  1. Some cunt told Bazza he'd be in the final against Dick a few months ago - he quoted this in a paper. Fucking annoying the cunt didn't give the lottery numbers too...

PS Pink bread tastes like shit... where the hell has it been anyway?

But the SPL is a molehill compared to the mountain of UEFA. If we win, anyone who bets on us will be rich after the performances in the semis... That makes it a much better achievement - but how much do you regret not taking what you have already earned, compared to what you don't expect to achieve? The fact is we could easily lose both, and I know which one I'd regret the most...
  4. My sides are aching... really
  5. No chance, she was pished too, and now out for the count... I'll cash in the chit tomorrow...
  6. PS Fucking great birthday present!!
  7. I can't go to bed yet. I snafued and let my girlfriend book me a meal tonight because it's my birthday. I'm sure I told her about the game and I thought the meal was tomorrow, but communication error - 404... Now how can you say no? Then how can you complain when you have a fantastic chateaux briand for two with a couple of great bottles of wine? I recorded the game and watched it at about 10:30 and it's one of the most frustrating experiences of my life.... We were fantastic in defence bit showed nothing up front, and when Cousin was sent off I was so fucked off. The penalties were so, so hard to watch, but I shouldn't have worried - and if it wasn't for Bazza's miss, I probably wouldn't have. So I'm on a high now and will be saturating the site with posts as I'm drunk - I had another bottle of wine through the game, and I'm hyper.

ps I'll be disappointed if we don't win the UEFA; however, I'll be gutted if we don't win the SPL...

    SPL or Uefa

We're virtually 4pts ahead in the SPL so I can't believe anyone will be happy if we throw it away. The UEFA cup is a massive, massive bonus and we all want it now. But it's hard to divorce people from the fact, we should really have the SPL in the bag. If we lose it, I can't imagine one Rangers fan who won't be gutted. With UEFA now we'd swap a lot for it, we desperately want it, but we're all realists at heart. We didn't expect it and we can't be realistically pissed off if we don't win it. We can be if we don't get the treble. Being in the final is fantastic but the way we've played to get there, means that we can't expect to win it whatsoever. We've at least equalled Celtic's acheivement and we have to just watch and see. We all want to win it, but there is a team in the way that have shown a far better pedigree than we have, so we can't expect it. I'mdrunk and rambling but the point is we have the other two trophies in the bag if we really want it, beating Zenit is another kettle of fish and we need another fantastic performance to do it. One thing though, is that if it goes to penalties, we're the master and we've got so much experience I can't see us bottling it as we did with a load of Dutch stars under Advocaat. We are the penalty kings and if that's the decider, then I'm confident.
  10. Where is the proper sale though, surely you should be able to buy a ticket AFTER your team has got to the final? The present system seems to be manna from heaven for ebay. Surely UEFA can't be that naive?

