I don't think he is necessarily saying that there will be no investment. I highly doubt he is depending on Auchenhowie to strengthen the team to the required level over the next few years. The only long term solution to our future ambitions isn't Auchenhowie it's getting out of this league which given the TV/money reality of modern professional football isn't an unlikely prospect down the line. The TV moguls can buy anything their billions desire. It all fell apart for us 20 or so years ago when there was a double hammer blow with both blows falling around the same time. We had the Bosman ruling in 1995 which forever and seismically changed the face of the game and around that same time the sky TV behemoth began pouring rivers of money into the favoured location and it goes without saying that Scotland wasn't that location. Gascoigne also joined us that same year of the Bosman ruling and the beginning of the sky cash cow kicking in down South and I remember some commentator or other saying at the time that Paul Gascoigne would be the last big English international to come to Scotland. I didn't take much heed of the comment at the time but with hindsight it was prophetic. The only way out of this mediocrity is to get out of this less than mediocre league. I now wish we had applied to get into a lower tier of the English setup in 2012 though admittedly I wasn't so keen on that idea at the time. Events of the past 5 years and events on an almost weekly basis right now have turned me against the whole Scottish setup maybe irrevocably. I would love to just get out and give the whole poison clan what they claim to want. Let them stew in their own bile and become even more mediocre in a league with no Rangers in it. See where that gets them. We don't need them, but one real and never to be openly admitted source of their spite is that they need us and they know it. And apparently they hate us for it. It's like hating a sugar daddy who brings you nothing but goodies.

Only Leicester now have longer odds than Barca to win it outright. Bayern Munich 11/4 Juventus 3/1 Atletico Madrid 5/1 Real Madrid 5/1 Borussia Dortmund 7/1 Monaco 16/1 Barcelona 18/1 Leicester 33/1

And he still has to clean his boots himself. LOL Take a look at the activities on the track behind Miller.
-
Aside from the composure he showed when taking his goal I was just as impressed by his assist for Millers second. He took just a fleeting glance up and instantly deduced he should send it into the path of Miller which he did with exquisite accuracy and perfect strength on it. Throw in his shot off the bar and it's a man of the match performance in what amounted to a relatively brief almost cameo appearance.

I'm still baffled that anybody seriously proposed/proposes that this sheep crew are anything like a solid second force in Scotland. Granted they might have been when we weren't there but now we're back despite the hiccups of this season in which we consistently misfired we have still met them 3 times so far and outplayed them on each occasion. They totally stole a result in the first meeting and just didn't get so freakishly lucky again. I would be content with a third place finish that accompanied another thrashing of these hammer throwers at Ibrox to firmly remind them where their real place in the order of things is. During our enforced absence they seem to have forgotten it.

I seriously doubt he would have failed to turn up if he had known he was to be there. Putting aside any complaints about his quality or otherwise I think he is still a fully dedicated professional. There must have been crossed wires.
-
If it were anybody else but Barca you would probably think game over. But given they were beaten by 4-0 in the first leg of the last round and still went through who knows.

Some opposition followers are really good at predicting scorelines. From a sheep forum, the very first post on their thread about Sundays match. But not so good at predicting goal scorers. From the same post.

POWDERPUFF Rangers star Joe Garner is a poor excuse for a football hardman
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Just noticed that immediately prior to Millers first goal when Waghorns attempt had been parried by the goalkeeper that Waghorn looked as if he was thinking about staying down and maybe throwing in some theatrics to see if he could get something from the ref. Then Millers strike hits the net and Waghorn bounces straight up and sprints off to join the celebration. This is professional football, our players are no worse than any others but they do get more attention than any others from the faux Scottish sports media. Attention amounting to personal abuse at times. -

No one can equate Garner the man to Garner the player trying to draw the attention of the referee to a situation which in my view should have been a red card. Calling him a coward for trying to gain an advantage for his team from a situation that was indeed a red card scenario is way over the top and outside what should be expected from a sports journalist. He was indisputably deliberately head butted and that's violent conduct under any interpretation of the rules. Was it enough to cause severe injury? No but the rules don't require that. Take a look at it. Can see it early in this clip. -

Easy solution if he's so tormented. Collar Garner and tell him to his face what a pussy he is. -
What's that 4 games under Pedro now? In which we hit 9 goals for an average of 2.25 per game. If that had been the average over the season we would be sitting on 72 goals for instead of the 46 we actually have and would be just 13 goals behind the mhanks total. If he could maintain that and tighten up the defence in the transfer window we're moving into a much better place.
-
Prefer they would thrash the sheep and we steal second spot. Then who would look stupid after sitting on a 12 point lead with just 7 games remaining. And in addition I would prefer we take that unbeaten run from them.
-
In some ways it doesn't surprise me. We create so many chances that aren't taken that it all has to click sometime.
-
Yep. They could even field a third string under the pretence of blooding youngsters while having nothing to play for which though that be true would they field a third string against us with nothing to play for?
-
Yeah I agree with that. It came on a difficult trajectory and I think he did indeed expect the defender to get some sort of touch on it. Had a fraction of a second to position himself and there is always the chance of getting under it in such circumstances and in fact even better circumstances than that. How many times do we see it blazed high even when they have a first touch to line it up.
-
Makes you wonder how they will approach their game with the sheep if we're closing in on them.
-
I was concerned during that period but unlike earlier in the season when I was cringing at every opposition foray into range of our goal today I actually felt more comfortable from the view that they appeared to be handling it. The defence appeared functional and big Wes was outstanding. He kept us in it more than once.
-
That rapid triple punch was far more painful to them than if we had even gone in 2-0 up at halftime then added a third. It couldn't have worked out much better as a sickening body blow to both them and their grunting crowd.
-
I think/hope St Johnstone can take them as can we at Ibrox and so can the mhanks.
-
You know I hope this initiates a sheep implosion while we continue in this vein. Things are looking far different if they lose at St Johnstone next week while we win. They still have to come to Ibrox and face the unmentionables.
-
It' s so nice to be so far ahead i'm not biting my nails wishing for the final whistle.
-
Dodoo took his goal almost casually. Good sign.

Dunno whether to laugh or cry. LOL
