Every manager we've appointed since Ally McCoist, and maybe even including him was a "project". They were wild punts we hoped would work out. Given we've hired, 9 managers in the last decade (both interim and full time) who fall into this category, what makes you think the board will suddenly change strategy or direction? Without the correct footballing structure in place, we are relying on non-footballing people deciding who the next manager is. That's an issue that has to be addressed before we appoint the next full time manager.
-
Because its obvious he's not the right man. Under Gerrard, he quickly got the better of Celtic and we were improving . However if the fans got their way, he'd have been sacked before winning the title. Do you honestly believe simply removing Beale and replacing him with the next "project" manager the board have in mind will see us win the title in less than 2-3 years? If you do, what makes you think this.
-
Most are out of work for a reason, the same reason MB should be out of work. Can't agree, a DoF needs to be in place before the new full time manager.
-
100% and we are nowhere close to these basic things being in place.
-
It's not, but if it doesn't happen, then what? Sack them? There has to come a time when we give a manager time. It's not Beale, so the pressure is on the board to make the correct choice when replacing him. Firstly we need to employ some good football people to run the football part of the business - this will take time to implement. Next, those football people need to employ a DoF and a coach / manager we can get behind. Again, this will take time. Doing it in any other order r any other way, doesn't make sense to me. However, if there is a better way, I'm open to being convinced. Whilst this is happening Beale will either be sacked or kept in place. If he's sacked then it's probably an interim manager we should be looking for.
-
No I'm not - your the one making things up. Beale isn't going to win us the league and needs sacked. However, his replacement might win us the league given time (it isn't going to happen overnight, we are so far behind them). Will you give the new manager two to three years to win us the league back (as it may take that long)?
-
But it will matter - cast your mind back to Gerrard. He was making progress, we had Celtics number, but still couldn't win anything. A majority of Rangers fans wanted him sacked and if lock down hadn't happened, I'm sure he was going to be sacked. He is the only recent manager who has been given time and he managed to win the league. Rangers fans will not tolerate another 3 years without winning the league and any new manager will understand this and know that as soon as results go wrong, the lynching mob will be out. Its now part and parcel of managing Rangers.

And if Alfie had been fit for that EL Final, we'd have won that game in my humble opinion.
-
It might have been but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Kamara at £50K was never really a gamble and we finally got £5M for him. Alfie was th one who maybe should have gone then, he was in his prime. I don't know to this day if we ever received a firm offer for Kent

That may be true, but there is another rumour that Gerrard was promised funds. In fact if you watch his interview after we collected the trophy at an empty Ibrox , he says as much in his interview with Emma Dodds on RTV. I also don't understand why we would have wanted to dismantle a team that had just won the league and had been unbeaten in that league campaign. It would have been better to have added really quality to that squad, not rip it apart.

Match Thread [FT] Rangers 1 (Sima 75') - 3 Aberdeen

Fine, but I did so thought a discussion forum was somewhere I could bring it up and discuss it. In the grands scheme of issues at the club, its miniscule but worth mentioning nonetheless -
But there are signs now showing that the whole club is sliding into a sh1tshow. Why the reluctance to appoint a DoF? Who within the club has the footballing knowledge and understanding to take the footballing decisions required to move us forward? I'd say that is a bigger requirement at this moment than a DoF . We are fast approaching our 10th manager in 12 years. Doesn't that indicate that there is a deeper and underlying issue? SG was given significant time to win the league, which he eventually achieved. A majority of Rangers fans wanted him removed and only lock down saved him. After securing 55 the board stood back and admired the achievement whilst Celtic reacted and we are still paying the price for that. The rot has set in, it can be fixed but the rot is spreading rapidly through out club.

But they could have delayed it. It just seems that no one actually thinks before we do anything anymore. -

It's getting the ballance right though. It would be great if they understood the club, but they also need to be good enough to help us win trophies and compete in Europe. Not saying there aren't players who would meet that criteria, Lewis Ferguson is the one that instantly springs to mind. We missed out there 100 % -
I hope he proves me wrong, but he reminds me of James Beattie when we signed him.

This week, instead of removing Beale, Bisgrove released a soundbite regarding increasing the capacity of Ibrox. At this rate, he's going to have to reduce the capacity. Then we decide its the ideal time to release a 4th kit. Talk about reading the room. I'm sure I read there was a fan engagement meeting on Thursday night but not heard the outcome of that. -
This is from someone who is ITK according to another forum. Interesting if true.

Yip, and all those decision need to be made at boardroom level. We'll see over the next days and weeks how capable the board are -

I'm sure Beale does care about Rangers, maybe not in the same way that you and I do. The board need to add footballing people to run the footballing part of the club. They wouldn't have Graeme Souness running the commercial department would they? -

Same can be said for the manager...... Bisgrove is an employee, if he is not doing his job he should be replaced (same as the manager). Not having DoF is a stackable offence IMO. -

I understand that, but I've seen no evidence in any defence of the board, other than its their money. That's simply not good enough. Any Rangers board should have a plan a, a plan b and a plan c. This board, led by Bisgrove don't appear to even have a plan a No Rangers board should be above questioning or scrutiny. -

I've said repeatedly what I want. I think what I want is what most Rangers fans want. A winning team on the pitch playing great football. However, tonight, I want Beale to be sacked and a new imaginative manager announced along with a DoF and a proper structure put in place relating to out footballing department. However, I am of the opinion that our board are incapable of delivering this, and the longer they hang on to Beale shows that any succession plan is not in place (if it isn't then heads need to roll). It would also be preferable if the fans gave the new manager and DoF some "breathing" space to get things right But apparently that makes me angry, needing the approval of millions and a moonhowler.
