  1. Did you ever see Jack Irvine enter the 'Stasi training centre' ?
  2. Over the years, the use of players for PR is a subject in itself, however I do think that there are players who will lend their voice or simply shout themselves because of love for the club and/or knowledge of 'X' whilst there are others who may do it for other reasons.
  3. If true, that would explain the way Bill McMurdo Jnr. was pushing Hately yesterday. It would also say something about the proposed 'membership scheme'.
  4. ....................................
  5. Rather than being for 50 pounds or whatever, I took it as someone who is employed/retained simply towing the partyline. Nothing unusual in that, only I'd note that no ex-players seem to be coming forward for the club voluntarily and the extent to which our friend Bill is pushing it on his blog. ps. I'm not undercover, I looked for my customery username on here but it was taken. Am I that easy too spot ?
  6. Whilst everyone is entitled to their view what we appear to have here is a 'conflict of interest' of sorts. I watch the interview and see Mark desperately try and include 'the need for immediate ST money' an uncomfortable and unnatural amount of times,...much more than would be the case in an interview that hadn't been staged for that reason.
  7. Could well have done GS. Just remember it being at 21p on the day. So if GW had bought shares on the day he joined, by the time he published the the business review (world record/longest timescale in relation to shortest document) he'd have needed a 100% increase in share price just to get back on an even keel. That 100% figure figure follows Mr.Wallace around
  8. The day GW was appointed the share price was at 42p. The day he delivered the business review that appeared more 120 hours than days in substance the share price was 21p. Re. Timing / credit card snub The business review said.......... The Board believes that one of the major factors influencing the merchant acquirer to change its terms was the extensive negative coverage of calls in some quarters for supporters to refrain or delay purchasing season tickets. http://www.rangers.co.uk/images/staticcontent/documents/RangersBusinessReview.pdf Last week GW on twitter said........ GW: Just to be clear, fans were not blamed for the withdrawl of the credit card facility. The review said that negative comment in the media was a factor in the Club's credit card provider seeking security over Ibrox. When will the board start taking responsibility and stop blaming other people ? "Stockbridge is great"............................................"it's all his fault" "The fans are great"................................................"it's the pesky fans fault".........................................."we didn't say that"
  9. There is a saying about waiting for a bus, then two come along at the sametime. Here's hoping but I have my doubts anyone will want tuther one despite the efforts to drum up a suitor.
  10. Does anyone know if Wallace has ever been asked/answered the questions on the selection procedure that brought him to Ibrox. I recall that pre-AGM Somers was asked this question and said he couldn't remember but post-AGM he somehow recovered his memory and volunteered the info as they rode the 'wave'. The answer being that he was recommended by Daniel Stewart (Nomad). ps. I hear the financial problems of DSLtd have gotten worse.
  11. The 8th incarnation of the sp.iv board will have taken over and we'll be playing in the Junior League. Meanwhile Merlin and the 'Usual Suspects' will be telling us that we can trust them this time, honest........
  12. He did have Green's number and we should have starved them out at that point. What Brown referred to has ended up as a contingent liability/stadium noted in the latest audited accounts.
  13. A real diehard Rangers man by the name of John Brown has also spoken today. He won't have done it for money but out of love of the club. He also had Green's number from day one.
  14. Two ex-players have come out today and spoken. You have John Brown, diehard Rangers man who isn't as articluate as some but speaks from the heart and a degree of knowledge when he says "Rangers supporters must not give this board a lump sum of money". A man who knew that Green&Co were 'bad' and unlike onthers, got up and tried to do something about it. On the other hand you have Mark Hately, ex-player who was recently or still is connected to the club being put forward and given his lines about pushing ST's for an RTV piece. A stage managed piece from which I'm sure Mark won't go away empty handed, one way or another.
  15. Not as much as Charles Green&Co haunts your goodself. Do you fully trust the current board as you did previously ?
  16. Quite a lot of first team experience in that Hearts line-up. The lad Paterson is a handful
  17. He was certainly employed/retained by the club a year or so ago,......... I don't know if that is still the case. He's obviously been asked to do the interview so as to push ST's. Perhaps this is the start of a wider sales-drive.
  18. From Bill's blog................ Having read the comments of MH, to say Bill is over-egging the pudding would be generous. Btw, isn't Mark employed or retained by the club ?
  19. Thus far the ST marketing drive has certainly been low-key this year.
  20. Sounds as if they come around about once a decade, the same frequency as decent European runs.
  21. It's a little ironic that some seem to worry more about unsubstantiated claims of someone taking back part of what he put in rather than huge sums money of club income/IPO cash actually going out of the door without apparent and proportionate return.
  22. The fundamantal motivations at executive board level at the two clubs are different and from this, trickles down MO, behaviour, type of fan engagement, etc, etc. The other day I mentioned the term " a perfect storm" (after 40 months of rain) regards all-encompassing and ongoing matters at Ibrox. Today the term may be "the (uneasy) calm before the storm" regards the current impasse.
  23. Broadly speaking, yes and all the better if they can put some meat back on the bone. One for you, two for us, one for you, two for us................(arithmetic is imprecise) Keep it going and squeeze until another stage comes to an end. All the time we continue to fade away.
  24. Agreed and it leads into / ties in with my first post on this thread. Wrote the following on another thread......... (Sharks for Wolves)
  25. Permit me a small bit-part illustration. Ann Budge / Day One Talks of the future based on academy/ good scouting system and appoints chief scout. Graham Wallace / Day One Signs a contract with a 100% bonus clause based on 'foggy criteria'. GW / Day 156 Talks of the future based on academy/ good scouting system and appoints spin-doctor* I think it very revealing that the current board prioritize spin and that it goes to the heart of the matter........... No meaningful transparency or sufficient truth that in turn leads to No trust. * Tyrell was actually appointed a few days earlier.
