  1. GUSTAVO Poyet is believed to be latest high-profile manager to express an interest in becoming manager of Rangers. The 49-year-old Uruguayan, who managed in the Barclays Premier League with Sunderland and won the League One title with Brighton and Hove Albion, is out of work following his resignation from Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua six weeks ago, and is thought to have had his name put forward to director of football Mark Allen as a potential replacement for Pedro Caixinha at Ibrox. He is now waiting to hear whether the Govan side will take the application further, with further moves to fill the position set to take place during the international break. After the failed Caixinha experiment, the club are thought to be keen to opt for a British manager, with Derek McInnes, of Aberdeen, still thought to be the clear front runner for the post. While the likes of Alex McLeish could yet come into contention, and perhaps even Alan Pardew, Rangers will be keen to leave no stone unturned and the link with Poyet is an intriguing one. After spending seven illustrious years as a player at Chelsea and Tottenham, he then spent six years with decent success as a manager in England. Recent years have also seen him spend time in Greek football at AEK Athens, in La Liga with Real Betis and Shanghai, where he worked with the likes of Carlos Tevez and Demba Ba. The father of Diego, the one-time West Ham prodigy who the club were linked with back in the days of Mark Warburton, Poyet’s ability to work with British players and Latin ones such as Alfredo Morelos, Carlos Pena, and Eduardo Herrera may hold some appeal for the Ibrox board. It was reported last week that Michel Preud’homme, the former Standard Liege, FC Twente and Club Bruges manager, had also expressed interest in the position.
  2. Feeling crap. I think I have Sinusitis. I hope the result cheers me up.
  3. I hope he doesn't get back on RTV, he was absolute murder.
  4. If it is Mcinnes then get a tenner on Moult joining in January as quick as possible.
  5. There was rumours of Miller having problems with Pedro from a very early stage and it was even thought he was moving to Hibs. Then it died down for a while until the final explosion.
  6. Was it Broadfoot that took over 1minute to take a shy after Kilmarnock equalised or am I mixing up games up.
  7. As far as I know he has settled everything in SA. As for the rest I will say anyone who has declared all taxable money or never worked black can throw the first stone. I doubt there will be many stones being thrown.
  8. Have they moved Mechelen to Holland from Belgium. That must have been some removal van.
  9. The 30% share court case is a joke. You have Vodafone Subway McDonalds and many more robbing the country mad on minute tax bills and they worry about Dave King having proxy to a few shares more than he should have. Crazy!
  10. He was injured last week.
  11. This did go on for a while though with Niko calling him a fake and O'Halloran saying his training was too easy. Normally I would say that was sour grapes but it is funny how we die in the second half in most games. I guess we will have to wait for Kenny Miller's book to get the real story from his side at least.
  12. Can I just ask? What did Dave King do to get you so angry at him. Has he had an affair with your wife? Your hatred is of that degree.
  13. That is interesting to see what Mutry thinks of him.
  14. Great mate I am sure Frankie will edit anything and add or subtract where necessary.
  15. Cheers mate. A great read as normal. The funny thing is, if we can beat Thistle and Hamilton under Mutry he will have won 3 in a row something his predecessor couldn't achieve in all his time at the club. He still has to do it though.
  16. Rubbish! No point in answering that. You have obviously made up your mind without witnessing it. The only thing I can add is set your watch and look how many minutes of actual football you get. If you think there is not 30 seconds between a team scoring and the kick-off then I will leave you in your belief.
  17. I agree that players should not have the power to bring down a manager but I will ask if there is a place to turn to if a player feels he or others are being unfairly treated by the manager. I would imagine that the DOF may now play a part in that but he was not in place when all this started. All of a sudden we are hearing of people being sexually abused to bullying in their work environment. one of the big points is that they had nobody to listen to them. Managers often use their position of power to belittle people. I know as I had a manager that I could not get on with. I will say that I am also not the easiest person to manage. but he was willing to lie and pounce on any small thing I did wrong to give me an official warning. I also found that the human resources department were backing him and not listening to me. Getting back to Pedro there are a few things I would say asks questions about his man management. Why would you ask Professional football players to turn up at 6.00am for training? I know some will say it is testing discipline but it sounds more like training soldiers to go to Afghanistan than train for a game of football. His lack of respect for people and teams also has to be questioned. Why say in the press that Aberdeen were no longer the second force before you have kicked a ball. His blast in the press about MOH and Forrester also have signs of a total disrespect for his players.. I backed PLG from beginning to end but Pedro just showed total self ego for me and was willing to belittle players to feed on it. He should have gone long before he did.
  18. They do that in the Netherlands. The referee is interviewed on TV after the game and shown a recording of his decision and asked about it.
  19. Normally it is 1 or 2 decisions per game for about 30 seconds that for me isn't a problem. In fact a lot of the time the Ref is checking while the ball is being retrieved and the players are getting into position.

Our Portuguese friends. I Know which one I would pull a few trickes to give a treat.
  22. No! My next door neighbours wife's aunty knew that.
  23. There was an incident in the Dutch cup a few weeks ago. Firstly there was a penalty claim for Vitesse (I think) that the referee denied. PSV went to the other end and scored with a ball that was hardly over the line. The referee gave the goal but asked for a video replay. He watched the goal first and saw the ball had crossed the line. then he watched the penalty incident and decided to give the penalty. He had to then chop off the goal and award a penalty. It did take a few minutes but he made the right decision in the end as it was a penalty.
  24. Video referee is the answer so the referee is certain to be right. Then you can drop the compliance officer.
  25. Yes on one side they say the Ref can get it wrong and on the other they say he seen it and dealt with it, he can't be wrong. I suppose they don't want every yellow card questioned so they put that rule in place.
