The players set up in a 4-4-2 at kick off with two centre midfielders on the flanks, no attacking central midfielder and a striker at centre back. The dynamics of the team are all wrong. We have also tried 4-2-3-1 which doesn't work either as there is absolutely no need for 2 holding midfielders and the 3 attacking ones don't have a clue what is required or asked of them. The lone striker also gets very isolated and ends up with no service and no support despite supposedly 3 players playing in behind him. Last year we tried 4-5-1 which just plays into the oppositions hands and shows them a respect they do not deserve and also puts us on the back foot from kick off and the obligatory lone Ranger up front. The strategy is to get the ball up the park as quickly as possible and if that means long, then so be it. We are not taking this league by storm tactically or by some outstanding style of play, we are romping it because we have spent so money on a bunch of players who should be playing at a higher level.

No no, you are right mate, it was horrendous, i was just curious as to what period Purslow worked at Liverpool because they have been run almost as badly as we were under Martin Bain.

We had better players than all the teams who have beat us since Ally took over, football is simple but not that simple. It's as much a joke to say we would make the top 6 as it is to suggest we wouldn't. In fact it is just downright arrogant and ignorant and one hell of an assumption.

Was he at Liverpool during the recent Dalglish managerial campaign which was a complete disaster? Notably the signings of Downing and Henderson.

We had more resources than them all last year and we still got pumped out of 3 cups by 3 different clubs all with smaller budgets than us. This year again, pumped within a few weeks of the seasons start by a club with an even smaller budget again. We are lucky it is Airdrie this Friday and not an Aberdeen or Dundee Utd again! Forgive me for not getting carried away by beating the dross within our current league, it's only costing us the best part of £10m a year to do it!

Sure, just copy Celtic. Their European record is to be admired and they have Scottish football completely sewn up. In reality we should be taking bits from all the successful clubs around the world and finding what aspects would suit our club and what will work here. Of course we need the staff to make that work.

Our problem is too many fans refuse to look in the mirror and accept that there may be issues, and that goes for on the pitch as well as off it. We have never needed honesty more than we do now.

Good post, we have already wasted 2 years and will waste another 2 en route to the SPL where we will be found out, over spending and rushing to find excuses and people to blame for the problem when we have known from the start what the problem is. It's just that no one has any will or desire to change it. People see us winning and think everything is ok, i say it's papering over the cracks and all is not ok. What we have done to Nicky Law is nothing short of scandalous. And if i was David Templeton, young Fraser Aird or Barrie McKay and seen centre midfielders playing where i should be i would be raging.

It's not really about what's right or wrong to sing anymore, it's about parity, equality and one set of fans being persecuted whilst the other is protected.

Tims are terrified of Kings arrival. They will do all they can to stop it. If Dave wants to put £100m in my bank account i will filter it through to the club over the next few years for him. I am more than fit and proper. Thanks.

Yeah so passionate that a mickey mouse cup win at Birmingham was his best ever footballing moment. Never a Rangers man in his life and bottling it to name Celtic in that article with regards Walters is both cowardly and pathetic. Definitely sums him up. -
