Gav this was a real joke. Even worse than Rivaldo's WC antics. The supporter caressed him on the chest and he left on the stretcher with an ice-pack on his head. Celtic should be punished for the supporter being on the field but the keeper should also get done for bringing the game into disrepute. I wonder if the supporter was arrested? I guess not it was not at Ibrox.

Firstly i dislike Italians, probably more than Celtic. Secondly i hate cheats. Italian cheats are really the pits.

According to Dutch television the Italians are going to try and get Celtic thrown out for an assault on their keeper. Hopefully the UEFA beaks will look at the tape and view it honestly but they have thrown other teams out recently for crowd trouble so it could go both ways. I agree it is a good few weeks for Scottish football but if we don't qualify for the EK and Rangers and Celtic fail to reach the next round it will be forgotten by xmas. Beating teams in the first round is not in the same class as winning the trophy in my eyes. Yes we should be happy at the recent results but we ain't done nothing yet. In 1967 jim clark was 3rd in the formula 1 championship.

Celtic deserved their win. Milan done absolutely nothing. Got a gift of a penalty in my eyes. And the keeper is a joke. I started supporting Milan but i am glad the tims beat them now. Well done!
-
Supporter ran up and touched the keeper and he went down like a ton of bricks. What an idiot supporter but the keeper is a joke. Large fine for the tims i guess.

McDonald 2-1 last minute.
-
Penalty Milan 1-1 A weak penalty to be honest, i would be guttered if it was against Rangers.
-
Oh Boruc another blunder just lucky it bounced over the bar.
-
First half was pish. Not one goalmouth incident. God is certainly pissing down on the tims.

That would only Guarantee us a Uefa place as Lyon or Stuttgart can still get 12 points.

Broadfoot got a few goals if i remember right. That is what makes Hutton such a great prospect, i love seeing an attacking fullback as it is hard to defend against. Grosso went over the top yesterday though and forgot to defend.

I am lucky i have a German channel that just play all the CL games over and over.(when they are not live) I can also watch any CL game i want. I saw the game available on a torrent site to download.

I think he has done great but for the attacking part of the game i would love to see smith surging down the wing again.

Agree on that i believe in getting your body behind the ball and i always tried to catch the ball. BUT!! As you say used to. With modern football boots being able to put much more effect on the ball as in my\our day and the far lighter balls which dip and move in the air far more there is a case for punching. You still do see many balls the keeper should catch though if they let it come on to their chest.

Agree totally Craig if he let's McGeady do that to him with McDonald and Vinegar in the middle it will be toilet paper at the ready. he has to know of these mistakes so as he can improve to be the player we think he is. He is the best back in Scotland but he could become world class with the proper coaching.

To be honest Johnny i don't criticise Fergie anymore because it starts an outcry and a lot of ill feeling from the pro-Fergie supporters. Any criticism of him seems to be blasphemy against god. He can play better.

The French manager said his team hit the woodwork 3 times they were unlucky. No they were not unlucky their shots were in fact off target. Over the last few weeks i have heard"the bar or post saved them" No wrong! Bars and posts don't save teams they in fact get struck when a shot is off target. Yes it looks and sounds impressive crashing against the bar but unless it enters the goal the ball is off target and does not count. Rant over

Rangers rampant in Lyon's lair Tuesday 2 October 2007 Daniel Cousin is mobbed after scoring Rangers' second goalDaniel Cousin is mobbed after scoring Rangers' second goal (Ã?©Getty Images)Photos/WallpapersPhotos/Wallpapers Ã?» Rangers FC sprang a major surprise with a stunning success at Olympique Lyonnais which ended a run of nine UEFA Champions League away games without a victory and ensured they kept pace with FC Barcelona at the top of Group E. Stunning success The Glasgow club showed skill and endeavour to overcome Lyon, who have now failed to win in six European matches. Alain Perrin's men had slumped to their heaviest UEFA Champions League defeat in Barcelona two weeks before but few imagined a repeat of that 3-0 scoreline, even when Lee McCulloch opened the scoring midway through the first period. However, two goals in the space of five second-half minutes from DaMarcus Beasley and Daniel Cousin secured a memorable result for Rangers, whose last away triumph in the competition had come in 2000. Attacking intent With Lyon unable to score in their last three UEFA Champions League outings, coach Perrin made his intentions clear by packing the side with attacking talent ââ?¬â?? Juninho Pernambucano and Mathieu Bodmer playing advanced roles behind a trident of Sidney Govou, Karim Benzema and Milan BaroÃ?¡. The hosts pressed forward with urgency from the start but Rangers, defending with fierce determination, snuffed out the danger. Juninho and BaroÃ?¡ both had efforts blocked and when Carlos CuÃ?©llar deflected Benzema's shot goalwards, Allan McGregor made a comfortable save. McCulloch breakthrough Having calmed the early storm, Walter Smith's team began to show more ambition, lone striker Cousin turning SÃ?©bastien Squillaci only to be denied by Anderson's lunging challenge. That hint of an opening prompted a volley of noise from the away fans and moments later they were celebrating the tie's first goal. Nobody picked up McCulloch's run to the near post and the midfielder, making his competition debut, rose to head in Beasley's right-wing corner on 23 minutes. Juninho danger The French champions sought an instant response but their approach play was often hurried and their finishing wayward. BaroÃ?¡, Bodmer and Kim KÃ?¤llstrÃ?¶m all fired over before Juninho tested McGregor with a swerving free-kick. The captain's set-piece skills were proving Lyon's most dangerous weapon and Rangers had another escape on the stroke of half-time when the Brazilian's dipping attempt from 20 metres crashed back off the crossbar. Decisive spell Juninho tried hard to rally his off-colour side, shooting narrowly wide two minutes into the second period, yet Rangers looked sharper and took the match away from Lyon with two quick goals. Cousin struck first on 48 minutes, controlling Alan Hutton's right-wing cross and turning sharply to rifle an unstoppable shot past RÃ?©my Vercoutre from close range. The tall Gabon forward then turned provider, sweeping a precise crossfield pass over Squillaci's head for Beasley to bring the ball down and slot past an exposed Vercoutre. Luckless Lyon Drained of confidence, Lyon never looked likely to mount a comeback and when Juninho rattled the woodwork for a second time, the game seemed to be up. There was still time for McGregor to deny Hatem Ben Arfa, before Anderson nodded the resulting corner against the crossbar as luck deserted Lyon. Ã?©uefa.com 1998-2007. All rights reserved.

Time for Some Mild Criticism ââ?¬â?? to Rotate or Not to Rotate?
pete replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
We certainly can't slate Walter for his Euro decisions i just hope Hemdani becomes a part of the SPL equation. -
Ian i am not criticising Hutton in general as i think he is a tremendous talent and hopefully he develops into the best RB since sandy Jardine. I just really don't think he was that great tonight. Lyon players got behind him in at least 3 occasions which could have cost us dearly on another day. Surely helpful criticism is a must or should we tell him he was great when he was not tonight.
-
Agree with Stuart Cuellar a 9. I still don't see a 9 for Hutton i thought he was dodgy at times.
-
I still think the way to go is 4-5-1\4-3-3 even in league games that would mean Beasley,McCulloch Darcheville Naismith or Novo playing instead of Whittaker as wide men.

A must for the Hibs game in my eyes. He makes Fergie and Thomson play better as well as breaking attacks up.
