  1. The DoF role is definitely one we've never really gotten right. I think like you, the DoF should be the one person who decides when players are sold and who has (I hate the term as its a Ross Wilson one), succession plan for players and managers. Regarding the CEO, again it's about having the forethought to know who will replace them BEFORE they leave. We appear to be a reactive club rather than a proactive one (that goes for more than recruitment). I believe the Academy Director has still to be filled (I may be wrong), so there is another pivotal role within the club. As for communication, I don't want answers to every detail yesterday. The question around how long we are going to be at Hampden isn't an insignificant issue - it may impact how we start our league campaign (it's critical we get off to a good start) and worse, could see us play our CL qualifiers there. A couple of vague holding statements aren't good enough.
  2. Can't believe we are 7/15! What's the draw as a matter of interest?
  3. Agreed, but one of those various reasons isn't because the fans want them sold.
  4. I agree but what if we couldn't replace those core group of players with better quality, do we sell them / get rid of them just to dispell grumblings from fans? Basically that's the stage we are at today. If successive managers have seen something in those players (rightly or wrongly) to keep them then on and continue playing them, should their judgement be trusted? It goes down to @Rousseau point about having a DOF who has final say over incomings and out goings but that may then lead to conflict with the manager.
  5. I've stated that numerous today, last week, last month, last year yet get accused of not, so welcome to the club.
  6. Thanks for pointing that out, no counter argument so I'm assuming you agree (or are trolling)
  7. I have, if you can't see it, then I'm done pointing it out. But for clarification ; - horrific player recruitment. - horrific management recruitment. - horrific decisions allowing a manager complete control of signings. - poor use of the little disposable income we have. - horrific decisions in boardroom (steel for Copland, Celtic Friendly etc). - silence from the boardroom. - etc, etc, etc. If you think all of the above are off the mark then fine. Of if you think all of the above aren't the root of the problem then fine. However, I think they are and I am as entitled as anyone else to hold these or any other views without being repeatedly "miss-quoted" and asked to clarify, when I've posted the same things numerous times then accused of banging on about them. Not much I or any of us can do about the above and in retrospect, maybe a good thing we're playing at Hampden (how long for again - oh that's right, we've not been told) as at least I'll have a terrible view of the football on the pitch.
  8. I have, numerous times, so God forbid I do so again and be accused of "banging on about them".
  9. It would be rather silly and that's NOT what I said. The entire squad from 55 onwards (and previous to 55) have been labelled, by some fans as serial losers, cowards, bottlers, woeful etc. The vicious circle will continue - those deemed as serial losers will be sold, their replacements will become the new targets (see Dessers and Lawrence) but the root of the problems will continue to be overlooked. If you or anyone else is happy to do that then fine, but others are allowed and justified to direct their frustration and ire at other targets within the CLUB.
  10. The board simply has to do things better. I've not said we require a new board (I may THINK that we do), but can you honestly say the board are doing a good enough job?
  11. 100% but only if they are replaced with better quality. If they aren't, the downwards spiral continues.
  12. Gary Stevens is the best right back I've see play for Rangers (Sandy Jardine was coming to the end of his career when I started watching Rangers on a regular basis). However, to believe we could attract a player of his quality now, we are deluding ourselves. Pity tho...!!
  13. And you keep replying - not sure why..... 😀 if you don't like it or agree with it, post a counter argument or simply just ignore it. The clubs a mess from top to bottom, we are playing an unspecified amount of our home games away from Ibrox (possibly our CL qualifiers), our Chairman has been in hiding for over a year, we've several key roles still to be filled, we can't sign any players until we move players on, we have had a shit-show of a pre-season (with 2 more games to play), our injury curse has struck again and we look in a worse state than we were this time last season. Too many fans focused on moving on the "serial losers" (their term, not mine) and assuming that once they have been shifted (sold, paid off) that everything in the garden will be rosy. On the playing side, things may change over the coming weeks, but it's hardly ideal as two weeks today we kick-off away to Hearts at Tynecastle and we still don't know who will be in and or out, who our best starting 11. As usually I'll be in the minority (and I'm more than comfortable with that) but I've not been this disconnected from the club / team since the Spiv and Murray days.
  14. But the majority of the "serial losers" are away (if Tav and Goldson go), so surely everything will be OK? We'll canter the league and conquer Europe. If you mean CLUB rather than TEAM then you're 100% correct.
  15. Buzzin for the season starring....
  16. Nope, Tavernier decent right back, but not a wing back or a midfield player. And a team full of right backs is just a silly idea......
  17. Neither Ridvan nor Lawrence are good enough to play left midfield or left wing back in my humble opinion.
  18. As long as its far way from Rangers 😀😀
  19. So 3-4-3 with a left wingback (or left back in midfield) and bo right wingback? Interesting.
  20. Sure Clement said the starting 11 today would get 75mins, then those not starting would get 75mins against Birmingham mid-week.
  21. Injured according to managers interview on RTV yesterday
  22. My nephew has just been promoted from his junior U20 team to the 1st team - hopefully Rangers are watching him 😀
