  1. I would expect Gladbach to look for more because they're in with a chance of second spot but their GD is a shade behind that of City by 2 goals as it stands.
  2. How disappointing it must be that UEFA isn't quite as crazy as they are. No one else partaking in their fantasy reality. I'm presuming the mention of "at times risking their own safety" comment to mean the risk of being a laughing stock.
  3. Chalk up 13 goals and counting conceded in 4 matches.
  4. I'm obviously not condoning either instance i'm giving a personal opinion of how I feel about being caught up in either instance. Having experienced a situation where a rain of coins was incoming I have a greater fear of it than I do a seat which likely wont come as a barrage of seats and I would feel more confident of seeing a seat and fending it off so to speak. When you have a coin barrage coming in you instinctively tend to look away from fear of getting one in the eye.
  5. I don't see how FIFA feel they are entitled to pull this crap when it has significance for both sides and is simply a memorial for the war dead of both sides aimed at no one. Do they want to ban national anthems too? National flags?
  6. I agree but at the same time I feel a coin though smaller can be a more insidious object to throw. The seat could be seen coming a coin comes out of nowhere and can cause significant injury.
  7. Seems the Monchengladbach fans have embraced the illiteracy of ra sellick after this. They have been snapping up thousands of these scarves for tonights match.
  8. I will take a game against almost anybody and in fact I wish it were more games especially if we're on a run at the time. Break even or even a financial loss is acceptable to me to keep things ticking over and maintain match fitness and sharpness. Three weeks with no games is way too much and even just one in 3 weeks is pushing it. I always felt as if we suffered from that in SC final.
  9. Don't think I would either when it got me dropped for the very next match as it did him. It was a glaring mistake that cost us two points at a time we were desperate to register a win. It was so bad it had to be truly embarrassing having the ball taken from him in that fashion then a goal is scored from it to put us one down. It couldn't get any worse.
  10. Jealousy I expect and maybe a bit of bias against teams from the former GDR. In some ways they're no more of an artificial entity than Chelsea and Man City who were bankrolled to prominence by billionaires without which they would be at nothing like the level they currently are. Man City no title wins since 1968 before billionaire bankrolling while Chelsea had none since 1955 before Abramovich.
  11. I think the woman who was hit by a coin would disagree.
  12. Conceded just 1 goal in the past 4 matches and that was a brain fart by Hodson against St Johnstone which should never have happened. I'm still irritated every time I think of it.
  13. Obviously we all hope you're right and might it be significant that Kilmarnock came to us in confident mood on the back of a 3 match unbeaten run in which they had defeated two of the top half in St Johnstone and Hearts? And they weren't just beaten they were annihilated and were lucky to get out of it at just 3-0. We absolutely must maintain this by giving Ross County a hammering next week. Motherwell just thrashed them 4-1 so we can easily do something similar with the same type of display pinning them back from the off. If we can do that then comfortably dispose of Dundee the following week I will feel we have turned a corner at last. The performances were regualrly there for at least a half the ball just wasn't going in the net.
  14. It has to be embarrassing for him that they published this mindless rant little more than an hour after Kilmarnock had been demolished and Rangers were sitting in second place. Visions of Provan frantically texting trying to get them to halt it. He got one thing right though, we haven't been playing as we should largely due to failing in front of goal given the dominance and abundance of chances we habitually create yet are still in second spot. Wonder if that suggests anything in the mind of Provan about what the table will look like when we start clicking consistently. And how bad do the sheep need to be before they get the same level of criticism? Will Keith Jackson be tearing them to shreds for failing to get a minimum second spot since he claims they are the second best in Scotland?
  15. ASHLEY is also targeting Dave King once more after a previous failed attempt on a contempt of court charge. MIKE ASHLEY’S long running war with Rangers is set to explode into the courtroom again with the Sports Direct tycoon attempting to sue the club for up to £1m. Ashley is also turning his guns back on Ibrox chairman Dave King and director Paul Murray who are also named in the action which has been lodged at the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice. The move comes almost exactly a year after Ashley tried and failed to have King jailed over Christmas on a charge of contempt of court. And, with the latest hearing scheduled to take place in London over the first two days of December 1 and 2, Rangers have moved in the meantime to have Ashley’s stores barred from selling the club’s own strips. The dispute centres around King’s decision to rip up a notorious retail deal handed to Ashley’s empire by former Rangers chief executive Charles Green. While the club are furious that Ashley continues to flog shirts and official merchandise, the Newcastle owner is enraged by King’s attempts to escape from the onerous deal without serving a seven year notice period. Details of the latest legal battle were included in the club’s annual accounts which were published late on Friday evening. Under section 31, entitled ‘Contingent Liabilities and Assets’ the report reveals that Sports Direct hope to be given the go-ahead to pursue Rangers, King and Murray for damages at the High Court. It says: “No value has been placed on that claim. The club will resist any such claim and in any event believes it would not exceed £1m.” http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-battle-mike-ashley-rages-9159220
  16. Will it buy them a home win against a German team sitting 11th in a league of 18 with zero away wins in their league or a win away to taxi drivers of Gibraltar FC?
