Thats my guess too. The fact he has pulled out so quickly after being named PB really adds another nail in the coffin that is D&P's reputation. A bit of hard nosed negotiation would surely have sniffed out that he wasn't serious?
-
They've continued to sniff around. BK has had talks with CW too. And correct me if I am wrong, but did BM actually have exclusivity? I'm sure I read that he didn't.
-
For all their scepticism, I think thats a bit of a leap of faith to assume it was the RST who have caused this. It seems his reasons for withdrawing are unclear at best, flimsy and worst.
-
Maybe, but it would seem to me that if he had the courage of his convictions, had the clubs best interests at heart (like he was at pains to make out that he did), he would have got on the first plane to Glasgow, conducted his business first hand with the administrators, progressed the deal and communicated his plans to the fans. For all the noise from some fans who are not happy with his outline proposal (not that I am suggesting they are wrong to have concerns, because I do too), there were plenty of others who were supportive. As I say, if thats all it took to put him off, god help him us if he was able to complete the takeover.

Yup. I also don't believe that the information provided by D&P would have given a pretty accurate picture of the club's finances. Anyone getting access to it would sign non-disclosure agreements and it clearly would not be in the interests of the admins not to be forthcoming with any reasonable requests for information or further clarity, in order to progress the bid which they said would provide the best return for creditors.
-
An easy get out, IMO.
-
There was clearly something not quite right about his bid so I am not entirely surprised.

You wot?

D&P handed over a "dossier" of information not long after we went into administration.
-
Am pretty sure he is owned by DU.
-
My first question is the legality of this. If the purpose of administration is to make the maximum return possible for creditors in the first instance, and to preserve or "save" the company if possible; how can footballing creditors be given preferential treatment (i.e. all football debts are repaid by the newco) over other creditors such as HMRC and Ticketus. The difference in amount of money available to redistribute on an equity basis to other creditors may not necessarily be significant but logically I can see why creditors may challenge this. Ergo, all creditors, regardless of the amount owed, should be treated equally.

This is all just vested interest dressed up as faux-morality. I have every confidence that we will be in the SPL next season. This ploy is to stoke up tensions which will in turn inform the negotiating position of all other clubs through media and fan pressure.

A speculative post on McConnville's part. It may turn out to be true but for me it just highlights the obsession of the average Celtic fan in all matters Rangers. -

Maurice Johnston and Kenny Miller didn't do too badly for us. -
Good lad. I've been impressed with his runouts. He looks solid and could be a centre half for many years to come.

I'd class myself as in the "enjoy reading some of the stuff he produces" category. He has always been scattergun and prone to baffling pronouncements. But he occassionally goes on wee runs where he hits every target. He contributes to the ever increasing Rangers blogosphere and long may that continue. -
Along with every other player who took a wage cut, not even considering his contributions to our UEFA Cup run in 2008 and 3IAR, he is a legend. Long Live The Sasa!

Too early to say. So many things that are unexplained. So many of the things that have apparently been explained in the past from a variety of bidders, has unravelled almost as quickly as it was hurriedly explained. On that basis, it can be nothing other than a "time will tell" from me. Craig Whyte's shares, Ticketus, the FTT, HMRC being the most obvious issues that will determine whether BM will succeed.
-
But that aside - good Work Chris (Fury)!

The trouble with Speirs is that he saves his most controversial nonsense for his writing. Most of what he says out loud is generalised and he plays it safe so as to make it difficult to have make it easy to have a real pop at him. Which makes it all the more baffling that he keeps on being asked to appear on these things - all he is, is a troll.

Ok, but if the RFFF was to act on behalf of, say season ticket holders, debenture holders and any/all creditors who are unsatisfied with progress?
-
What legal recourse do we have regarding the appointment of D&P? Could the RFFF QC raise a motion to the Court of Session to challenge this? What evidence is there to prove that D&P are stalling?
-
Reluctantly I would agree. If true then so much for Brian Kennedy's promises to be a stopgap that prevents liquidation.
