  1. The way things are going I think Gio van Bronkhurst will be available soon. If Feynoord don't win the Dutch cup I think he will be gone.
  2. I think Cummings is a certainty to start. I think Murphy will be out and Windass put to the left with Cumdog and Morelos in the middle
  3. All the senior execs in Scotland are cut from the same cloth and in London nobody gives a shit what happens in Scotland.
  4. I can see the first post tomorrow after the game if Falkirk beat us. Should Murty be sacked now.
  5. I used the ferry when I went to games. i used to stay in Yorkhill Street so the Ferry was just a stretch of the legs for me. I never saw anyone falling in but in the Haugh area there was a gang called the Chunky and they used to wait for members of other gangs at the walkway at the Haugh end. One time I was walking up the walkway after coming off the ferry and I heard a cry"Drummy Derry Ya basta***" At that I was barged out of the way. when i regained my balance I saw the guy had a Frig'n huge sword. He had obviously seen the chunky guy's and decided that was the only way past. People weren't searched at games in these days so the guy must have had the sword at the game with him. I never waited around to see what happened although I knew most of the Chunky guy's through living in the area and from school. There were 2 or 3 nutters that would stand and fight and carry tools but the most were young stupid guys that would run at the first sign of trouble.
  6. I am with Bill on this I see no advantage in giving him the Job just yet. He is happy at Rangers and unless Manu or Arsenal offer him a job he will be happy to wait until the end of the season

    Welcome Thread

Welcome mate I hope you enjoy our little forum.
  9. That is the pub I mentioned in my preview and was definitely on the way down to the ferry. . http://www.oldglasgowpubs.co.uk/kaijohansens.html
  10. Everyone has their own memory of football matches. When the Scottish cup comes around one name is always the first to jump into my head. Kai Johansen. His fantastic goal in the 1966 cup final is probably one of my most memorable moments of that time. Now I won't claim to have been at the game, simply because I wasn't, but it was one of the images that has lived with me from a young age right into what I hate to say my young old age. I am not even sure how or where I was listening to the game but I can just remember the burst of excitement goung around when that ball hit the back of the net. As far as I can remember Rangers were'nt given much of a chance to win that day, and it was at the start of Celtics domination in the years to come. For years after I remember walking down the Copeland road towards the Kelvinhaugh ferry and the Kai Johansen pub standing there as a shrine. I always remember walking in awe while staring at the name on the way past and remembering that goal. I think it must be one of the most memorable in Rangers history especially for older bears. There have of course been many great and bad memories in the Scottish Cup. After 133 years every football supporter in Scotland will have some memory somewhere. Even Hibs knew they had not won the trophey since the early 1900's when they played us two years ago in the final. That one hurt. 12 minutes from lifting the trophey and then see the game turn on it's head to lose 3-2 Hopefully this will be the year we can exorcise that ghost and go on to win it this time. I know many people think that the SFA should cut all there ties with Hampden and play the Scottish internationals and Cup games at Ibrox, Parkhead or Murrayfield but for me it would never be the same as a Scottish Cup Final at Hampden Thinking so far ahead is possibly showing a bit of disrespect to our opponents Falkirk on Sunday but given the way the team are playing I am getting lured into thinking the biggest worry will be that we don't pick up any injuries before the Oldfirm clash with Celtic next week. Wrong! The Scottish Cup is a one game and a chance for these smaller clubs to produce a shock result. Falkirk are really not that small a club and have produced many surprises in the past so they are certainly a team to take seriously. Rangers managed to get a pitch cleared of snow to train on a grass surface and Graeme Murty was confident that they would get the Ibrox pitch in good condition in time for the game tomorrow. The problem may be the police stopping the game going ahead due to the condition of the surrounding areas. Winning the Scottish cup will probably be the best chance we have had to redeem our pride after that infamous Hibs cup final unless Celtic collapse in the league so we should be going in to it with all guns blazing and finish Falkirk off before they get their confidence up. C.mon the Gers. Sorry guy's I don't have time to finish this off or add to it. as I have a family emergency. If a mod wants to add to it or rewrite it that is fine. Pete.
  11. Sometimes players have to be protected from themselves.
  12. I hate when Rogic plays against us as I think he is one of their best players.
  13. Given that a bruised foot would take about 10 days to clear fully then he still has 8 days above the time he has already had. He can also have an injection before playing although i am not a great fan of that as it can hide a lot of damage.
  14. Do I need to bring ear protection?
  15. Does that mean you will give us a song next week Boabie?
  16. I agree totally.

  19. Scottish Premiership team Rangers have signed English goalkeeper Nicholas Pope on an six-month emergency contract. The 25-year-old was a free agent after leaving Burnley last 'week. Wes Foderingham has been Rangers' first-choice keeper so far this season, but with Jak Alnwick having been injured and expected to be out for the rest of the season Pope has been brought in as cover in an emergency deal. "This is a great opportunity for me and with my experience I think I can bring something to Rangers,” Pope told the Scottish Sun. "They are a huge club with a great history and I am delighted to be here." Pope started his career in Ipswich's youth system, and after being released aged 16 joined Bury Town. He signed for League one club Charlton Athletic in May 2011, before having loan spells with Harrow Borough, Welling United, Aldershot Town, York City and Bury. Pope joined Premier League side Burnley in July 2016. Last week, Rangers managed to hold on to Alfredo Morelos after after five offers from Chinese team Chinese side Beijing Renhe. The Super League side had Five offers rejected last month and SunSport understands the fifth was around the11million mark. On Sunday, the Ibrox side meet Falkirk in the Scottish Cup. If the match is postponed it will go ahead on March the 14th
  20. Yeh we should strip his vitals.
  21. One thing is sure it will not benefit Rangers.
  22. i remember him playing but I would walk past him in the street without knowing who it was now.
