Rangers are pushing Carlos Cuellar to make a decision about whether he is coming back to Ibrox from Aston Villa. (Various) Put simply, it appears to be up to the player. And it's up to him whether he turns out to have bullshitted for the second time or whether he's good to his word this time.

A friend of mine who supports Rangers but lives in the Linfield neck of the woods says if we don't thump them at least 3-0 there is something badly wrong.

If Carlos Cuellar leaves Villa only to join some Spanish side I may officially hate him. Once again a footballer will have lied to the press about something then done something completely different. Which is his right. But it's like Hemed - stop espousing the brilliance of a club only to join another one. Stop the bullshit.

No closed questionaire ever accurately reflects views. They are the crudest way to gain opinion. Only use they have is to accumulate a stat - but it's never an accurate one. Open ended questionaires (which is loosely kinda what a forum is) are much better, but you can't quantify them in any way.

I'm gonna put it out there: Yes, they're champions of Sweden, yes that league includes Gothenburg and AIK. But we will play far far better teams (should we make it) in the CL so to fail to beat this one would just be silly. We have far better players than they do, even if they've misfired during preseason.

�£1M for a player we paid over �£3M for plus 'Andre Bikey' is just a stupid bid. The kind we'd try ourselves. That said Bikey hasn't had the worst career - 19 caps for Cameroon, some Russian Premier League and EPL experience plus plenty championship experience. And he's a defender/right back.

2pm tomorrow I believe. Don't think there's any coverage of it bar the official site. Can't see much of a change in personnel given there's no real alternatives. Same lineup as has started the last 3 I'd imagine.

Interesting stat I have just been told. Don't know how true this is as I'm no accountant, but... Cuellar is currently on �£40k - the tax on high earners takes that down to 20k actual income. If he's offered �£25k at Ibrox, the same tax means he goes down to 12.5k. Which means a drop of 7.5k rather than the vast loss I originally thought. He might actually come.

Surely he knew that we're not rich before he stated how incredibly keen he was to return. And he'll know his wage here was obviously lower than his current. And yet he still wants to come back. Either he's not too bright or he's willing to take less. Or I'm just being really naive.

We'd probably offer him �£25k and hope his desire to rejoin is burning enough that the wage loss doesn't kill him. It's been mentioned that he never won the SPL while here. Perhaps he considers that unfinished business. After all, he will never win anything at Villa.

Calling Gattuso crap based on his displays last year does all the diddying I need without me needing to help you. You were wrong with the number of appearances you claimed Van Bommel had made. 'so I made sure people had the correct information'. Furthermore, if you were just acting in the good of the public service, you would have posted your supposed correction without acting like a tit in the process. Well you're wrong. Van Bommel signed in January so it was kinda obvious he couldn't have had, individually, many more appearances than Gattuso. So, Craig, consider this an unprecedented way to compare. Makes sense to me given all 3 basically do a similar job and rarely do even 2 of them appear at the same time.

I still say that someone found out Smith was in Italy and just put 2+2 togather to get 5. I simply do not believe that we're either INTERESTED in Gattuso or that he is INTERESTED in coming back. I'm tellin' ye, it's some unknown Tally 20 year old who plays for Lecce or something.
