PS The ironic thing is that both Hun and Fen_ian are political rather than religious. Hun is Loyalist/Royalist, Fen_ian is Republican/pro Ira.
-
I think the difference between Tim and Hun is that the former is in no way derogatory. In fact the protestant equivalent to Tim is actually "Billy". The catholic equivalent to Hun is probably "Fen ian".
-
As far as I know, Rangers fans called Celtic fans Huns after the war due Ireland's sympathy towards the Nazis - and of course the Tims had to follow suit. Then Celtic fans turned it around and called us Huns due to the Royal Family having German ancestry. It's pretty much now used as a derogatory word for supporters of football teams who are considered protestants and used by supporters who are considered catholics. IE It is mostly used by Celtic and Hibs fans against Rangers and Hearts fans.

I wouldn't and don't - I work in academia. If I was getting paid close to 1M a year, the money would be even less important...

Rangers 3 : 1 Dundee Utd - Player Ratings and MoM Poll

PS I think Cousin's attitude has been stinking lately and I would be happy to take 2 or 3M for him in the summer and replace him with someone a bit more professional -we need a striker of a higher level of ability in any case. -
Rangers 3 : 1 Dundee Utd - Player Ratings and MoM Poll

I would give Cousin much less than six and maximum of four. That would probably be reduced to three for the pathetic head butt. I thought he was very poor and there were many times in the game when Novo was trying to find him with a killer pass around the box but Cousin always seemed to make it impossible with some strange runs. If that's the best he can do right now, I'd bring back Boyd instead. He at least knows how to make himself available round the box. Didn't see Cousin do much more than Boyd away from the box. If either Boyd or Cousin want to know how to give commitment, passion and many aspects of play to the team, they should look at the tireless Novo, who epitomised what we look for in a Rangers player. The guy may not be the most skillful we've ever had but he deserves a fantastic amount of credit for the effort he puts into a game. Easily man of the match by a country mile and I think after that, he deserves a start on Wednesday. -
Exactly what I thought. Their website is far too confusing.

We need more songs like this. Proper RANGERS songs.

Rangers v Motherwell - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
calscot replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Cuellar strolled though the game and made it look oh so easy. He just says, "Thankyou very much, I'll have that." and then takes the ball off the opposition player. I was deeply disappointed with Boyd yet again. I'm not really one of his detractors, but he hardly did anything in the whole game. You'd think he'd have something to prove but all he's showing that his bad press is true - that all he can do is score, so when he doesn't, it means he does nothing at all. He did get in a few good positions with about four chances and had he put one away then he'd have been forgiven. He did hit the bar but it was never going in. His fresh air shot was straight out of Nacho's text book... However, both Darcheville and Cousin didn't do any better. It's frustrating that we can have three strikers all off form at the same time. Four if you include Novo. Or am I just missing that Motherwell defended really well or our strikers didn't get proper service? Luckily Barry left a woeful first half performance behind to step up his game in the second half and cap it with a very well taken strike. Pity he couldn't hit the target with another great chance just on the edge of the box. One thing I noticed is that our players seem to be reluctant to shoot from out side the box even when in space. Considering the amount of goals we've scored doing this and the amount goals we've conceded or big scares we've had when the opposition do it, you'd think we'd be peppering the goal from this distance. It's not as if we're doing much else with the ball. Cousin's strike against Bremen is a great example and I remember when McCulloch was on form and shooting on sight. He only scored a couple but he caused the opposition defence all sorts of problems which led to quite a few goals. We're also showing a lack of creativity but all I think Walter needs to do is edit together some of our best moves and goals of the season and show the players what they did right. Add that to the best goals and moves from the opposition and surely that will reseed their left hand brains with plenty of options. They even just need to remember the torrid time Aberdeen gave us with some excellent crossing and try to play the same kind of balls. You don't want to over train their bodies but surely some time can be spent with their minds? The best way to stimulate this kind of creativity is to remind yourself of what has worked before. -
Now I'm not into conspiracy theories but does in not seem strange that Motherwell "rested" three first choice players against Celtic, with the kicker being, that all three were former Rangers youth players: Ross McCormack, Stephen Hughs and Graeme Smith. Do you not think that these three would be far more motivated to give Celtic a bloody nose than most players and therefore if he was going to "rest" anyone should he not have chosen three others and given the three former gers, tonight off instead? It all seems a bit too coincidental to me from a man who supports Celtic and has a future eye on the manager's job at CP... The fact that the Celtic minded are into conspiracies only adds to the likelihood that they actually participate in them...

I'd rather have Cousin than Miller...

The stories are ALWAYS in low quality rumour sites or low quality papers of the likes of the Mirror. So pinch of salt.

I think the biggest culprit is Celtic who have heaped massive pressure on the SPL. However, they seem to be so short sighted that they don't seem to realise that they are setting a precedent that could come back and bite them big time. Are they so small time now, that they don't realise that if they have a successful season like Rangers, they will be affected in the same way - and they will have no right to complain? They must think that they will never be that successful again... Rangers will also now have to seriously rethink about the morality of agreeing to postpone games due to bereavements - especially those of former players from a team. Despite the maudlin pseudo sentimental hysteria over the death of Phil O'Donnell from many quarters, a minutes silence and black armbands has been enough before, so it should have been fine now. The very clubs that requested the postponements are now putting the man's memory to shame with their refusal to extend the season. Surely if his memory is important enough to postpone games, then it is important enough to extend the season to allow room for the postponements. Celtic have shown that their sentiment for an unpopular player who left 12 years before was false and merely a ploy to help their cause in the league. You cannot postpone games when it suits you and then claim the fixture schedule is sacrosanct when it then heaps pressure on your rivals... Celtic have really gone lower than any club in history - to use the death of a player to their advantage. It doesn't sound like Motherwell were happy about the league extension either - and they didn't seem to pipe up in it's favour anyway. You'd think that they'd be evangelical to extend it in honour of the player who died playing for them. It seems the whole of the SPL, bar Rangers, only care to honour these kind of things when it suits them.

You could always change your name by deed poll before the match...

Checked ebay and definitely can't afford it. Can anyone explain why CL final tickets are much cheaper than UEFA final?

PS I didn't recognise my post but thought the author was pretty funny - narcissism eh?

I don't sound like gribz do I?

He probably watched it same time as me...

What the f*** did Fiorentina do? They had all the ball but I counted about 3 good chances each - each! They created nothing and hardly troubled our goalie. We actually had the better of the chances...
-
4-0 though, against Bayern - you have to respect that...
-
I was careless enough to think, "that'll do us" earlier...

I agrere with Craig but I'm ready to argue anyway...
