  1. We have a good side who can perform against other good sides who play football. Our problem is that's not the bulk of the Scottish league. It has to be figured out how to deal with these hammer throwers.
  2. Don't think any tie would be any more lucrative than any other now. We will be looking at a minimum £2 million with prize money and gate included no matter who we get.
  3. Not just the Irish part, the sheep part too. "Braga are pish" and to explain why they're recently beating Porto and Benfica here is the sheep explanation. Sheep would obviously romp that league. Right? ?
  4. I wont be giving it up till the math dictates either though there isn't a great deal of breathing space now. Win the game in hand the gap is 9 points beat them twice and the gap is 3. Of course that's dependent on us winning every game from here on in and looking for them to drop points which I feel they're due to. Being realistic it's unlikely but then coming back against Braga was unlikely. I live in hope more than expectation but the hope isn't entirely unrealistic.

  6. I'm suspecting this boy may be at his third club in a little over a year by the start of next season. Incredible statistics everywhere he has played. He was at Red Bull for a season prior to moving to Dortmund and hit 17 goals in 16 games for RB. That's the kind of potential we need to be scouring the continent for among 16/17 year olds. Chances are he will soon be in the EPL. Top end. Liverpool/Man Utd etc.
  7. I'm hoping they just don't win against Rangers. A result comparable to the away game at Porto would be desirable. I think we will score over there because they play an open game and we have quality enough to capitalise on that. Thing is they do too. They're a potent attacking force.
  8. Might also be the case that such quality is only rarely available within our price range. Hagi is a steal at the price and I expect that in the long run we're going to effectively be having him for free. He will be moved on for a much higher fee in a few years. A fee potentially high enough to cover not just the transfer fee payed for him but all the wages spent on him too. And still make a profit overall. If we could consistently do that with an entire squad or a fair part of it we would be in a very good place indeed.
  9. I thought it was over at 2-0 and saw no way back into it. In saying that I wouldn't have left with 30 minutes remaining. Braga were clearly in the ascendancy that first hour yet Rangers had still created multiple chances and should have had at least one goal. As for Hagi he's clearly a game changer. Hoping the price for him was settled when the loan deal with option to buy was signed. Can only see him getting even better which could encourage Genk to squeeze us if the price hasn't already been agreed. The two footed nature of his talent is astounding and will get him a lot of goals. How many times is a good chance lost as a player takes a touch or even two to get the ball on to a favoured foot? He can just go for it no matter how it falls to him. Saw him score two penalties for Genk in a single game. Took each penalty with a different foot.
  10. Gerrard says he saw people leaving at 2-0. Geeze who would want to be that guy after what happened.
  11. So we have Aribo playing at left back, defending well and still joining in the attack to score a spectacular goal. Is there any position this boy can't play? Maybe we should try him out in goal if McGregor is ever unavailable.
  12. Hope the reported buy option on Hagi is a settled price and now non negotiable. He just increased his value and Aribo did his no harm either.
  13. Un#%*%#*believable. At 2-0 down I was almost too despondent to keep watching. Glad I did now.
  14. Some are suggesting they could be demoted to league 2. Man City facing points deduction — and could be forced to play in League Two
  15. Makes the EPL a little more interesting as a scrap to take the vacated CL spot heats up.
  16. It wont even have crossed the mind of the board to remove Gerrard nor mine for that matter. It's not a consideration on any level. Even if it were is it understood how much that would cost? Gerrard is contracted till 31st May 2024 and is on a reported £2 million a year. Pay 8 million to terminate his contract then what? We were laughed at for hiring him but firing him at this stage would be an even bigger joke.
  17. Watching that again and thought would it even be possible in a typical Rangers game. How far would he get before he was taken out by some hammer thrower.
  18. Hoping Kent may prove capable of a run like this.
  19. I'm not so concerned about this one as I was about the last. There's a reason they're bottom of the league and that reason is they're crap. This time we will have Tav back returning the attacking balance to the side plus Alfie up front. If Kilmarnock can go there and beat them which they did less than a week ago you can be confident we will too. The worries abut this game centre around not how good they are but how bad we have been against them recently. Even in that last game they were a degree fortunate. Their luck wont last.
  20. Braga currently lying 4th in their league. Drew 2-2 at home yesterday to 12th placed Gil Vicente. They're 16 points behind Porto who are in 2nd.
