  1. Looking forward to seeing him play. Not sure where he would fit into the side, he is being compared to Michael Carrick, did he not play in the holding role at Man U?
  2. Great result today. Takes a lot of pressure off everyone. Ironically we have probably played better and lost. Good to play against a team for a change who’s sole tactics weren’t to kick us off the park.
  3. I think Morelos needs a rest. I believe he came to us on the back of a full season in Sweden and had no break whatsoever. He doesn’t look anywhere near the player he was 6 weeks ago. That’s not a criticism, I think he is the best signing we have made since 2012.
  4. I was actually more surprised that he brought Herrera on for Dorrans. Our shape is almost always with 3 in the middle, it never seems to work with 2 up front and 2 in the middle.
  5. For me some of the team are trying too hard for Pedro. Candias in particular, which is why he was desperate to take the penalty. I haven’t seen anything to indicate that he has lost the dressing room.
  6. It’s quite simple, if our players don’t get involved in the nonsense we win 2-0. The penalty was absolutely shocking also, did anyone think he was going to score? Stupid all round.
  7. Spot on, but Jack has got to walk away from that!!
  8. Honestly, if someone wrote a book with an ending like that you would throw it in the bin.
  9. Spot on, some people are desperate to be proved right!
  10. Good first half for us I thought. Ref bottled it when Morelos was taken out, he would have had to sent the well player off. Generally poor refereeing all round tbh. I’m watching it on a BT stream and it is brutal listening to that commentary team.
  11. Great spirit shown by the lads. Brilliant from DJ, he has made a massive difference to the lhs. Best we’ve seen from Dorrans, really pleased with that first half. Pitch is a joke btw
  12. Totally agree with Big Jaws assessment, thanks for that. Pena will be a massive player for us once up to speed, provided he stays injury free. Herreras problem is that he can't get game time due to Morellos recent form. It might be worth playing a few games with a front two just to improve his match sharpness. Where are we now? We are in a far better place than we were 6 months ago. We have a better manager and generally a better squad of players. We are still a work in progress but we will get there, I believe sooner rather than later.
  13. We need to be careful that we don't go down the paranoia/conspiracy route. Held the scum back for years and gave them an excuse for their shortcomings. There may be a couple of Refs who have it in for us but in the main it is just poor refereeing. As for yesterday's game, for me it just showed up how light our squad is. Two or three missing and we are very average. Our left hand side is very poor with Hodson and Windass, and Pena is still not match sharp though I think he will come good when up to pace. Candias was poor but I'm putting that down to the occasion as he is a much better player than that. On the plus side Ross McCrorie done well and I hope he gets the chance to progress from here. Also, Jack and Morelos put in a good shift. Biggest issue for me watching on tv was the scum fans. We need to stop this nonsense of giving them the BR stand. For me Club 1872 need to poll members on this issue and take it to the board if change is demanded.
  14. The major disappointment of tonight was the complete lack desire to win the game. A winning attitude was the supposed to be the major change that Pedro was going to bring to the table. We were a team looking for a 0-0, if that came from the manager then it's unacceptable. If it didn't then he has big problems. For the life of me I can't understand why, especially in the first half, we weren't peppering their goal with long range efforts. The sun in their goalies eyes was blinding. I had sunglasses on and still had to shield my eyes to see. It's not rocket science, it's common sense.
  15. This tactic of playing forwards in midfield isn't really working. Hopefully it's not a long term plan from Pedro
  16. You could have put your mortgage on Waggy missing that
  17. Decent 1st half, Toral making a difference in midfield. I wonder if we have agreed to keep him on next season?
  18. There should be a cap on how many players you can loan out at any one time. Also on squad sizes.
  19. Great article, just finished watching Ken Burns Civil War documentary on Netflix so could relate to the opening. Looking at the lineup shows just how light we are with options at present. In midfield especially we seem to be down to the bare bones. I must admit I don't go into this game with any real confidence. Last week, barring the result, was awful, and Windass in particular looked out of his depth as well as unfit. I don't know what the answer is but maybe giving some of the lads who are out of favour, (O'Halloran and Forrester come to mind) a chance to impress or put themselves in the shop window would be an option. Garner and Dodoo up top in a 442 would also be my preference.
  20. We have a lot of strikers who look capable of playing in a 442 but not many other systems. From what we have seen, a front 2 of Garner (puting himself about, good in the air) and Dodoo (good at finding the net) might make a surprising pairing.
  21. The suggestion made earlier about offloading some shares to C1872 to reduce the shareholding sounds like it would work in the short term. The problem will come when they try to turn the loans into equity I would think.
  22. I don't get this 'no one will sell' angle. There were plenty of people who were given shares for next to nothing. What if Ashley decides this is a get out, DK has to give him 1.5million. Similarly the Easdales another 1.5m ish. DK doesn't need their shares, he has control of the club, why the hell would we want DK to give any of these chancers anything? He has to get round this somehow, but buying out ****s is not the answer.
  23. Maybe he applied for the job and was deemed the best candidate. I'm only guessing at that but it seems far more plausible than Sports Direct giving him the job.
  24. A total rebuild would be a complete waste of money. We would be far better adding 2 or 3 players of quality.
  25. The whole argument around 'rangers class' is really irrelevant at this time. Until we have the required investment available to take players away from other teams and pay the wages that 'rangers class ' would command, we are are going to have to put up with the type of player we have. That's not to say that players are beyond criticism, Halliday in particular has been woeful for weeks now. Part of the problem being that there is no real competition for his position. I would like to see some of the under 20's given a chance just to shake things up a bit but I'm not sure which of them is capable.
