  2. Joey Barton is NOT giving up Rangers career and is DESPERATE to play for Scottish club again - Rangers have extended Joey Barton's suspension for a further week By talkSPORT - @talkSPORT Monday, October 10, 2016 Joey Barton is refusing to give up on his Rangers career and is DESPERATE to play for the club again, talkSPORT understands. According to sources close to the midfielder, Barton is fully fit and ready to return to action for the Scottish side after extra training sessions on a break in Qatar. It has been reported the controversial midfielder's Ibrox career appears all but over having been told to stay away from the club for a further week. Barton has not played for a month since being suspended by Rangers for a training ground altercation following their 5-1 defeat to Celtic. He was due back at the club’s Auchenhowie training centre on Monday after missing their last four games, only to be told at the weekend that his ban had been extended. Rangers are now considering further disciplinary action against the 34-year-old, but talkSPORT understands that Barton will still consider his future to be at Rangers until he is told otherwise. The former Manchester City and QPR man has been using his time wisely during his exile by completing ‘another pre-season’, and considers himself fully match fit and ready to play again. He has returned to Scotland from his break in the Middle East and is said to be ‘bursting’ to play. However, his future at the club remains uncertain with recent reports suggesting Rangers could pay off the remainder of Barton’s £2million contract in a bid to get him out of the club. The midfielder is also currently under investigation by the Scottish Football Association after being charged for breaking gambling rules by betting on 44 matches already during his short stay north of the border. http://talksport.com/football/joey-barton-not-giving-rangers-career-and-desperate-play-scottish-club-again-talksport
  3. I doubt we will be bringing anyone in unless someone leaves or gets injured to be honest. We have already got 5 potential CH's, 3 defensive Mids without Barton(4 with) We have enough attacking players as well and of course an International full-back that can't get a game. I don't see where we can put players without a bigger pool or dumping some off, but they all have a contract until July at least.
  4. Any takers for the Inverness game on Friday or any other games.
  5. Here we go +-16 weeks of rumours until the end of January. http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/martyn-waghorn-linked-with-january-move-to-bristol-city-after-eight-goals-for-rangers-this-season/story-29793757-detail/story.html
  6. The Rangers rejects shown the door by Mark Warburton - have they salvaged their careers? 11:03, 7 Oct 2016 Updated 13:12, 7 Oct 2016 By Fraser Wilson THE Ibrox boss was ruthless in the summer as he rebuilt his squad for life in the Premiership - but how have those cut free fared since leaving Govan? David Templeton, Nicky Clark and Andy Murdoch all left Ibrox in the summer IT was a summer of heavy change at Rangers as Mark Warburton swung the axe in preparation for the step-up to Premiership football. Eight members of the squad that won the Championship were shown the door while 11 new faces arrived at Ibrox in a hectic couple of months. The jury remains out on the new boys as Rangers take time to find their feet at the top level. But what about the departed? Football has a horrible way of making you yesterday's news faster than you can say Nicky Law. Cammy Bell The writing was on the wall for the goalkeeper from the moment Marvin Johnson's looping shot slipped through his grasp in the Premiership play-off clash with Motherwell two years ago. Bell never made a single appearance under Warburton as he recovered from injury last season before leaving Ibrox by mutual consent in the summer. But a summer move to Dundee United has breathed new life into the 30-year-old keeper who has rediscovered his best form at Tannadice, topped off by an incredible hat trick of penalty saves against Dunfermline last month. Salvage rating: 8/10 David Templeton An alarming case as the 27-year-old winger remains without a club. Templeton was earmarked as one of Scotland's brightest prospects when he left Hearts to sign for Rangers in 2012. The flying machine had made just shy of 100 appearances for the Tynecastle club and was linked with moves south of the border after starring against Liverpool in the Europa League. The move to Rangers started well but an injury sustained against Annan seemed to curtail Templeton's progress. He played a major part in the ultimately unsuccessful Championship campaign in 2014/15 but made just three appearance under Warburton last season. Templeton was released in the summer and, while he should be entering his playing prime, remains without a club. Salvage rating: 0/10 Dean Shiels The Northern Irishman returned across the Irish Sea after leaving Ibrox in