  1. I'm a church going Presbyterian who is proud to be Scottish and British who supports Rangers. To me these aren't necessarily linked to others they will be linked. I'm not afraid to champion all of the above, but they are my personal opinions which I chose not to "force" on others.
  2. But each supporter will have a different answer, defining characteristics will be different between supporter to supporter. To me it's the charity work the club undertakes, to someone else it'll be the links to loyalism and royalism, to someone else it'll be links to Union Bears or ICF and fighting fans from other clubs, for someone else it will be family tradition. There are endless answers, not just one. All legitimate answers and all personal to each fan.
  3. The reality is Rangers are many things to many people. From simply a football team to a whole identity, and everything indetween. There isn't and shouldn't be a "fixed" identity but we should always embrace or history and our "culture" (perceived or otherwise"). We should and are a "broad church" and the "identity" will change generation after generation. Things that should remain constant are our charity foundation and the work it does locally, nationally and internationally. This work has rightly received acclaim locally, nationally and internationally. There is no right or wrong answer to the original question.
  4. I have participated and your initial post was probing other people for their views. It is what it is I guess. Goose and Gander and all that.....
  5. I don't really understand your replies or your reluctance to answer the questions if I'm honest. Never mind, it is what it is.
  6. So how would you describe the Rangers brand or clubs primary attributes (currently)? And what is the reason for so many finding it difficult to describe given you said in the opening post that it would be "subjective"?
  7. Maybe slot into the centre of our defence....

Didn't watch it either. However, that he did the interview supports the thinking that he isn't going to be sacked any time soon.

But it doesn't have to be that way. We claim to be more than a club, we claim to aim for "best in class", we claim to be a family. We're not, but we should and could be.

I'm not searching for anything other than the custodians of OUR club to talk to us fans on a semi-regular basis. Don't think that's asking for too much.

But what about fans who are shareholders? Given that Bisgrove has confirmed that fans are the biggest financial contributors to the club, we deserve to be engaged. Otherwise for fans its pay up and shut up. What a terrible way to treat your paying customers.
  13. I must be younger than you 😏 😁 I said in my 1st response, in my opinion the work done via the Rangers Charity Foundation is certainly part of our identity. Whether that's sufficient for others, that's up to them to decide As for direction? That's the boards role to identify and get the supporters "engaged".
  14. Personally, I believe the Rangers Charity Foundation is the standard for our "brand" and "values". They / we support local, national and global causes and the work that the Rangers family do with Erskine is another pillar of our values. Historic association with Royalist and Loyalist causes is still part of a % of our fan base, but like all historical links, gets diluted generation after generation. Our reputation in Scotland has never bothered me. We were "disliked" as we were once seen as the establishment club and we are the most successful team in Scotland. We are now disliked as we are seen (rightly or wrongly) as the last and largest bastion (is that the correct term) of Unionism in Scotland, so we are a threat to Nationalism, SNP and independence. There may be a few generalisms thrown in there, but that's my viewpoints!

It's important that THEY speak to US.....

It does of they refuse to talk to shareholders (as they have with Club1872).

So only accountable to shareholders who they believe aren't a waste of time, and only at AGM? Not very accountable are they....

So why are they refusing to meet Club1872?

I think we a know what the club can and can't "engage" with fans on. I don't think any fan wants the board to discuss and engage on every opinion or release sensitive data etc. However, complete silence from the board is unacceptable. There are many long-term issues and problems surrounding our club (well publicised) that are continually ignored (or so it seems) by the board. We have a ticketing system that is not fit for purpose, we have disabled access and match experience that is not fit for purpose, we have a PR Department that is not fit for purpose, we have match day catering that is not fit for purpose. We have a board who refuse to enter into discussion with fan groups on safe standing area(s). These are an example of the areas who the club could (and should?) enter into dialogue / engage with fans. There is bo exact answer, but complete silence isn't the answer

I don't think I've ever witnessed a "dumb demand" from any fan or fans group. Asking for engagement regarding areas of the club that the majority of fans feel are neglected (they've been named previously) are not "dumb" demands. If the board are genuinely backing Gio, asking them the reasons for this isn't a "dumb demand". The fans are the biggest financial contributors to the club - season tickets, merch, shares, corporate hospitality, RTV, MyGers etc. The board are the leaders of the club, they are meant to set the example that all other departments follow, ignoring your "customer base" isn't setting an example, it's ignorant and arrogant.

If the board are behind Gio, coming out and explaining how and why they are backing him would not undermine him, it would support him.

We'll need to agree to disagree - on important issues like ticketing, customer experience, managers future, the board have an "obligation" to keep fans informed.

If the board truly believe Gio is the man to take us forward, I'd invite them to tell the fan base their reasons for seeing Gio as the manager to win us the SPFL title and make a constant fist of European football. In fact, I'd say the boards continued reluctance to engage with the fans is arrogant and ignorant in the extreme. A couple of car-crash interviews then radio silence doesn't constitute engagement. Enough of my moaning, I'm away to purchase a dozen copies of the Rangers v Liverpool panoramic photos....

Don't know if this has been posted in this thread or elsewhere, but decent listen.

Today I have heard that the board have given Gio a vote of confidence and also heard he will be removed this week! So as clear as mud 🤷‍♂️😁
