  1. This is what I was trying to get at. A player breaks onto the scene, looks good and we elevate them to "super stardom" and they become un-sellable. If we are to get out this financial mess, we have to sell players I used Igamane as an example as he's the latest player to explode onto the scene. A few on here use Boomsong as an example of a positive player trading model. He was, and so would Igamane. I plucked £7M fresh out of the air, but its 3 times what we paid for him so in reality, a good return. If we are serious in player trading we'd have the next few Igamane's on our radars and use the money we made to get them, then continue the cycle.
  2. Fair enough, but if Igamane becomes the next big thing to fizzle out, or be sold on the cheap, or run down his contract don't be crying / shouting about it. The situation we find ourselves in means we gamble when signing these type of players, not when it comes to selling them. See Alfredo Morelos as a prime example.
  3. I don't have a quote, but I'm sure he'd have something to say about the obliteration of the standards he set both on and off the pitch and the acceptance of being 2nd best and the exceptance of failure.
  4. I'm not, it's being banded about that we aren't selling players who are contributing in January. So are we selling them or not? Off course the answer is yes, if the right offer comes along. I'm not complicating anything - we're broke so we'll sell anyone or anything if the price is right. A £5M profit on a player we've only had for 6 months is a no-brainer
  5. Why? A circa £5M profit in 6 months - that's the model we're trying to achieve. It's not about selling players the fans don't like, it's about making profits where and when we can. No wonder we can't get this trading model correct - we never learn.
  6. So if someone offers us £7M for Igamane we're not taking it because its January?
  7. If we are committed to not selling any player who is making an impact on the pitch, surely that contradicts our commitment to establishing a working player trading model?
  8. Then we'll just have to slip a laxative in his half-time cuppa.
  9. Boooooo Don't back down, doubledown.
  10. When it started, they didn't. It was Dempsy and his dream of moving to a heap in Cambuslang.
  11. What position does Clancy play for Aberdeen? If its CB maybe we should try and "buy" him 🤔
  12. When Celtic were in the grubber their fans united to oust the board who were holding them back. This didn't happen overnight, but the fans stuck together and forced change. When McCann took over he wasn't universally liked in the East End as he talked about ending bigotry etc. He stabilised them and the rest is history. The Celtic fans don't particularly like Lawwell and his Tory pals either but I suppose when you've won 13 out the last 14 league titles, have circa £70M in the bank and have a working player trading model, it smooths the criticism a bit
  13. I thought that I read it was footballing people that Stewart was bringing in to conduct the review?
  14. I liked Tillman and have kinda followed his career. A fantastic footballer with the potential to be world class. Still believe Beale threw the lad under the bus after the Scottish Cup tie against Partick.
  15. Don't think he's started - working his notice period.
  16. Haha aye - but obviously mines is right on this occasion 😀
  17. He really hasn't (Celtic game apart). He really can't
  18. Aye true, I'd still sell Ridvan even if it meant playing a 3 legged cat at RB.
  19. I think 13 titles out of the last 14 and being 15 points ahead of us despite us just demolitioning them 3-0 is all the comedy value they need. Long live the protestors.
