Agree with that but to be honest i think if you look in the Dutch 1st division you will find a player better than Lovenkrands. Mark Overmars was playing there for years before he was spotted. There are some good players there who could do a good job for us and they cost next to nothing.

That was the problem with Lovenkrands though he didn't want to be a winger and went into hiding at times. He also needs about 5 yards to control a ball. I think Beasley is a better option if he could stay fit.

Not the type of player we need now. We need players that can control a ball and pass. If we are going to buy a left winger then Eljero Elia from FC Twente would be a better bet. He is only 20 and a far better player than Lovenkrands. While we are by Twente an offer for RB Luke Wilkshire would be great as well.

Nacho seems to forget that Fergie played last season and the creativity wasn't that great either. Smith saying we are in no rush for a midfielder. Help!

Seeing the Gers, seeing the Stadium, having a few beers and a roll with bradwurst, and only 14 euro's entry. And the best of all getting away from the wife for a few hours. Priceless.

The transfer market is still really slow. Everyone is waiting for the best price. Davis will come i think though it will be at the last moment.

We definitely need midfield purchases. Davis is not the answer imo.We need to pay good money for a good play-maker even if it means he is the only buy. We can get by in defence and in attack. I would rather we spent 8 mill for a play-maker than 3 players for 3 mill.

Just a wee point to open discussion. What about Broadfoot at CH. He had one great tackle and i thought he did quite well actually. Any thoughts?

It really wasn't steep at all Gribz. I have been to the FC Twente stadium and you need a mountaineers ice-pick(sp) to get up the stairs but this is really great. I will say because it is a closed hall it did feel like i was watching indoor football, but i suppose that would pass on cold winter nights.

It is what is in my heart that makes me a loyal Rangers supporter not what comes out my mouth, what i know, or how much money i give out to support them.To be honest what comes out of a lot of so called Rangers supporters mouth's makes me more embarrassed than envious. As i am the only one that feels that, i am the only one who can judge that. There will be better supporters out there than me of that i am sure. Why should i think i am the best? What is in my heart is important to me. What you think of me! Well don't give a fcuk really.

We played against my first choice today Fred Rutten but as i said in another post i would like to see us going Dutch again. Someone to get us going forward and moving off the ball again.

Personally i don't think Smith is the right man for the job. Changing a whole team in one would be too much but i do believe we need someone who can defend and build from the back and a play-maker in midfield. 2 players minimum in my eyes.

We played the same in the second half of last season Ian this is not only about friendlies but a lack of class. Our Euro run papered over the cracks last year.

I can agree with you about Smith but i really feel this side lack any real quality. Even if we have the ball we can't string 3 passes together. It is mostly because of movement off the ball and position play which is probably down to Smith. Time for a Dutch coach\manager again.

To be honest i hope that Weir does not play many games as his forward play is non-existent. God i hate being so negative.

You said everything i wanted to say in a nutshell. This is by far the worst Rangers team i can ever remember seeing. Schalke were poor in my opinion but we were atrocious. Apart from Miller getting a chance on the left after beating two defenders and the Velicka header we were not even hinting at danger. I agree about Velicka doing more in ten than Miller in eighty minutes. We just do not have a midfield. We pass the ball sideways and back until all options have been used and then it was a punt to Miller or JCD which resulted in ball loss. JCD really disappointed me, he looked like he was just stamping out the daisy's. Some of it will lie on the service he got, but even when he was on the ball he looked lost of idea's. Alexander looked like he couldn't catch a ball and with 4 CH's on the park losing a goal at a corner was criminal. Sorry but it looks like a long hard season unless we can get a play-maker in.

Great day. Fantastic stadium. Really friendly helpful people. To be honest the only thing that spoiled it were some drunken Rangers supporters who were almost fighting amongst themselves. And of course the Shalke supporters were ****** bar stewards. One wee drunken guy came up to me and asked me if i wanted a pint. As i still had 3\4 of a glass(plastic) and i didn't want to get involved i said no. Well can i borrow your pay card he said. unbelievable but true. I'll look to send you the photo's.
