and on big bucks. Then we need a manager who can work with our youth prospects because that is our future. We can no longer afford buying managers. Last year was a disgrace for everyone, an embarrassment for the whole club, to single out the kids is grossly unfair.
  10. That is all any kid has at 13/14/15. Hype, potential. Walter played John at left back at one point, then left midfield expecting him to defend. He didn't know how to fit him into the team. Rangers fans never seen anything of what Fleck was capable of because the 2 managers he played under didn't have a clue how to handle him or how to play him. Fleck was an exceptional talent. Better than all his team mates at his age group and not out of his depth training with the first team when he was only 16. Technically he was outstanding, what let him down was a disgusting attitude. Who has been hyping up McKay? He is nowhere near as good as what Fleck was.
  11. One with good advice, one with proper grounding, one with a clever head on his shoulders. Kids are always looked at by numerous clubs. What's key in your post if "debacle we have at Ibrox". We have managed just fine so far to keep a hold of very good youth players, our problem is not keeping them at the club at 13/14, it's knowing what to do with them when they are 17/18/19. Walter didn't know and Ally doesn't know. Fleck, Urquhart and now Telfer proof.
  12. Both of them left under such different circumstances to an other player at any other club. A better example may have been Danny Wilson though not every kid thinks like he does or gets advice like he does either.
  13. Another thing, it's one thing actually having that money but it's a whole different ball game having someone who is able to use it wisely. Allys hit and miss ratio in the transfer market so far does not fill me with confidence, certainly not enough to throw millions at him.
  14. It may well be mate but let's be realistic. Where are we going to get money like that from? The demand will be we win the SPL title asap but this board will not throw money at Ally or whoever is in charge to beat Celtic. I have a horrible feeling they will be happy playing 2nd fiddle.
  15. £14m loss says we don't. As a fan i want to see the kids. I don't want us paying Dean Shiels or Fran Sandaza £4/5/6 grand a week. I want to see MacLeod and Murdoch in midfield running the show with McKay and Aird wide feeding a couple of strikers, that excites me. I don't want us paying Jon Dalys or Ian Blacks £6/7/8 grand a week. I don't want to see that. Watching the kids excites me, watching Shiels and Black bores me to tears. We have a squad of around 30 players. We could easily cut out the weakest 10 and not affect the first team. That 10 could save us £3m per year.
  16. I understand all of that but there is obviously a balance to be found. The percentages to turnover and wages talk is nonsense though. If we can win the leagues we are in whilst paying a fraction of what we currently are then we should have done that. We have easily wasted at least £10m in wages over the last 2 years. Paying players thousands of pounds per week to play in these part time leagues is just wrong. We cannot keep paying so much more than our rivals as we go up the leagues. When in the SPL we won't be able to outspend Celtic, we will need someone with enough knowledge and ambition to beat them within budget, not someone who wants to bring out a cheque book when he wants. Fans will demand we beat them and win titles despite not being financially on the same level.
  17. Arguably TinMan? We are using a sledgehammer to batter in a flooring pin. There are no clubs in our league or the league above who have even 1/10 of our budget. His budget could be cut by 90% and he should still be expected to win the league comfortably.
  18. I also found Allys interview rather astonishing. Sure our team needs improved, every team does but we have over 10 imposters, passengers, call them whatever, over 10 players we need out the door before anymore come in surely. As for being surprised that costs need cut. Not the brightest statement from Super.
  19. Going on loan is no use, that merely prolongs the problems. We need them OFF the wage bill PERMANENTLY.
  20. Lol. No, i like him as a goalscorer. Predator. As a person granted he comes across as a bit of a ticket.
  21. Oh i know all about their history Rab. We really should sign him though.
  22. He was in the first team last year because we had no one else. No other reason. The wee man grabbed his chance and has become a golden boy at the club. McKay should be playing for us on the flanks, not someone else. Let him grow into playing for us. He is exactly what we need on the flanks. Him, Temps and Aird should be fighting it out for the two wide places. Fwiw, i wasn't talking about the likes of Crawford(who i don't rate at all) and Gasparotto anyway, i am on about the next batch. The Murdochs, Stoneys, Dykes and Telfers. They are ready now to be at least introduced to the first team picture but instead we have passengers like Shiels, Cribari and Smith taking a place on the bench and being paid so much more per week for the trouble.
  23. McCoist said that was because Arnold was away with his country and was tired mate. Granted Aird kept his place afterwards though Temps has been out of favour all season with numerous players being played out of position instead of him. I think that speaks volumes for what the manager thinks of David.
