Welcome to the world of the football fan. We all have our favourites, the players who we speak no ill of, and the players we don't rate, who can't do anything right in our eyes. It's not really fair or unfair, it's just the emotion that goes with football. Because being a fan of this sport involves anything but rational judgement.

If I had only highlighted the positive, you wouldn't have an axe to grind with me. We would not be having this debate. You mean the small conversation that you personally take umbrage with? Wouldn't snap judgements be what you claim I'm doing with Ally, not what you claim I did with Lafferty. That would be fickle. Which I disagree with, I made one small comment when he was in terrible form suspecting he might not be able to regain his form. Otherwise I'm one of the few to consistently support him. But I won't hold your dislike for Lafferty against you in this debate. Yeah, it really is mainly you. A large problem you have with my opinion of summarising the last month with Ally in charge. I don't know why this is such a gripe with you. Ah, yes I do, like I say; had it all been positive, you wouldn't have started a campaign of criticism of my view.

To be a pedantic goit, I nor anyone else will ever be able to judge objectively. It's an oxymoron. As for the rest, I only ever gave opinion on a small selection of aspects. Some I was very positive about, such as how active in the transfer market he is, and today, signing up Healy for another year. But others deserved criticism, which I gave, and got my head blown off from some quarters. Your posts towards me on this subject have been constructive, fair and level headed. Not all have.

Actually the only 2 criticisms I ever had of him were saying we won't go to 3M for Cuellar (something most agreed on) and that he had a strange fixation of Whittaker (which most agree on). I appraised him overall which I am surely allowed to do. I hope the minority attitude of his immunity from criticism will not continue regardless of what he does. But I know it will from some quarters.

The problem with Thomson is that his crime has been committed in a position of the public spotlight. It's not like some Joe Bloggs who is done for something like this, which might get on the news, and is then forgotten. Thomson is a footballer, and as such the limelight is on him much more than in a job which isn't so exposed. I do find it ridiculous though that Mad Vlad has literally put the blame on the Mafia. -

People have the right to question what they want Ally. I've clarified my opinion on it all, and as often happens on forums, people, such as yourself, take the wee bits they really don't like, blow them up and focus on them alone, completely ignoring the rest, just so they can have a wee argument. I have some criticisms of Ally, I also have some praise for some of the ways he's gone about things, as I posted in that thread. Funnily enough, you have not praised him at all...

Curiously enough your ire is aimed at me, rather than others in that thread who agreed with me and...dare I say the dreaded words...'started to judge' the manager's performance so far. Oh, and you moved the goalposts so far they ended up in another stadium.

I think the problem lies in just how thin our squad is. Celtic have a massive squad and could afford to make no signings. Their fans would be disgruntled but they know they have the depth to cope with a full season. We arguably do not, albeit in saying that we've managed 3 in a row on what we basically have. I just think there's only so much you can ask from the same small group of players before you critically need new players - and with this new regime we really should have had a headstart in bringing guys in. That no one has come in is extremely disappointing. But I won't panic until 00:00:01 on September 1st.

I think a lot of the doubt I have and am seeing from others will disappear when we finally make a decent signing. That's what all this boils down to - all the promise of a new owner, director, and manager and the expectation of an overhaul of a paper thin squad, and we just haven't seen anything really happen yet. For weeks I was loving all the players we were being linked to, but that eventually gets a little tiresome if you don't see a signature now and again.

So actually I think you're shifting the goalposts somewhat. So, I don't agree with you, and you don't agree with me. I also think it's a laughable comment from you to describe my reservations over the past month, which btw, many agreed with, excluding you, in that thread I started, as 'lambasting'. You almost sound tabloid. Twisting and changing someone's argument to sell a paper (post).
