  1. I imagine it will be on SSN too.
  2. You look at that list of sides and they read like the obscure bowels of European football that even our reserves should be able to handle. But going by our pre-season displays, you can't really take much for granted.
  3. I would rather have players who have the dedication to their job that he does not. If you want a team of mercenaries, knock yourself out. You seem to have a very strange hard on for this guy. His performances last season were decent at best and downright poor at worst, yet you defend his honour going to far as to defend his right to dislike playing for Rangers.
  4. It's 'great' that everyone at the club thinks we need to strengthen. How reassuring to know that if we fail to bring in anyone else, our manager and goalkeeper don't think we're good enough. Admittedly we're not, but to hear these desperate words time and time again is starting to grate.
  5. Where did you hear that? Also, Gordon Smith has supposedly said on Radio Scotland that Madjid Bougherra wants to sign a new deal. If that is true, it's because no one else wanted him. He's not a player I want to keep such is his blatant desire to leave. I don't want a player who has to 'make do' with being at Ibrox.
  6. Quite honestly the Goodwillie saga has totally died down over the past few weeks. I doubt we're even trying to sign him any more.
  7. A nice messy affair this one. Modric is better than Spurs quite honestly, and knows he will never win anything there. He's a world class player. Interesting also to see the change in 'Arry. The other night I saw him on SSN praising Modric and saying how great he was and that there's no problem with him anywhere. Now things seem quite different.
  8. I don't know much about this chap, but 22 caps or so for your country and world cup experience can't be bad. And we know how badly we need defenders.
  9. My mind has either done a blank or I've never heard of the fourth round before. I always thought the 3rd round was the final one. That all said, I share the sentiments elsewhere in this thread. Even against the lesser sides of Europe, we are going to struggle. I mean quite honestly I have confidence in our midfield and attack - it's looking rusty in pre-season but these are players I rate highly and have confidence in when it counts. It's the defence which we all know is an absolute shambles, and unless we get in 2 good CL quality CB's before the 3rd round, we simply aren't going to progress. I know not of this Rodriguez guy, but it is a bit strange that a decent La Liga outfit would let go a 23 year old for only half a million.
  10. There's been a lot of lively debate about pre-season thus far, with some fans appalled at the results and performances, and others preaching that we have nothing to worry about yet, and that pre-season is all about fitness. So keep it short and sweet here - do our results ultimately concern you or do they not really bother you?
  11. wtf - a play off round? I thought it was a straight route to the group stage from the 3rd round? What the hell is the play off round?
  12. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/showbiz/celebrity-news/2011/07/08/which-rangers-star-has-struck-up-a-romance-with-playboy-bunny-kayla-collins-86908-23256080/ Seems our Mo has been cavorting around with Playboy bunnies if this story is to be believed. His eye may not be on the right ball these days...
  13. Am I the only one not overly blown away by Wylde? Don't get me wrong, he was great against PSV on his first full debut, but I felt he was a bit anonymous after that and struggled to have the same impact on the SPL that he had against the Dutch.
  14. Emotional? My arse, I'm not emotional - I'm flabbergasted at your brazen headedness. But one little point - if the results of pre-season matches are so unimportant to you and others (aye right), why have you called this thread 'our pre-season results a refllection'? Methinks you're a little inconsistent...
  15. Haha, so any fan who was concerned about either result isn't sensible? What a very self righteous comment to come out with. I suspected no matter what you saw in that thread, you'd ignore or counter my point. So I'm done with this because it's really starting to waste my time.
  16. It's called perception. There is no truth. Everyone sees whatever they want to see. You, me, Calscot, Gazza. If you're any different you're not human. I've not been keeping track of individual posters, because I have better things to do, but I noticed a complete difference in the theme of the posts in the Lotte threads compared to Bochum. Lotte was all about fitness and the result didn't matter, then the Bochum thread was quite a sea change in tone. Sounds like feverish anticipation. I'm curious as to why it's taken you 3 days to have a look at it though.
  17. So you have nothing invested in either answer? You are actually nonplussed whether he is so open or whether he keeps quiet? Almost every manager in the press on SSN in the papers online blah blah has said something comparable. I don't think it makes any difference for a manager to say he needs players. All clubs need players.
  18. I'm not even sure what you're trying to say here. It seems a bit contradictory tbh.
  19. Why do I get the feeling that no matter what they said, you'll still see whatever it is you want to see? Ah, so this hypocrisy, flakiness, changeability of opinion and general lemming behaviour following Bochum is what happens in the real world eh
  20. I'm seeing a lot of criticism of Ally's regime so far - various aspects of it seem to be gathering more and more objections. I mean, your thread strongly suggests that you're not happy with him being so open, but you're trying to be fair and impartial and asking it as a neutral question. fwiw Walter said exactly the same thing when the players came back to Ibrox from Killie - which he would never have said while in charge. Which, frankly, he never did say while he was in charge. Ally's management style is polar opposite to Walter's - and he's going to be judged on that because Walter is what we're used to. Should he have said it? Well he's always been extremely open with the press - maybe too open. That was never going to change. But as I've always said, we complained when we weren't being communicated with by the club, and now we're getting everything. My personal opinion is it's good to know the manager recognises the problems we can see as fans. Often they don't. But the only way we'd ever realise he recognises these problems would be if he told us. Otherwise it's conjecture in the terraces, pubs, and forums like this.
  21. Haha, so I assume all the 'reactionary nonsense' I read about the Bochum result received similar condemnation from you as how we reacted to the Lotte result? Thought not. There wasn't a word condemning any of it. It's like you're in some parallel universe reading something completely different to what I'm seeing.
  22. RE: Miller. Still can't decide. We do need more strikers, and he was bloody great for us. But I dunno. I wouldn't say no, but I wouldn't jump up and down with glee at him coming back either.
  23. I don't agree with what's being said, whether it's by you or anyone else. In fact, I'm seeing plenty of posts from others slagging off our defence and saying it's a 'nightmare'. Maybe you should go and take issue with them. Or was this reply 'just because it was me who said it'?
  24. Ally himself said he wanted Jedinak - he said it on camera at Glasgow Airport but wasn't hopeful of bringing him here - said our chances were less than 50-50.
