On reflection, if the league is suspended, I would accept Lennon being suspended, suspended by his knackers from the Suspension Bridge.

No matter. Not one of the current mob will adjudicate fairly.

Chelsea v The Irons on SKY. The best thing about this has been Gary Neville's suit.

But they had practiced all week on 5 - 5 - 0, and on the tactical fluidity which allowed them to change effortlessly from that to 6 - 4 - 0, or 10 -0. -

Add 5 - 5 - 0 to the tactical lexicon, Marcelo. It's over there in the corner marked "Bin". Motherwell's formation yesterday (which to be brutally frank, was often 10 - 0) made Craig Levein's 4 - 6- 0, versus the Czechs in Prague, look like a positive, aggressively attacking, line -up. With 5 substitutes, modern fitness training, etc. and a decent amount of practice, it would be possible, using such set-ups, to destroy football completely. -

Another stocking filler from the public purse. Following their settlement with Poileas Alba, Messrs Clarke and Whitehouse won a substantial wedge, tax free, I believe, from the Lord Advocate, because "Lawyers acting for the crown......admitted much of the prosecution against Mr Clark and Mr Whitehouse had been “malicious” and conducted without “probable cause”. " Happy Christmas, chaps. The man in the Cessnock Subway might think that this was beyond incompetent, was criminal, and that prosecution ought to follow; at very least he might expect dismissals. He might consider that maintaining his confidence in the CO &PFS, would be viewed as important. The cynical among us may think that he would be wrong. David Whitehouse and Paul Clark: pair arrested in Rangers case settle claim David McCann Friday December 18 2020, 12.01am, The Times https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/scotland/david-whitehouse-and-paul-clark-pair-arrested-in-rangers-case-settle-claim-325wqhrt8 Two business experts who were wrongfully arrested during a doomed Rangers FC fraud investigation have settled a multimillion-pound claim against Scotland’s leading law officer. David Whitehouse and Paul Clark, of Duff & Phelps, were administrators when the company that ran Rangers went into administration in 2012. Both men will receive a public apology from the lord advocate, James Wolffe, QC, in the coming weeks. The club was liquidated in October 2012 and Mr Whitehouse and Mr Clark resigned. Police arrested Mr Whitehouse and charged him with offences related to the takeover of Rangers in 2011 by Craig Whyte. Mr Clark was accused of “conspiracy and serious organised crime”. The charges against Mr Whitehouse and Mr Clark were dropped. Mr Whyte was acquitted of two charges, including taking over Rangers by fraud, in 2017. Mr Whitehouse and Mr Clark’s action claimed that there was no justification for their detention, committal or prosecution and that the crown never had sufficient evidence for any of the charges. The two won a ruling — from a specially convened bench of five judges at the Court of Session in Edinburgh last year — that the lord advocate did not have absolute immunity from a civil damages claim in such circumstances. Lawyers acting for the crown later admitted much of the prosecution against Mr Clark and Mr Whitehouse had been “malicious” and conducted without “probable cause”. The men launched a £20.8 million claim for compensation over their arrests. A case against Police Scotland was settled last month and now the pair have come to an agreement with the Crown Office. It is understood that the latest settlement is worth several million pounds each. In the previous action against Police Scotland the judge overseeing proceedings criticised the “lack of co-operation” by officers in the court case.

Now if you were ever in any doubt that marijuana fucks with your mind, and that this damage increases exponentially with the amount you consume, I give you the following.... Celtic superfan Bob Marley recorded Old Firm matches Stuart MacDonald Thursday December 17 2020, 12.01am, The Times Football Bob Marley taped Old Firm matches when he was touring in Europe and took them home for his son Rohan to watch https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/scotland/celtic-superfan-bob-marley-recorded-old-firm-matches-5d2kpw6jz Bob Marley was a fan of Celtic FC who kept videos of their Old Firm matches and would regale his children with stories about the club, his son has revealed. Rohan Marley told how his father would tell them stories about the famous Lisbon Lions team who won the European Cup in 1967. The musician taped Old Firm games while touring in Europe and took them home for Rohan to watch. Rohan, 48, said his father’s love of Celtic inspired him to attempt to become a footballer and he once tried to get a trial with the club. In an interview with the Celtic View, he said: “I always loved Celtic, they were one of my father’s favourite teams. He would talk about Celtic and that’s how I came to know them. I was young but I just remember him loving Celtic and telling me about them winning the European Cup. When he was in Europe, he was able to see a lot of the big football games on TV. “He watched a lot of English football and Scottish football. He would record all the games and I watched them years later at my grandmother’s house. That’s how I came across all these Celtic players from the late 1970s and early Eighties because I’d watch these tapes of Celtic versus Rangers games over and over again.” The Jamaican businessman, a former American football player, added: “He played all the time as well. I can remember playing with him when we were young. My granny actually had a tape of me and two of my brothers, Ziggy and Steve, playing keepy-up with him. We used to stand in a circle and try to juggle the ball with him.” In his autobiography, the Celtic legend Dixie Deans said Marley once told him his ambition was to visit Celtic Park. The singer, who died aged 36 in 1981, stunned Deans when the pair met in Australia. Deans said Marley told him: “I’m a big Celtic fan. I would love to go to Scotland to see Celtic Park and kick a few balls there. I know all about Jock Stein. Celtic has always been my team.” Actually, Marley died in May 1981, so one wonders what equipment he used to record and transport all those matches in the 1970s...

Well you, if not in those particular words. May I remind you that the fhilth play for a trophy at the weekend, and that tonight's result will be a major fillip. I fear that they will win, and build on that with confidence. I fear that they will gain momentum. I fear that we will look on wondering, again, where it all went wrong. -

It's St Mirren, ffs. And it's a cup. If we play poorly and win, I am told that it is the result that matters. If we play poorly and lose, I am told to shut up. -
