McLaughlin went from number one to not being good enough. McGregor was finished and is now back on top form. And then McCrorie gets a new deal and you start to wonder if that pushes McLaughlin out, even though he signed a new deal earlier in the year. Weird how things changed over the course of September.

Given he saw it at full pace and was right next to it, I’m not surprised. -

No arguments over a red card. Can’t quite believe he looked so affronted -

SPFL move to cut Rangers out of vote on SKY TV deal

This whole thing has been riddled with contradictions since they first floated it. They went and spend a no-doubt 6-figure sum to Deloitte to research that the game is being undervalued. So to on the other half of their forked tongue, make out that locking in a deal that continues to under value the product… at a time of high inflation which is only going to make it worse… defies any sort of logic. the other suggestion that PPV extras needs to be tested is also bogus. It already has many times over. This is propaganda, and it is amazing to see so many clubs fall into line to be fucked over. -
Sadly, I agree. Constructive criticism is to be welcomed, but c1872’s credibility is receding faster than my hairline in my late 20s/early 30s.

There may be some limitations on what can be said in such a forum but the accounts will provide more detail, up to a point. Having been a little underwhelmed with a lack of detail in part 1, that continued in terms of the financials (as expected), but it was useful to refute some of the rumours on the American “investors”, and it was useful to reiterate some of the broader investments that are eating up a lot of cash. I’d prefer more info and more regular communication so Hoping this is a start as without it, nature abhors a vacuum.

It may be a minor point in my view but it is a little irritating that when they try to do the right thing, they contrive to miss the mark in how its released. Hoping part 2 has a little more substance though.

The bottom line is we need a result. Of secondary concern is who actually plays, but if fit, I'd like to see Davies, McCann and Yilmaz get minutes. King too.

What do you honestly expect Rangers to achieve this season?
stewarty replied to Graeme Ro55's topic in Rangers Chat
Liking the optimism, even if I'm struggling to share it. My expectations are a strong league challenge as a minimum, as is a strong run in the cups. Agree there's a lot of potential in the squad but the "if we can get him fit" refrain is all too common with so many. -

We needed a reaction from the team and we got one. We must build on this come Saturday.

As well as we being on UEFA's "watch list" for sailing very close to the wind in terms of FFP (or whatever they're calling it now), its prudent for the Board to be wary of inflation and its unknown impact on our short term cost base. Other financial unknowns (at least to us) are the particulars of the settlement with Ashley, the capital needed for New Edmiston House, any new/significant maintenance costs for Ibrox and Auchenhowie, new contracts for senior players, amortisation of previous transfers as well as previous losses which we have racked up... and thats before you get to the shitshow that is the SPFL's TV deal renegotiations which continue to hold us back financially and will do so over an even longer period if they gerrymander it through. Despite all of that, I was disappointed we didn't manage to make at least one more signing before the deadline. My gut feel was there should have been scope for it, but I guess we will need to see what the accounts say to get a clearer picture. We seem to continually shoot ourselves in the foot from a communication point of view though. The Board should know we are hyper sensitive on financial matters and read the room by providing more timely information rather than waiting till the pitchforks are drawn.

There may also be UCL group stage qualification bonus payments triggered with sponsors, though doubt we will get much detail on what they are.
