Waw all that for picking up on one sentence in a post you made and the remark was not really aimed at you but in general at the Boyd will be great in a 4-4-2. To be honest i am tired of trying to explain why i, why AF, why any top manager will never buy Boyd. Football has passed on from the days where you stick a guy on the goal line and hope he scores. A good modern day striker is the first line of defence, can drop into midfield if the midfield make forward runs and makes as many assists as he makes goals. In modern football it is very important that if the forwards get the ball they can hold onto it. At the speed of today's game, it is just as dangerous when a striker loses the ball as say a left back. I would rather see 6 players scoring 15 goals than one player 25 goals. Putting it into crazy proportions lets say Kris Boyd scores 3 goals every game but through him not being able to control and hold up a ball we lose every game 4-3. At the end of the season he has scored 120 goals but that does not reflect the damage he has cost at the other end. Of course goals are important but it does not reflect the total importance to the team or results is the point i am trying to make. Very few teams play a 4-4-2 these days do we have to do that just to accommodate Kris Boyd? Yes we should keep him, but only as a super sub. No more no less.

Looks like we won't be paying 4 mill for Davis up front although we probably will go for that 3.5 mill and 500.000 after 50 games so we can drop him after 49.
-
I think i will take a run out on Saturday and maybe go to the game on Sunday. When do they fly out?
-
I don't know about this one. I am not sure i think Davis is the answer. i would think for 4 mill there are better players out there. Ismael Assiati of PSV would cost less and probably be on less wages. He wants away from PSV and is looking for a club.

Okay going on the assumption that it is goals that are so important. Wayne Rooney's stats are: Played 266 sub(47) goals 94. Kris Boyd has scored 71 at Rangers alone and 68 with Kilmarnock. That must make him far more valuable than Rooney. All those garbage managers(including AF) at all those big clubs are seeing this wrong. Boyd is worth 70mil not Ronaldo.

Yes that is why Manchester can't wait to pair him up with Rooney. Real want to pair him up with RvN. Chelsea with Drogba. etc, etc, etc. Every team in the world must want such a goal machine. i would think. Och well i suppose Cardiff are world top and would team him up with Thomson. Shit we would have just given away the best strikers in the world.

Waw Gribz that is a bigger turnaround than Spaghetti Juncton. I am totally not worried that there are far better players out there than Barry Ferguson. i am worried about David Murray's resolve to put the cash in and Walter Smiths Loyalty to Fergie or older players in general.

He was 19\20 at the time.

When you have been out for so long it is pretty normal you will get smaller niggling injuries as all your muscles and joints have been put on hold. Hopefully he will be back to full fitness soon.
-
Walter playing a 17 yr old? Nah i doubt that one.

Normal service resumed!!!!

Meanwhile, Rangers are still in talks with Watford over Danny Shittu. However, it's unlikely that a deal for the 27-year-old defender will be agreed before Smith's squad head out for their three-game tour of Germany on Saturday. Blackburn Rovers are believed to have upped their bid for Fulham midfielder Steven Davis to £3.5m. Smith wants the Northern Ireland internationalist back after he spent part of last season on loan, but will not pay the London club's £4m valuation. The Rangers boss has other midfield targets in mind and hopes to have that position, and a centre-half, secured before the July 24 signing deadline for the Champions League second qualifying round.

AAHHHHH:brick: :brick:

Gav there is life after Barry Ferguson, believe me.
-
Agree fully but i admit i am not a Fergie fan. I hoped he would be replaced anyway. I certainly didn't want him injured though,i wouldn't wish that on anybody. I would have preferred to have seen him sold.
-
Is it as slow for everyone as it is for me. Takes ages to load a page.
-
I believed he will be sold from the start and still believe that. I still think the," we want to keep him," is to bump up the price. I don't see Smith playing to a system that will suit him.

Sporting striker Milan Purovic has admitted he is keen to leave Lisbon amid reports that Rangers are one of the clubs keen on signing him. The target man has interested clubs in Belgium, Germany and Turkey but his agent Zoran Stojadinovic claimed recently that Walter Smith's Uefa Cup runners-up were keen to buy his client. Although he has returned to Portugal for pre-season training, the Montenegrin marksman remains determined to move on. "I would like to leave and find another club to play in and continue my career," Purovic insisted to Diario Digital. "But now I am here to train. "Let's see what happens." Smith has already strengthened in the attacking department and may not view Purovic as a priority, with Anderlecht believed to be joining the chase for his signature.

I feel sorry for the guy. He may not have had to stay on as manager but i think he deserved a little loyalty from Hearts in some kind of coaching function.

Yes i would give Whittaker a run there. FC Twente has an Aussie at right back Luke Wilkshire. The guy has an iron lung just like Hutton did and plays more like a winger than a defender at times. I would like to see him at Ibrox. Since we are on about Twente they also have a left winger Eljero Elia who is only 21. If we get rid of of McCulloch then i would bring this guy in. We would probably save money on fee and wages and get a better player. I also like Rat for left back, i hope the tims don't get him.
