  1. Yes, but what performance improvements are required to win the league? Better recruitment, Better player trading model, Better backroom staff, Better fitness levels, Better medical staff to reduce injuries and reduce time taken to be fit, Better backroom staff and specialised coaches, Better financial management, Better short, medium and long term planning That's just a start, but yeah, in short just win the league 😤
  2. Yeah, KPIs would work.
  3. Their football structure is far superior to ours and its false to state that their financial security is simply down to having free access to CL money. Their player trading model is vastly superior to ours. Sure they make some mistakes, but usually they are moved in quickly. They also have a knack of selling players on at the right times and making profits on them. Most of the mistakes you mention above are high profile boardroom mistakes. These need to be reduced dramatically and a published (high level) short, medium and long term business plan wouldn't go amiss.
  4. The point regarding our wage bill shows those in control of Rangers need to be held accountable for their terrible decisions. I've no idea how any eclxternal investment would impact FFP but out board would need to navigate a way through that if it is an issue. I think Beale, Gio and now Clement have shown we can't do any better with what we have, we need something different or we'll continue to be 2nd best.
  5. Problem is, what youngsters? Lowry got 30mins during the week there so he's nowhere near fit. Lovelace has fallen off the radar and rumours are he wants a return to England. King has had sufficient chances to impress and doesn't loom good enough. Leaves Rice and McKinnon, so they may get some game time
  6. Butland - sell if anything over £12M Tav - sell to Saudi if rumours are true otherwise let us contract expire. Barasic - leaving Yilmaz - move on as injury prone so can't be relied on. Souttar - keep Goldson - see Tav Davies - see Yilmaz Balogun - release Lundstram - release Jack - release Raskin - keep but last chance saloon Diomande - still to be convinced he is worth £4.5M. Sterling - keep Lawrence - stuck with him Cantwell - see Raskin Dowell - see Lawrence Wright - release McCausland- keep Sima - try to get him on loan again Cortes - as per Sima Roofe - release Silva - release Matando - see Cantwell and Raskin Dessers - keep Danilo - keep Lammers - hopefully sell Hagi - see Lammers Sure I've missed a few but shows the work the Clement and his team have in front of them
  7. Not Saudi (unless its Stevie Gerrard 😀 or from a source that can be verified - like exiled Rangers fans), but don't think anyone can deny that we are in urgent requirement for external investment.
  8. It could be argued that consecutive Rangers boards, going back as far as SDM'S moonbeams and then being "duped" have been negligent and haven't pushed us forward on or off the pitch Meanwhile on the other side of the city they continue to outperform us domestically and financially. They have also set the political and media narrative whilst we continue with our stiff upper lip, dignified silence. Some fans appear to be happy with the above and for the life of me, can't see why. Have been saying this from 55 season, the board really need to step up to the plate. I don't mean personally finance the club, but find investors who help drive us forward. At the moment their policy appears to be hoping we win the league with as little net investment as possible, which as we've seen again isn't realistic. If nothing changes, we'll be in their shadow for the next two decades, as well as having been in their shadows for most of the last 15 or so years. That's the painful truth kf the situation.
  9. To be fair to the poster he knew about the JB transfer to us well before anyone else. I think it's unrealistic as well but if we get anywhere near that, we have won a watch.
  10. I'm sure that there are a few other Butlands out there. This is the issue we have, we hold on to him for another year or two and due to his age, his value decreases and fans will sat "he should have been sold earlier". If there is a substantial offer on the table for JB (or any of our players) then we simply have to accept it.
  11. The fee the guy is quoting is £21M - probably not all "up-front" but anywhere near that is a brilliant fee.
  12. The guy posting the information mentioned this and also said he knows or is a relation of JB. If its true, its a great example of how a player trading model should work.
  13. Aye, it's Kenny Miller....... Seriously though, it's either someone has inside knowledge or they got lucky with an educated guess. Always hard to tell. As an example, there is a poster on Follow Follow who broke the Jack Butland transfer in the summer well before it hit the media. He is now claiming Butland is returning South in the summer for £21M. Some people believing him, some others "dissing" him.
  14. Whilst I would mostly agree with that, some of the football we played during 55 was the best I've seen from a Rangers team in decades. To counter that, some of the performances in cup competitions that season were up there with the worst 😀
  15. Well, everyone apart from Beale apparently 😀
  16. We were in a far worse state when SG took over. Walter Smith, two season apart, had a very poor record in Europe. Just like successive Celtic managers over the last 2 decades. This night not be a view shared by others, but personally I'd rather have 2 decades of domestic domination over a decent European record.
  17. All valid points, but you and others are misunderstanding my points. I've not made any case for SG being a great manager, or one we should bring back. However, it's undeniable that he quickly found a way to regularly defeat Celtic. Since returning to the top league, SG has managed us to 8 out of our 10 victories over them. PC is sitting at 0/3 and any gambling man would bet their mortgage that it'll be 0/4 come May 25th.
  18. Wouldn't take any of them, but there is merit to your idea regarding Barron - wouldn't be the worst move.
  19. Shankland, Armstrong and Barron and we'll be set to conquer all.
  20. He had to, look at the squad he inherited. Walter Smith had more to spend and lost to "Malmos" in Europe regularly, that make him a bad manager?
  21. Not arguing those points - but he's the best manager we've had since coming back to the top division.
  22. Where did I say he was such a good manager? He inherited an absolute shitshow, got us winning in Europe and got us beating Celtic regularly. He then won the league without losing a game. Maybe if the board had backed him after 55 we might have defeated Malmo, but we'll never know. When Gerrard left we were top of the league. As for selling off players (or not) how's that Gerrards fault? Yes he should have won more trophies, but I'd say he's the best manager we've had since returning to the top flight.
  23. I'd take a league over a league Cup every day of the week. And hate to break this to you, but if we are to "win hings", we're going to have to beat Celtic more often than not.
  24. Was the same before Gerrard took over, and he quickly changed that feeling. He realised that controlling the midfield was key to winning these games. In his first victory in December 2018, we had a midfield of McCorrie, Jack and Arfiled. Not the.most skillful 3, but all could battle. He managed to install a mentally in the players which served them well and that then spread to the supporters. Let's not forget his last OF win was just before he left for Villa, he managed a 1-0 win with a covid ravaged team and masterminded the victory from his sick-bed. We need a manager who can recreate this, and I have my doubts the PC is that man - 1 point out of 3 games backs that up.
  25. Since returning to the top flight we have won only 10 OF games and 8 of those were under SGs tenure. The other 2 victories were a Scottish Cup semi-final win in extra-time and a 3-0 win last season. Say what you want about SG, we quickly worked out how to defeat them on a regular basis. In fact, he had them fearing playing us.
