Had a pint with an old school friend last weekend who has a Brighton season ticket. He said 'you can't have him. we need him'. Big, brave, honest stopper, though better on the ball than that makes him sound, good in the air and not slow. And seems a good bloke too. He's hardly the next Baresi but does everything you want a centre back to do pretty well.

Saw plenty of him for Brighton and very pleased to get him. Really decent player.

He’s decent: does everything a centre back needs to pretty well. Hughton rates him and has even tried three at the back to accommodate him alongside Dunk and Duffy who were both immense this season. I strongly doubt we’ll be the only bidder for Goldson though.

Hughton likes Goldson and I doubt he’s going anywhere unless they get cover. But everyone knows he wants to play more and he’ll struggle to dislodge Dunk and Murphy in Brighton’s defence. In what is is my first and probably last ever ITK post, Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn was mentioned to me as a possible loan. Might go nowhere, of course but I believe the interest is genuine