Hey they beat Celtic with Capucho in the team... The thing is, it's only the UEFA cup, but for any Scottish team to get to the final is fantastic. I wasn't dissing Celtic when they got there, and they have no reason to diss us. There are no easy teams in the last 16 of a Euro tournament and we know that in spades. We had a great squad under Advocaat but we couldn't get past the last 16 every year. Celtic did a fantastic job to get to the final and we recognise it, if they don't recognise us then they are showing themselves up for what they are and I think that will be the case.
  12. I think most fans have a soft spot for wee Nacho... before tonight too.
  13. I knew, i knew, I really knew I should have applied for a ticket. Stupid, stupid, bloody stupid, I know. But I want one, really do. I've been on the sites and it seems you had to have bought one before yesterday - what's that all about? Now please tell me how to at least apply for a ticket?????
  14. From Saltcoats, you?
  15. Anyone notice that Rikaard has slagged off Man U for defensive play? He's right of course but all this bleating when you don't get the result you want should be in the dictionary for the definition of sour grapes. Seems to me that this style of play is the most effective and therefore who can blame anyone for using it? Being a great tactician is knowing the best tactics to use for the situation and then using them well to get a result. What do teams like Barcelona want the opposition to do? The fact is that when you play skillful, fast passing football, you are actually forcing the the other team to defend in numbers. There is cause and effect here, yin and yang - Barcelona are creating the yin and so the opposition have to provide the yang. Then you have to admit that teams like Barca also play their own negative brand of football in defence. When was the last time you saw Barcelona give a team space to play "beautiful football"? This is what got me when they complained about Rangers. How can our players hope to try and play fantastic football when they are closed down immediately and given no room at all? Again it's the likes of Barcelona who are the architects of less than aesthetic football. I proposed before that they are the anti-football team and I stick by it due to the above reasons. The team who plays anti-football is the team that doesn't allow the other team time to play good football. It's self explanatory - and Barcelona fit the bill. Fiorentina, also follow this model, how can they complain that we didn't create chances when they harried our players so much we often went all the way back into their own half before passing to the keeper? How is that our fault? They gave us no room to play - anti-football again. Then they passed the ball around well keep possession - so what do they expect our players to do? Perhaps these two clubs should get together and form a football Harlem Globe Trotters where the defence says, "after you" and everyone plays tricks etc instead of actually trying to win a game. I think the criticism of Man U just shows how unjustified all the criticism of Rangers has been - we may not entertain, but were intelligent enough to know how to play football to win, and we also have dignity in defeat.
  16. PS I think you agree with me more than you admit but like a good argument!!!
  17. Re: Smith, we need to look for promising up and coming players rather than ones in the Premiership already on 60 grand a week. Players in the mold of Cuellar but in different positions. The likes of Boyd, Naismith, Thomson and Whittaker are also obvious types of buy that we should go for. Other older examples are Gattuso and Arteta - although we sold them too early and the latter for a stupid loss. He's worth about 10M now. If we're going to spend, we want players who are not going to be worth a lot less in a few years, quite the opposite.
  18. I'm sure he's a striker and he scores a hell of a lot...
  19. PS He only supported Rangers pre-7 and that was probably because both my older brother and I supported them - although we both chose independently and in fact he wanted me to support another team so we weren't fighting over football cards. He chose Celtic when post 9IAR when he had a girlfriend and quite a few mates that supported them. As you can tell, he fits the fickle label quite well.
  20. He supported the Aberdeen under Alec (as he was known then) Ferguson when they were winning leagues and the cup winner's cup. Killie was pretty much our nearest club and so a few of his mates at school supported them and he's always been easily swayed. I think the Motherwell one was pretty random when he was about 7 years of age.
  21. Shades of "he would say that". No evidence one way or the other. I would doubt he would come to Rangers as there is no way he could fit into the wage structure. I'm not sure if we even need him and you just have to look how badly Newcastle are doing and he still can't get in the team. If Cousin stays we'll have plenty of amo up front especially as I can see Walter start to blood Fleck into the side. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Fleck becomes one of our main players by the end of next season. He looks amazing at U19 level and bigger clubs than us play talented youngsters. You just have to look at the likes of Messi, Ronaldo and Rooney as well as Walcott. Barcelona even played a 17 year old last night - in the CL semi. I think Fleck is ready and I hope Walter does too.
  22. My younger brother has supported in chronological order: Rangers, Motherwell, Kilmarnock, Aberdeen and Celtic. He's now changed again and settled on Man U for the most obvious and shallowest of reasons. He, my older brother and I, all started off supporting Rangers. My older brother and I still support Rangers; however, he's now only a fan in passing as he's losing passion for many things as he gets older.
  23. Celtic have been very luck of late, whithout the benefit yet another fortuitous refereeing error or late, late goal, then they could easily drop points. Unfortunately, I can see us dropping a few as well. Let's hope they blunder this weekend and take some pressure off.
  24. Porkie pies. Yours would be: ______________Smith___________ Lowing Webster Cuellar Papac Boyd _______Davis Hemdani Faye_______ __________Buffel Gow_________ Sorry - mistake there: of course Boyd would be "left back" in Glasgow. Put Smith in there instead.
  25. Getting to the finals seems like an achievement now but anyone's Granny could have got the team we had in '78 to the finals. We were very highly rated at the time and it was only four years after a great team were so unlucky in Germany, going out undefeated. We had a top class team in '78 and that's why we thought we had a chance of winning it. Remember we had a good 20 years where we qualified 5 times in a row. Qualifying didn't seem so difficult then.
