  2. It says it all when I'm disappointed to see Halliday come on for a 18-year-old. First time seeing Barjonas and he looks a real prospect; composed on the ball and has a bit of grit about him.
  3. I think you were right Craig: Confidence team. We're playing some brilliant stuff.
  4. One more goal and it's mine... my precious...
  5. Looks to me more like a 4-3-1-2, or 4-2-2-2 which has been quite good. The interplay after that first nervous 25 minutes or so has been top class; Windass, Miller and Toral's link-up especially has been very good. It's the final ball - Tavernier especially has been guilty of wasting good opportunities. Waghorn is better when he's moving and running at a defence, not holding it up, which is strange for a man built like a fridge!? The youngsters do not look out of place at all - does that mean they're good prospects or an indictment on the rest of the team? Pleased to see Wilson blootering someone.
  6. Watching the scoreline and remembering my prediction like...
  7. I like Toral as a player, but he needs someone harder beside him.
  8. Could be 4-4-2 diamond with Windass as No.10? Alnwick Tavernier - Wilson - Bates - Beerman Holt Barjonas - Toral Windass Miller - Waghorn
  9. You sneaky B******! I'll need to change my prediction now; you win if we have the same prediction!! Screw it! 2-3 Rangers! same FGS.
  10. It'll come good today...
  11. It all comes down to this... St Johnstone 2 - 3 Rangers FGS Miller
  12. Rousseau

    Naismith?

I think Naismith would be similar to Miller's role now... but better. He's not a goalscorer, he's not a wide man per se, and he's not even a natural No.10, he just sort of floats about the front line.
  13. I'll post a thread after the completion of this season for us to discuss possible changes for next seasons prediction league.
  14. The top players wait until the final moments...
  15. We can always have a think about changing it if a few players agree. It was only Scottish Cup this year and it gave players a chance to pick up a few extra; it's pretty tight if you remove YB and myself...
  16. Looks like I can only win on points...
  17. PC's team selection's have been unorthodox to say the least, but I think they've been forced. Injuries to the back four have meant he's had to play youngsters; the positive there is that they've done not too badly and we've actually looked a tad more solid. We were light anyway in midfield -- both in terms of numbers and physicality -- so he's been forced to play certain players, like Miller and Windass, out of position. He's been ruthless with players too, and clearly doesn't trust some of them; Halliday played a couple and was shafted, same with Holt -- he seems to prefer Barjonas at the minute. I'm not sure the formations have been "puzzling", because it's clearly a 4-3-3; which, again, I think is forced. MW played that way and has players more suited to that formation, like Dodoo and Waghorn; again, PC seems forced to adopt it too. Ideally, he'd like to play 4-2-3-1 with a more compact structure but we just don't have the players to do so. Positives? He's managed to incorporate a bunch of youngsters into the team; we're a tad more solid defensively, despite having the same crap; we've generally scored more goals; there's a directness that we've wanted for months, which maybe goes too far at times, but I doubt this side's capable of playing better any other way; he's managed to get the best out of Garner and the youngsters, who don't look out of place; he's tactically versatile, willing to change when he gets it wrong, or if some players are not doing it, or we just need to change it depending on the opposition. There are positives if we choose to look. I'm mystified as to this reaction to a man that's just in the door, and been saddled with the same chronically under-performing team. (Apologies -- it was a general point that seemed to morph into a response to JohnMc!)
  18. A good few youngsters came through at the end there, more through necessity than anything else, but they've done well. I wasn't able to see the game, but a few are suggesting Barjonas did well?
  19. The penultimate game of the season ends with only Gribz and compo gaining 1 point each for predicting the Correct Number of Rangers Goals. No one got the Correct Result, FGS or the Correct Score. It's all square at the top between Rousseau and Yorkshire Bear going into the final game! Latest Standings: IFRAME Not Available. 20. Rangers 2 - 1 Aberdeen FGS Garner
  21. How can you not love him? He's a psycho: [tweet]863359020446429184[/tweet]
  22. I think it will definitely be a 4-2-3-1 with Pedro, with a few changes here and there depending on the opposition. Our current "best" side in this set-up is probably: Foderingham Tavernier - Bates - Wilson - Wallace Holt - Toral Waghorn - Miller - McKay Garner Clearly, there are a few players (a) not good enough, and (b) playing out of position (or © leaving!). I don't know where to start? We need new CBs, FBs, DMs, RM, AMs and STs. I think we really need a couple of strong, imposing (with ability to pass) DMs as priority; take care of that and our defense is passable. We need someone to finish too, but I still think Garner could still work if we play to his strengths as PC indicated. We're not going to be able to replace the entire squad.
