I am possibly the only one on here that thinks this but i honestly believe PLG was on the right road to sorting things out. Unfortunately he attacked Barry,and that cost him his job,You cannot attack captain fanny-tastic. If PLG was given the money that Walter got we would be in a better position than we are now. In my opinion of course.

As i have been away on holiday for a few days i never seen the game and only knew the score by checking in on here for a few minutes on a borrowed laptop. I can give no opinion on the Kaunus game as i never saw or heard it. I never wanted Walter Smith back and wanted him sacked after he won 9 in a row, as it was obvious to everyone then that the team was running backwards quickly. Was his contribution in 9 in a row that great. He took over a winning team and played against a Celtic team that was almost bankrupt. He had an open chequebook and still fell at the first serious hurdle Celtic could throw up. I didn't want him as manager and nothing has happened to change my mind. He has and never will have an idea on how to manage a football team. He steadied the ship okay, he rested it on the sea-bed. Surprise i voted for him to go. If the whole world could see for years now we need a change in midfield then why the hell could Walter not see it. I see it as a year wasted if he is not sacked. Even with the material we now have a manager with a bit of idea about football will get us playing better than Walter has done.

Calscot if buying an attacking midfielder is going to be a panic buy then Smith and our scouting Staff should walk away now as it has been a problem position for years. If our technical staff don't know what is going on and who or what they need then it is a sad state of affairs. Smith seems to think attacking football is having 4 strikers on the bench.

How poor is the Feynoord defence. Celtic can score almost at will. They are missing 8 normal first team players but even then they are crap. HT- 0-3

Does Arthur Numan not live in Scotland still? De Boer is more Ajax minded than Rangers so he would give Ajax first shout. Huistra and Snelders work with Twente. I think that would leave big Bert Konterman as he does TV work. Let's not bother about Holland.

I just read on a Dutch site that Feynoord and Groningen were talent spotting at Molde FK for Mame Biram Diouf. What interested me in the article was that West Brom also were watching the guy. Tony Mowbray seems to be continuing what he did at Hibs. A candidate for the next Rangers manager when Wattie leaves in a few years? Or will his Celtic ties be to much of a Hurdle. He seems to be a good tactician and his youth policies speak for themselves.

That's a key point. I look at the likes of Arsenal with their buying up of young players. Few if any of them will get a start in the first team for some years. That's where we could step in. We could offer earlier first team football - and in Europe too- and then sell on for good fees. We could also take some of say Liverpool's youngsters on loan and give them experience; their squad is so huge they just won't be able to play them in the first team. BTW on a different tack, interesting to hea S Fergie saying they had only TWO strikers - Rooney and Tevez! We could sell him a few! Let's do a swap deal two for six. Our scouting system seems to be a joke. Every player we have brought in over the last few seasons have either worked with Watty,played against us or worked with another member of the team. As far as i have understood from Dutch managers it is not difficult to know about players on offer as all agents put them on a website or computer programme stating their contract specs and availability. it is just a matter of someone bothering their ass to pick out possible targets and go and watch. As for the ticket office! That is a bloody shambles for a club of our stature.

SPL winners will do me this year. Ckuf the poodle prizes. Getting into the CL pool stages is a must for the money but this year we should give up later stages in Europe to win the SPL.

We are setting ourselves up for another Brown drama. We think we have the guy on a pre contract and then another team who pay better wages step in and he goes there. Until he walks out on to the Ibrox turf i won't be expecting too much.

Lets hope he is better than Boomsong. Personally i don't think signing this guy means the end of Cuellar. I think he has been brought in to play beside him and maybe fill in, in a midfield roll until Fergie gets back. It will be great having someone who can pass a ball at the back again but we will have to have more movement in midfield for it to have any effect.

A bit unfair cal. that is why this is a Forum so that we can discuss possibilities, probabilities and what we think or don't think. surely opening up Threads about the possibility of Boyd, Cuellar or anyone else being sold is not a lie but a possibility to be discussed. If i say Cuellar has left the club then that is a lie. If i say i believe he will be sold is throwing my opinion open to discussion. If you want you can write a thread every so often and the rest can just give you the thumb's-up smiley, i think the membership will die quite quick. A lot of the discussions were started by things Walter has said himself about not being able to afford players these days.

I will totally agree with you Jon, that Boyd should play before JCD. Either the football we are playing now doesn't suit him or he is just crap. Punting Davie Weirs up to JCD and Miller is a total waste of time and effort. Ach we don't really need midfielders.
