Our shares are suspended on PLUS, are they not?
-
I am looking forward to Thompson giving a couple of big decisions our way and to us beating them for the third time this season.

"Fuck sake guys (Paul Clark and David Whitehouse). Youse couldnae administer a plaster"

To Gary Withey: "Could ye no have used the spellcheck Gary? Says here we don't do wanking away"

"Is that an MG05 in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?"

Was that a reply...?

Ok, so its unconditional acceptance of the exclusivity fee, but the structure of the actual bid could be conditional?
-
Not sure I follow you. Admins require unconditional bids which may be conditional?
-
I get that and I agree - they have professional standards and ethics to uphold. However, this does not necessarily mean they are competent. And I would hold back on commenting on their competence until we know the end result.
-
My reading is that none of the bidders have so far met the terms unconditionally because it is simply not sensical to do so. Why pay £0.5M for exclusivity when there is no real exclusivity to it? This, along with their dallying, appears to be why Ng has cried off. And when you consider the reported sums of money that each bidder is racking up with regards to professional advisors, why should any bidder be required to pay such a sum to prove they are serious?

That is OTT and doesn't really make sense. Aided and abetted? Are you suggesting he is involved in some conspiracy to see us liquidated?

No preferred bidder - latest D&P statement included (Page 3)
stewarty replied to Jim1955's topic in Rangers Chat
I don't know him but he has provided information in the past regarding various talks held between supporters groups and various protagonists so I'm inclined to say yes. -
I think the point has been raised before but it appears that D&P could actually accept both bids and make them both preferred bidders. Hence part of the issue with the exclusivity fee is that it isn't actually an exclusivity fee in so far as that it makes their bid exclusive. Although I may be wrong

What reputation?

Little wouldn't even be getting this chance if it wasn't for administration and associated financial woes. Healy was a gamble I'd say, to provide back up. When he's had a wee run he has scored goals so I think its harsh to criticise overly.

I was reminded of The Untouchables and Sean Connery's famous line "Its the Chicago way..." Did a quick wiki search for quotes from the film. I'm sure there's a sketch/parody of D&P/Whyte in there. [Malone and Ness talking about how to get Capone.] Malone: What are you prepared to do? Ness: Everything within the law. Malone: And then what are you prepared to do? [During George Stone's interview to join the Untouchables] Malone: [piercingly] Where are you from, Stone? Stone: [smiling] From the South Side.Malone: "Stone?" "George Stone?" That's your name? What's your real name? Stone: That is my real name. Malone: Nah, what was it before you changed it? Stone: [his smile fading] Giuseppe Petri. Malone: Geez, I knew it! That's all you need - an italian on the team! Stone: [offended] What's that you say? Malone: I said that you're a lyin' member of a no-good race![stone angrily slams Malone's clipboard out of his hand, whips a revolver out and puts it to his neck as he draws a baton]Stone: [coldly] It's much better than you, you stinkin' Irish pig! Malone: [to Ness] Oh, I like him. Ness: Yeah, I like him too.[Malone shakes hands with Stone] Malone: You just joined the Treasury Department, son. Stone: Yeah, okay. Nitti: [About Malone] He died like a pig. Ness: What's that you say? Nitti: I said that your friend died squealing like a stuck Irish pig! Now you think about that when I beat the rap. [Walks off, combing his hair. Ness, enraged, grabs him and pushes him off the roof] Hey! What're you doing! Hey! HEY! [he falls, screaming] Ness: DID HE SOUND ANYTHING LIKE THAT!? [Ness sees Malone toying with a St. Jude medallion.] Ness: What is that? Malone: [surprised] "What is that?" Ness: Yes, what is it? Malone: God, I'm with the heathen. [shows medallion, with a key on the chain] That is my call box key, and that is St. Jude. Stone: Santo Jude. He's the patron saint of the lost causes. Malone: And policemen. Ness: Patron saint of policemen? Malone: Everybody needs a friend. [Ness has just shot a gangster during the raid at the Canadian border.] Ness: I had to kill him. Malone: Oh, yeah. He's as dead as Julius Caesar.[sees Ness is still not at ease] Malone: Would you rather it was you? Ness: No, I would not. Malone: Well, then, you've done your duty. Go home and sleep well tonight. [Ness confronts Capone, along with his son and several thugs] Thug: Something you want here? Ness: My friend was killed today. Thug: I don't care. Ness: You don't care?[Ness punches the thug out, and gets restrained by two others] Ness: Now he does. [to Capone] Come on here, Capone! You want to fight? You and me, right here?! That's it, come on! What's the matter? You afraid to come out from behind your men, you afraid to stand up for yourself?! Capone: You want to do it now?! You want to do it right now?! Ness: Yeah! Come on, you son-of-a-bitch! Capone: What?! You talk to me like that in front of my son?! Fuck you and your family! Ness: Fu--[Ness goes for his gun, while all of Capone's thugs pull out their guns and point them at Ness] [Ness confronts Capone after he is found guilty] Ness: Never stop! never stop fighting till the fight is done! Capone: What'd you say? What're you saying? Ness: I said, "Never stop fighting till the fight is done"! Capone: What? Ness: You heard me, Capone. It's over. Capone: Get out. You're nothing but a lot of talk and a badge. Ness: Here endeth the lesson. Reporter: They say they're going to repeal Prohibition. What will you do then? Ness: I think I'll have a drink.

Its the Duff and Phelps way...

In fairness, Whyte has shown no respect for the club, its fans, the SFA, HMRC, SPL, the media or anyone else for that matter; so I had no doubt that he would ignore this hearing.

The big tax case - decision this week? Impact on bids?
stewarty replied to bigy's topic in Rangers Chat
The trouble is that is word is completely unreliable. On the one hand he makes declarations of innocence, and on the other he admits guilt. On one day he denies something ever happened, and the next day he is proved wrong and is forced to admit he lied. CW is trying desperately to mount a charm offensive by saying things like "I wont be difficult to deal with" along with other vague platitudes. But the fact is he still owns the shares and D&P appear to be no closer to resolving the situation. -
Pat Nevin read on an extract from the rule book last night on Sportscene. There is more detail about whether the hand is a natural or unnatural position. There is also chat about judgement as to whether the player has sufficient time to react - i.e. ball to hand would not be classed as a foul/penalty if in close proximity and with little or no time to react.

Could we have been more canny with our old debt?
stewarty replied to Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose's topic in Rangers Chat
What has killed us has been the shitstorm of MIH, and in turn the club (per AJ), being pressured by Lloyds for the club to be sold to a new owner; that owner being a complete shyster who made a number of false promises, gambled on Champions League income to keep the club afloat in the short term (imo) and then had to use monies due to HMRC for PAYE, NI & VAT as well as increasingly desperate financing deals with the likes of Ticketus and Close Brothers to maintain the facade of control. All the while he has weaved an increasingly complex web of company securities and solicitor accounts to protect his interest and further reduce the risk he will not get a pay off for his trouble. How CW can be seen as anything other than a morally ambiguous chancer is beyond me. -
To be expected. Have D&P made ANY announcement within the timescales they set themselves?

Boycott message seems to be growing rather nicely at the moment
stewarty replied to BAP1872's topic in Rangers Chat
Playing anywhere other that in Scotland is a non-starter in my opinion so we are stuck with them. The only hope we have is for genuine change to occur and the merger of all governing bodies. Oh, and for idiots like Regan to get the boot. -

Do we want favours though? I don't. All I want is for a level playing field in terms of rules in respect that they are not changed mid-season, or simply because other clubs sense blood.
