  1. Political decision-making, both in Scotland and the U.K. have taken a turn down Elm Street at Midnight.
  2. The system as is,... is plainly NOT fit for purpose and I think the recent general consensus is that there will be change for next season. For me there has to be transparency and fair consistency when it comes to citing players. What is effectively, 'trial by Sportscene' is an embarrassing disgrace. I'd televise the panel debating the various cases to better ensure consistency from individuals. I appreciate that won't be a goer !!
  3. "...loading..." Livestock with wallets
  4. Blatant cheating in the form of diving, feigning injury or something like Broadfoot did on Saturday tends to be (alongside spitting on an opponent) seen as the lowest of the low and in the world of the Scottish Fitbaw Hacks is pounced upon and squeezed for all it's worth. However, because Alfredo is involved, he shares the stage.
  5. With our game against them coming up, I watched the first half yesterday and thought they were very ordinary. Certainly instilled a wee bit of much needed optimism regards the upcoming game if we can come out with the right mentality.
  6. A united front wrt organisation and better weather = well attended demo That would leave pitching it correctly and broadcasting it to as wide as audience as possible.
  7. One of the reasons the spiv era went on as long as it did was down to the lack of political unity or gumption within the Rangers support. Included in that was a well attended Rangers Fan demo at BBC Scotland somewhere around October 2011. A demo that's message was hijacked by a very mistaken decision to publicly defend Craig Whyte after the PQ documentary that revealed the 7 year directorship ban. Fair play to those who turned up on Saturday and they were certainly unlucky with the weather. I'm not in a position to criticise anyone for not going, sat here a long way from the rain of Glasfgow. More broadly, I think the recovery and modernisation of the club at various levels was always going to take longer than many hoped or envisaged. There are many forces lined up against us, both on and off the field. The positive is that I think we are moving forward, all be it, slowly . As far as fan representation is concerned, after the predictable teething problems, Club 1872 looks like it is starting to find it's feet and I always thought that in time other things would grow from that, eg. public but indirect link with club that was able to lobby with a reasonable success rate (similar to CQN). The Judea Peoples Front nature of our fans groups over the past decade has left a mark and there are many who simply see a set of initials and don't want involved. It's one of the scars that won't heal quickly. I think Patience and Realism are still very much required both on and off field. We'll get there if we are prepared to show a reasonable degree of P&R and the only thing that threatens that is if we try to continually force things in too much of a hurry.
  8. Look at his time at Bayern Munich without Messi or Money (in amount relative to direct CL competiors) where he didn't make a CL final and tended to get THUMPED in semi-finals or DUMPED by a Diego Simeone masterclass. Let's see how the CL goes this season..............
  9. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said it is "incredible we are fighting for everything" after his side reached the FA Cup semi-finals in dramatic fashion to keep their quadruple hopes alive. Pep, have a look at the above graph,.... it ain't that incredible ! Guardiola is obviously an excellent coach but his success is down to two main reasons. 1. Messi 2. Money
  10. Watching the post match video, SG sounds like he's running out of things to say. The next game is at the BrendanLessbeu and we've got to get things right for that game and at the very least, be competitive. If we were to take a comprehensive beating the alarm bells would start to sound. Playing away from home might actually work in our favour.
  11. Interesting graphic We appear at the beginning and keep a close eye on it at 45 seconds
  12. Rangers fans protest at BBC coverage with demonstration at Pacific Quay headquartersRead more at: https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/teams/rangers/rangers-fans-protest-at-bbc-coverage-with-demonstration-at-pacific-quay-headquarters-1-4890580
  13. This is an updated list from a week or two back. It was 6 wins from 17 and is now 6 wins from 20 Won 6 Drawn 9 Lost 5 There needs to be an upturn in those numbers before the end of the season or SG will come under some pressure.
  14. He's not match-fit so anything we get from him today will be a bonus. SG is going down a risky road.
  15. Won't be seeing Defoe and Lafferty together then.
  16. Not at all keen on that midfield. What has McCrorie done to be so far down the pecking order ? Not for the first time, a lot depends if Morelos comes to the party.
  17. You've just surpassed the level of comedy that is at the root of this latest sub-dispute
  18. When in charge, I think taking responsibility extends to doing something tangible about it that goes towards a solution.
  19. I think it's more a matter of wanting him to do something about it that works. I think the repetitive nature of certain negatives becomes frustrating
  20. EPL TV deal starting to have an effect on CL.
  21. Probably the same as when we beat Celtic with a great performance. --------------------------- What remains of the season is difficult (in terms of opposition) and we either come together as a team and meet the challenge or the whole show might start to unravel.
  22. Our problem is that we haven't the finance to bring in those one or two that are sure to make a big difference. To bring in players who were very good but are way past their best isn't the way to go either. We have to build a squad, coach players and make them better. However, this is where we don't have much of a track record. It seems to be very difficult for players to handle the pressure and demands of playing for Rangers. It also seems to me that the demands are too great for a succession of managers because a lot of the time, the timescales aren't realistic. There is no magic button, it'll take time and how ever much anyone shouts that there is no time, it won't change that.
  23. Like when it actually has something to do with the subject matter.
  24. McLean had been letting a few tackles go throughout the match. He might argue that he was consistent in that and that he was looking to let the game flow but doing that would be taking a risk that it might lead to exactly what happened re. the Hibs equaliser or a bad injury. A foul is a foul and they should be awarded, period.
  25. Is that some kind of wind-up or are you a method actor ?
