  1. Seems to have corrected itself.
  2. I'm not criticising Greig; I'm having a pop at fans nowadays.
  3. He did well in Europe, so I'd suggest his level is higher than Scotland. It's not as high as we think it is, though.
  4. Five league titles in seventeen seasons. We'd rip the p*sh out of him nowadays.
  5. It logs me out when I refresh the page sometimes, then when I refresh again I'm logged in.
  6. I know. I initially had an 'X' but then thought, f*ck it, let's really lean into the x-D.
  7. My x-D (expected denial) may be high, but I'm seeing shades of Ancelotti's Milan: X [Shevchenko] - Lammers [Inzaghi] Hagi \ Dowell [Kaka] Jack [Gattuso] - Raskin [Pirlo] - Cantwell [Seedorf] Yilmaz [Jankolowski] - Stirling [Maldini] - Goldson [Nesta] - Tavernier [Cafu] Butland [Dida] We just need a Shevchenko, and a dirty b*stard to cover for when Jack gets injured...
  8. Former Scotland, Manchester United and Leeds United defender Gordon McQueen has died at the age of 70. McQueen was diagnosed with cancer in 2011 and dementia in 2021.
  9. Or just allow B-teams in the professional leagues like Spain and Germany.
  10. The Lowland league is a low level of football, but I always thought that the benefit of playing men would make up for that a bit, alongside playing against the top academy and B-sides in Europe. I suppose we're just going back to playing those other B-team matches.
  11. "Rangers has long been a strong advocate for the introduction of B Teams in the professional leagues of Scottish football, with a Conference League being an excellent step in that direction. Nations across Europe operate similar B Team systems with strong evidence of their development of players at club and national level. Indeed, all 10 teams who contributed most to the development of players for last year’s World Cup have B teams operating in national senior leagues. The desire from all at Rangers to have a B Team in the professional leagues remains as strong as ever. Our view on B Teams was also strongly supported by the Scottish FA and its CEO Ian Maxwell, who recognise the clear, beneficial impact B Teams have on top international sides. For 18–21 year-old footballers, our research and the evidence clearly shows the best path for their development is playing professional football in professional leagues. A Conference League would have been a positive move towards that."
  12. After 115 pages the transfer window is officially open!
  13. I agree with you, but Cantwell falls into the 'looking to get their career back on track' category. There are options out there. I would prefer younger players with the potential to sell on.
  14. Last 365 days. Here's the 21-22 Europa League stats:
  15. Whatever floats your boat...
  16. I'm of the opinion that the stats would have shown des ingrédients de bonne qualité that may not be initially apparent from a surface level look. Alas! I don't have access to stats that go back that far. Nevertheless, sometimes players just click in their surroundings.
  17. Leicester have made a £2.5M bid for Blackpool's Jerry Yates.
  18. I had a wee look at Ryan Kent - unfortunately FBref doesn't have stats from Scottish football, only our Europa League and CL matches. Lol.
  19. Rodgers set to make a return... ?
  20. I agree with your first sentence, and partly agree with your second - or, you're right, but I disagree on how relevant those barren seasons are. Like I've argued, his xG is actually quite low. To put it another way, no one can score 20 goals from 2 chances, not even Haaland; it's impossible. His xG will be a lot higher with us, because he'll get more chances. What's important is whether he can take them. History suggests he slightly under-performs his xG. If we give him the chances, he'll score more than half of them.
  21. Of course it's a chance. That's a fact. Without that insignificant 5-yard pass, KdB doesn't have the shot. You can go deeper, though, and look at xA. In your example I would presume the xA would be quite low; it's not likely to result in a quality chance.