the summer and signed for Dundalk in the League of Ireland. While undoubtedly a step down in standard from the Premiership, the former Hibs and Kilmarnock striker is at least enjoying European football with his new club who have made a strong start to their Europa League campaign after going so close to Champions League group stage qualificaton. Shiels has made six appearances since signing for the Irish champions and scored against Derry City - managed by his dad Kenny - in the FAI Cup semi final at the weekend. At 31 Shiels still has a few years ahead of him but looks settled playing at the top of the Irish game. Salvage rating: 7/10 Robbie Crawford Like Templeton, the 23-year-old midfielder has yet to find a club. Crawford had his contract terminated at Ibrox in the summer by mutual consent and vowed on social media to move "on to the next adventure". So far that certainly hasn't been in the football industry. Crawford made more than 50 appearances for Gers after being handed his debut by Ally McCoist in a cup tie with Brechin City four years ago. He remained on the verges of the first XI before being farmed out to Alloa Athletic last season. After making 26 appearances for the Wasps he left Ibrox in August in search of regular first-team football. But, to date, he remains without a club. Salvage rating: 0/10 Andy Murdoch Midfielder Murdoch remained in the Championship after signing for Morton last month following his release from Ibrox in the summer. The 21-year-old came through the youth ranks at Ibrox and was given his big chance by Ally McCoist in League One three seasons ago. Murdoch's early promise continued under McCoist and the midfielder was a regular in their first season in the Championship. But he dropped out of the reckoning when Warburton arrived last summer and spent the last campaign out on loan at Cowdenbeath and Queen of the South. Murdoch has made two appearances since joining Ton and has looked assured in both. He also has a League Cup semi final to look forward to with Jim Duffy's men. Salvage rating: 6/10 Nicky Law The tenacious English midfielder was released by Warburton in May and moved back south of the border for a third stint with Bradford City. Law was an almost ever-present in his three seasons with Rangers - making 116 appearances in total. But the former Motherwell player was deemed surplus to requirements when Warburton rebuilt his midfield for the rigours of the Premiership. Nevertheless Law, 28, found a familiar home at Valley parade under Stuart McCall and has made 12 appearances already this season. Salvage rating: 7/10 Nicky Clark Clark arrived at Ibrox three years ago under a huge fanfare after hitting an astonishing 38 goals in 43 appearances for Queen of the South the previous season. And he continued to be a regular on the scoresheet for McCoist in League One and the Championship before the goals, and starting appearances, began to dry up under Warburton last season. Clark was released in the summer and moved on to Bury. But, after just a month he was heading back north of the border after agreeing a deal with Dunfermline - managed by his old QoS boss Allan Johnston and his dad Sandy. Clark appears comfortable in the Championship and has struck three goals in his five appearances for the Pars. Salvage rating: 7/10 Luca Gasparotto One who has arguably improved his prospects by leaving Ibrox in the summer. The towering Canadian centre half has been an ever-present for Falkirk in the Championship. Gasparotto made four appearances for Rangers as a 17-year-old in League Two. But he never featured for the Gers first team again. Loan spells at Stirling Albion, Airdrie and Morton in the last three seasons kept the young stopper on his toes though and his summer exit from Ibrox has, without doubt, benefited him in footballing terms as he impresses in the heart of the Bairns defence. Salvage rating: 9/10 http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-rejects-shown-door-mark-8997081
  7. That is what I meant. Sorry I did say manager but I meant his business manager as in agent. Sorry my English is deteriorating.
  8. I may not have put it right. I meant that in the SFA registration there will have to be a clause about following rules. I would also imagine that in the Rangers contract that there would need to be a clause about following SFA rules. I would think that if these clauses are not in it would be difficult to sack anyone without a reason that break any stated rules. Almost with everything it states you have to read the rules but hardly anyone does it as they are mostly endless pages of things a normal person can't understand anyway. Maybe that is what a players manager should be able to decipher and explain to the player what he is signing.
  9. Somewhere down the line you will have to sign for that in a contract . Be it in your SFA registration or Rangers contract. Every citizen has a right to know the law but in occupational matters you have to sign contracts.