  17. The most significant thing about Boyd on Saturday was the respectful welcome he got from our crowd when he came on despite the fact the last time we played them he was instrumental in robbing us of two points. Contrast that to the abuse Kenny Miller gets at two clubs who shall remain nameless he previously played for.
  18. I don't know if Provan truly is a witless wonder or if what these rags require of people is simply to be as odious as possible but it's becoming more than obvious that it doesn't matter what the manager does he will get this abuse. We hammer Kilmarnock 3-0 going on 6-0 and that's a Kilmarnock who have just had a 3 game unbeaten run in which they defeated both St Johnstone and Hearts and this is how Provan responds? Where has Provan been for the past 18 months? Mark Warburton has been using that term since day one even before a ball was kicked back when he first signed and has continued to use it. And unlike Provan everyone else understood that in the circumstances it perfectly fitted a unique situation for the club and the manager has continued using that term all through the halcyon days of last season and the opening 11 league games which saw us register 11 straight wins and effectively almost secure that league in the first quarter. Was he "buying time" in that period Davie? Results pick up sharpish? As far as I can see this was published little more than an hour after the Kilmarnock match and at this stage Provan thinks results "need to "pick up sharpish" for a team sitting second in the league? You mean where they're sitting right now Davie even after a period of not killing teams off after dominating? The Joey Barton saga is out of the managers hands in the circumstances and since we have people around here who take a great deal more interest in the activities at Rangers than Davie Provan ever has and they don't know the details of who, how, or why Barton was signed i'm more than sure Provan doesn't know either and seems to be in an anti Warburton crusade along with Keith Jackson. Actually he's not 'odds against' Davie, he's currently evens at best and odds on with some bookmakers to finish second and I suspect the aforementioned Joey Barton would take Davies odds in a flash. I get the feeling that Provan may have written this pile of waffle before Saturdays game despite the fact it was published after it which may be making him feel like a real arse right now but surely he had the IQ to figure out Rangers could mathematically go second on Saturday? And one more quote. I'm sure they would but do any of us seriously think that long ball McInnes and beaten at home by Maltese minnows Neilson would be superior to Mark Warburton? Because that's very possibly exactly the type of thing you will get if these yahoos managed to separate us from a manager being touted for jobs in England all the time. Anyone see the English forming a line to squabble over Derek McInnes and Robbie Neilson? No you don't it's our manager all the interest is being shown in and we need to get behind him as he continues with the 'project' Provan so clearly has issues with for reasons unknown. Actually some may argue the reasons are known but that's another topic.
  19. And incidentally after having just watched it again on the Russian Rangers highlights video this could easily have been 6-0 Among other things so many balls across the face of the Kilmarnock goal that only needed a toe on it to be in the net. Someone is due a monstrous drubbing. O'Halloran unplayable at times and others showing signs of beginning to find their stride. I don't think Windass is even fully fit yet.
  20. It was also interesting that Marco Negri on his first visit back to Ibrox since leaving the club was so touched by the minutes silence for our war dead that he felt compelled to say after the gun that ended it "marvelous, it makes me want to get into the dressing room and put my boots on" That's from a non British Catholic while we have large factions out there who were born in this country who would show no such respect.
  21. They simply want to maintain the narrative that meltdown is just around the corner. That's absurd but it filters down to the grunt element and you will see it on the forums of the obsessed every time we make a signing. Somehow a club with 40K season ticket holders can't afford to sign anybody.
  22. I sometimes get the feeling the likes of him do this kind of thing simply for the back slapping it garners from like minded morons. As far as i'm concerned if the club say wear a poppy then for the day it's part of the club colours and you're effectively refusing to wear the strip if you pull a stunt like this. I wonder if the English press report disrespect like this as I notice this is from the record. There is concern about muslims not integrating and not pledging allegiance to the parent country while claiming allegiance to foreign countries/ideologies and even terrorist groups such as isis and to me this is in the same vein.
  23. The EPL clubs pay each other money like that for players simply because they have to. Everybody is so cash rich if they have something you want you need to make then an offer they can't refuse so to speak. Ra sellick would give them the entire team for less than that.
  24. Send the bill to Barton, he could cover it with his gambling profits or alternatively fine him 3 months wages and tell him all is forgiven.
