12/01: American businessman Robert Sarver pulls out of running
buster. replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
This soap opera has had it all. We even had court appointed administrators who criminal charges have been brought against. -

You are struggling again BH. If one refuses to learn from poor past performance then you are more liable to repeat your mistakes. I pointed out that your use of what AJ had to say was somewhat selective, unbalanced and without just qualification given the impression you painted. If you did this knowingly, then why ? -

You often point to historical track records and CV's wrt individuals involved or looking to be involved with Rangers but yet you pointedly ignore advice from someone with a 100% record in the relevant area. -

You don't mention that AJ said some other things about Sarver regards his approach to takeover Rangers. For your own benefit I would caution you on selective quoting from individuals wrt supposed 'suitors' of Rangers. Scepticism and vigilance should be the standard approach for Bears. After your own experiences of falling for bullshit from the boardroom, it might be wise to learn lessons. -

I centre my scepticism on the lack of credible detail on motives, plans and necessary finance going forward. A lack of detail should be met by scepticism, it should be standard. -

Don't buy that DR could sell him the idea to throw millions at a bottomless pit with a raging fire burning most who go near. Another American came, looked at the books and fled. Further down the line, the situation is worse and we suddenly get this guy without a good reason or a viable plan. Sorry, but as it stands, it smells of shite. -

Mr Sarver, have you or any of your advisors, employees or associates ever spoken to Mike Ashley, his advisors, employees, associates or anyone at all connected to MA ? -

Ok Mr Sarver,...................to start with, please fully explain why you want to take over Rangers and a detailed plan going forward, including an outline of how you propose to finance that over the short and medium term giving us the numbers your due diligence expects the club will need in that time. -
Puts you in mind of our NOMAD(s) where some employees seem to do walkabout from one name to another. Not connected with WH Ireland, but another lesson of the last few years to add to the taking little notice of 'good CV's' is that company names aren't sacred and seem to change frequently, why ever should that be ?

- I thought some of the PR blurb that came out in the last few days was from a very familiar script, eg. info that David Mason relayed. (Alex Barr is his spindoctor) - The (personal) statement made a lot of the David Robertson angle, quoting numbers from his career but didn't tell us enough regards his motivation, which I can't figure out. - The timing makes it into an effort to keep Rangers minded men away from Executive Control. -

I close the circle of tonights contribution on this thread by going back to my first......... ......."Like many of our support, you aim your 'barbs' in the wrong direction." Try to keep on topic please. -

Let's get back to the thread and the strange interpretations of Corporate Governance by our Chairman, Mr Somers. -

Wrote the above yesterday. Very much with the AJ line on this. Until you earn Trust with Real Transparency, plans and money................you simply don't get any, it should be our default setting. -

... more from FF. Ashley is making sure he's in the strongest possible position before any negotiation and won't go cheaply (if he goes or 'does something else'). The onerous retail/commercial deals with Ashley will be like a lead weight at a time when we need as much revenue as possible. Ashley will not only want the deals to remain in place but he'll want any board to vouch for them and discourage 'boycotts' of merchandise. For which he'll concede something (needed facesaver) but I doubt it will be enough to make the contracts in the best interests of the club. -
Rumours abound that Fullerton and Lawwell have them locked up in a second floor office at Hampden.

Several things from recent months suggest Ashley was preparing his ground for what was coming. Still a large obstacle with onerous roots, difficult/expensive to extract.

Ashley is a man of more means than Sarver but is still a 'fly by in full daylight chancer'. Look beyond the numbers. -

Here was me thinking that the corresponding week, eight years ago in 2007 with Barry Ferguson being dropped / six fingered sulates / PLG leaving after 6 months and a Dunfermline Cup Exit was up there in the 'significant weeks in our history'. How many times has it been trumped since our soap opera started a few years ago ? We should start a 24 hour rolling news channel dedicated to Rangers. -

We'll get it or have received it, when it's in the best interests of MA for us to do so. -

Dont have a clue about this bid or person but what David Mason writes above tends to ring alarm bells wrt the customary 'spin points'. I'm not saying that it would be David Mason that is spinning, he may simply be using some info given to him indirectly.
