  1. Yeah, appears to be our plan A. Isolated striker against (usually) 3 towering CBs. Easy to defend against.
  2. There isn't even a hint of style. We've only won 6 of our last 16 competitive games.
  3. There isn't even a hint of style. We've now only won 6 of our last 16 competitive games.
  4. For most of last season Lundstrum was our best and most consistent player.
  5. So Clement doesn't need a system until he has gotten quality players signed?
  6. Missed a sitter from Tavs (he was the taker of the corner, so justification of mention) brilliant in-swinging corner in 2nd half
  7. Aye OK. Are you 14?
  8. We can have a style or a template for playing the game without spending money. It may not be successful, but the system needs to come first. We've not seen a style or system since Clement took over. We are slow, pedestrian, ponderous and don't have any shape.
  9. I've not drawn any conclusion, I've agreed with Clement, we did miss Lundstrum today. I'm not the one trying to justify what he meant when he mentioned Lundstrum and never mentioned experience. I'd argue its not experience we need, it's quality. If a player has both, we've own a watch. As an example, I'd rather have Barry Ferguson in Advocasts 1st session (inexperienced) over John Lundstrum. I'd rather have Steve Davis over John Lundstrum (quality and experience). None of the above negates the fact that me missed Lundstrum today.
  10. That's the most worrying aspect for me. Given the time Clement has been here, there is no hint of what our playing style is. The quality of the players within the system can always be questioned / improved upon, but we need a system first and foremost.
  11. I don't understand, I used Tav as an example, OK change Tav to say Lawrence, and my point stands. As for Ridvan, am I not allowed an opinion? It's OK for other posters to constantly post negative comments on Tav, Lawrence, Davies, Dessers etc, but I get pulled for saying anything bad about Ridvan. My last mention of Ridvan was a comment on Jefte. If we are signing players who aren't better than those currently here, we're fcuked.
  12. So you have to be experienced to lead the team out of midfield? Utter nonsense, how experienced was Barry Ferguson when he led our midfield? You just need to have quality. You're right it is stupid and you know Clement was correct, we did miss Lundstram today and we'll continue to miss him until we sign a quality holding midfielder. Diomande and Barron did well today but neither of them are a #6. I originally posted the comment as I knew people who jump to his defence (rightly or wrongly). Now imagine the difference if Tav had said the exact same thing.
  13. No it wasn't - he named a specific player and NEVER once mentioned experience. Read what you posted and show me where he mentions or even hints at experience?
  14. Clement and has staff have been here long enough to be / take responsibility for players fitness (or lack off). We've not got rid of much of the rubbish, most moved on as their contracts have expired. We've only moved Goldson who I'd say is better than Souttar, Davies and Ballogun and Lammers. We have two possible #10s refusing to play for the.club or not welcome to play (whatever way you want to put it) and both on a hefty wage. If they aren't moved on, we have two unhappy players on our hands sitting doing nothing and getting paid handsomely. We now have 3 players injured, Raskin out for a while, Sterling hopefully fit soon and Cortes unknown. We spent £1.5M on a striker who is as far as I know not even training with the squad as he was signed with an injury. Meaning we have 1 fit striker. I know and understand he is one for the future but wouldn't that money have been better spent on a striker who is fit and would be able to contribute? This would have allowed us to move on Dessers or Danilo. If Jefte isn't deemed a better option than Ridvan then he shouldn't have been signed. This was never going to be fixed in one window, but as yet, we are weaker (or on par) as we were last season. Given we are into the season is unforgivable
  15. I've not - that's exactly what he said.
  16. Did he? Why not say that?
  17. "We missed Lundstrum today". That comment isn't from a poster on a forum, or a faniat the game, it's from our manager.
  18. So how long do we give the management staff to get the players fit? As professional athletes, fitness should be a given. If we are giving the manager and therefore the team a free pass until Sept / Oct are we writing off this season? Be as well as Celtic will have disappeared over the horizon and we'll have missed out on CL qualification. We all knew what was required in the close-season. We have been far too slow getting the squad we require.
  19. 1 good cross every game. You could say the exact same for Tav. I know I'm in minority with Ridvan, but I just don't see it with him. He is constantly injured and when he plays offers very little. Both full backs need replaced as a matter or urgency, but same could be said for most positions.
  20. I'd only give Butland, Barron, Diomande and Lawrence (2nd half) pass marks. Souttar was our best defender, but basically just the best of a bad bunch. Weak down both flanks, Cortes injured (again), Matando an enigma, Tav regressing alarmingly (as is the team) and Ridvan simply not good enough. So much work required and any new additions need to head and shoulders above what we currently have. Manager also needs to decide on a playing style and starting 11. He has spoken about rotation, we need stability not constant changes week in week out.
  21. You could label Ridvan as exactly the same to be fair. We are very poor down both flanks at the moment.
  22. Shouldn't everyone receive a "pity" point for having to endure watching that game?
  23. That's some turd polishing.
  24. So we start this season like we finished last - looking like a team with no structure, no playing style, lacking in fitness and picking up injuries. If this is an indication of how the season is going to pan out, it's gonna be long painful one.
  25. It's the lack of structure and playing style that is the most worrying.
