  1. Dont have a clue about this bid or person but what David Mason writes above tends to ring alarm bells wrt the customary 'spin points'. I'm not saying that it would be David Mason that is spinning, he may simply be using some info given to him indirectly.
  2. A cursory glance at McMurdos activities on the web suggests a man who trades on his written word, his ability to make others believe in what he is saying and then to carry them with him on a journey that may be rewarding in some way for the author himself. I don't think it a coincidence that he is a preacher for Financial Abundance and also advertises various PR services. The link between them both is a strong one. Many have been 'burnt' by this ongoing soap opera, McMurdo Jnr. is another to add to the list. Coming soon:.........A twisting and dubious excerise in revisionism.
  3. Going back to the way the club used to be run simply isn't viable or does it give good value for money. All going well in the next few weeks,........there are huge financial challanges ahead and I think any new board would need to bring in a new business/football model that is geared to break-even and develop/improve footballers. Ironically some of the proposals in the 120 day business review are worth considering regarding the football operation.
  4. For once I agree with you. Firstly, not one of the 'good guys' sits on the board yet. Ashley can be unpredictable and there is much yet to be done . Secondly, if and when we get (most of) our club back, there is a huge challange ahead, both on and off the field with tens of millions of pounds needed. The numbers involved preclude major fan involvement beyond the spend on match-day and perhaps, merchandise. They also mean that anyone putting MAJOR money forward wouldn't be for giving their stake away, or at least I doubt it.
  5. The same old struggle for executive control that always depends on the collective will of the fanbase. That collective will is needed by the Bear Consortium whilst Ashley/Easdale Block need a divided fanbase that continue to spend the blue pound. This time the sp.ivs are worried and on the backfoot. The support are beginning to see through them and importantly see a credible alternative step up and buy a large stakeholding, that when added to others is even bigger. The line that quattro was trotting out about the Laxey stake being powerless and hence the Bears consortium will be the same isn't true. Firstly, there ae a lot more shares held by Bears that would join the 16.32%. Secondly, and this is where the collective will of the fanbase comes into play, they can position themselves in such a way and number that show other institutional shareholders what shareholder group best to follow regards the ongoing revenue generating potential of the business. I think that a clear message regard the second can have the Bear consortium hitting the 51% mark.
  6. Judging by that article, Toxic is struggling to engineer even vaguely credble spin and has of late, had his puppet jumping from one place to another. One thing he is trying to do here, is to give 'doubting disciples' reason to stay aboard the Ashley/status Quo train by discrediting the Bears who have just bought the Laxey shares and their MO. There are many now seeing that Ashley isn't the only alternative (previous line peddled) and have to be re-convinced of why they should back him. The Bears need to continue in the way they have operated in the last few weeks and the under the counter Toxic slant (the Judas Blogger) will have to change. Note that there is no positive argument made on behalf of the Ashley/current status quo in that McMurdo piece, nor does it refer to many events and facts that have happened/came to light in recent weeks.
  7. Laxey partners chairman Colin Kingsnorth confirms he has sold his 16% stake to the Three Bears: "I sold because a fans-based group were hopefully going to be the best placed to take on Ashley's power. After Ashley removed Norman Crighton, Ashley's most vocal critic, it was obvious David Somers was just a wet fish agreeing anything Ashley wanted. I am sure the Three Bears are an upgrade on us for fans and hopefully this is the start of the ownership being in the right hands." Laxey statement is hard-hitting and adds fuel to the SFA case against Ashley.
  8. Well done to the 'good guys' involved in and around events of the past few weeks, for the playing what appears from the outside to have been a bit of a 'blinder'. Question for Rab........Good to see the SFA acting in the best interests of Scottish football, don't you think ? ------------------------------------------------------- Many hurdles still to be jumped but if executive control is secured, a very challanging situation regards finances is faced.
  9. Probably not unless there are two willing parties, they could be threatened legally or the company in which they resided was liquidated.
  10. Indeed it is some good news and on the face of it, well engineered. Unless there are other shareholders willing to invest, it's difficult to see how they refuse this offer. Ashely is more accustomed to autocratic executive control and shadows but his priority will be to keep his onerous contracts being serviced. This goes for others aswell. The presence of Rangers friendly directors would surely look to get a precise handle on the books/onerous, take stock and look to address matters where possible. This is where there would be conflict but I'm getting ahead of myself.
  11. We'll be told that we need MA to make money, otherwise he won't be able to throw all those squillions at us 'further down the road in the CL'.
  12. According to the club then, this would mean that paying a quid for the shirt sponsorship rights is more normal than paying a pound for the stadium name. Ashely the Billionaire likes a good deal,............... for him ! ps. Well done Craig, it's the only way shareholders and fans will get any type of transparency.
  13. What is the punchline...........Do you think it part of another cabal wanting to bring Rangers down ?
  14. It'd be ok if he was acting in the interests of RIFC and ALL it's shareholders......but we know that won't be true.
  15. The latest 'Dream Team New Board' are going the same way as the last one,............ and the one before that............ Anyone see a pattern ? ps. hats off to Roddy Forsyth who has taken the bull by the horns.
  16. Bah Humbug Enjoy !!
  17. From a Hearts supporter who knows what he is talking about.............. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . "Romanov actually had interests in three clubs, Hearts, FBK Kaunas in Lithuania and MTZ Ripo in Belarus. While he was ultimately recognised as the “Owner and Operator” of Hearts, he was never a shareholder in his own right or even a director of Hearts. His shareholdings were always held through a third party, e.g. HOM 2005 Ltd and UBIG. It was the SPL themselves who changed the rules in order to be able to sanction Romanov for his rants against the authorities by defining the “owner and operator” of the club. If I recall correctly, Kaunas was actually owned by Ukio Bankas, which Romanaov only owned 33%, although this was increased to 51% in 2010 and 63% in 2012. His involvement with the third team of MTZ Ripo was through his companies being the major sponsors of the club."
  18. This paragraph is wrong, or at least the way I'm reading it, it sounds wrong. To me, it gives the impression that the EGM was called on the 12th. The letter from MASH Holdings Ltd. requesting an EGM and the removal of Wallace and Nash was received on the 7th of October. It was then announced to the market on the 8th, two days before the leaked e-mail was sent.
  19. I very much see what you are getting at but the e-mail involves more than just Somers. Nor do I think this would be a route of his choice. Noising up shareholders at the AGM, yes.
  20. "Rangers chairman David Somers pleaded for Mike Ashley takeover to succeed, emails reveal" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/rangers/11311642/Rangers-chairman-David-Somers-pleaded-for-Mike-Ashley-takeover-to-succeed-emails-reveal.html Fot full Roddy Forsyth article, click link above -------------------------------------------------- This isn't just about Somers though, it goes deeper.