  10. If it is not written in Rangers rules or even if Rangers have not presented him with a set of rules to read and entered it in his contract then i doubt we can sack him without a court case. He has broken SFA rules and unless that he signed to withhold all SFA rules then I doubt we can sack him. After Black and Simomson you would think it would have been added to a contract.
  11. Maybe Ally can give him some gardening tips.
  12. Where do you guys get a week from? It states until further notice and that could mean until his contract is ended.
  13. Surprised there is not a 13year old in the team. All the best Scotland. Same team as against Malta.
  14. I have enjoyed this thread. It is interesting reading of the different views of that period.
  15. The Family McFail went to the Vatican to see the pope. They all got dressed up putting on their Green and Grey sellick tops. Once they reached St Peter's square, wee Liam pushed his way down to the front to try and get the pope's attention. He felt having his new Sellick shirt on the pope must notice him as he stood out amongst the rest. As the pope-mobile passed Liam jumped and shouted as high and as hard he could but the pope just ignored him and drove on. Then a few yards further the pope=mobile stopped and a new feeling of joy engulfed Liam. The pope must have seen him after all. The pope got out the mobile but to Liam's dismay the pope approached a small boy wearing a Rangers top. The pope knelt down putting his arm round the boy and talked to him for a few minutes. It was now a feeling of rejection and Jealousy that Liam felt as he went back to his family. The pope talking to a boy in a Rangers shirt was unthinkable to Liam. Determined to meet the pope the next day Liam toured all the sports shops in Rome until he found a Rangers shirt. Then full of new determination the family returned to St Peters Square. Again Liam pushed his way down to the front wearing a brand new Rangers shirt this time. As the pope-mobile approached, again Liam jumped and shouted as hard and high as he could. To his delight the pope-mobile stopped and the pope walked up to Liam and put his arm around him. Liam could hardly contain his excitement. Then the pope whispered in his ear. "Listen son I thought I told you yesterday to fuck off and not come back. This is your last warning now Fuck-off.
  16. I don't think I have ever been read set of rules at a job interview it is just taken for granted that everyone has basic good behaviour. Possibly if there are rules that are not everyday rules attached only to that company they will state them. I would even say the onus is on the SFA to send players when registering a copy of the rules.
  17. As I said before I stood on the terraces in the late seventies on the cold winter nights with only 15.000 disgruntled fans watching crap football. Willie Waddell was taking a lot of stick for not investing in the team. I remember some fans shouting there was no point in building a new stadium if there were no fans left. I remember that sort of sentiment.
  18. brings tears to a glass eye.
  19. I stopped supporting McLeish after the Craig Moore incident. Allowing a player to stick 2 fingers up at the club and then putting him straight in the team for a European game(IIRR) when he had just arrived back was for me the end of my support for him.
  20. I must admit I had never heard of it until Fernando got it but it does seem like a living hell.
  21. I find this a strange one. My Mum has just retuned home from holiday here and flew with KLM and they were as helpful as anything. My Mum could loosen a seatbelt but is totally reliant on a rollator\walker. When signing in they asked us if she could get to her seat herself or would they need to use special equipment to get her there. My mum could walk using the chairs to hold on too but I am sure there are many who can't. They may be able to loosen a seatbelt but are then helpless. As I say it is a strange one and not what I would have expected from KLM. I have no idea how impaired Ricksen is at this minute though as I suppose there must be a limit as to how impaired you can be.
  22. Yes Willie waddel stated that the Ibrox disaster would never happen again and building the new stadium was more important than spending money on the team. If you also look at the Gersnet Archive and then our online museum link above you will find in information and a result data-base for that period that may help you. I personally immigrated in 1980 so can't really give much information on the 80's but the late 70's were dire with crowds down to about 15.000 for some games. The rise of Fergie's Aberdeen would also play a part in the early 80's don't forget they even won 2 European trophy's in that time beating Real Madrid and Barcelona I believe.
  23. It was the Paul Gascoigne goal that broke me. After that I spent an hour lying in my bed with tear filled eyes. That was heartbreaking. I hopefully will watch Scotland but to be honest I have no idea when we are playing yet.
  24. You have to pay people for time worked. You cannot say I am not paying you the last wage. Even in instant dismissal you need to pay them until their last work day.
