  1. I feel that the negative reaction to the Old Firm thing comes about from the game played out. Before the game I thought it was just having a laugh at Celtic's expense. Had the result gone our way, we would now be on a high and little attention would be being paid to this.

As it turned out, we're all feeling low and many are looking for someone to blame, both on and off the pitch. I can understand why this was done. High exposure on TV. Everyone sees Old Firm. Celtic fans annoyed. Just part of the pre match pantomime that this game attracts. Side shows like this become associated with the result, so I'll be surprised if we see this again.

I’d have thought the SPFL would have had to pay for it from their commercial revenues.
    Meaning less money for clubs.

I agree that the SPFL will pay. How they then reduce the payments they make to clubs is open for debate. Will they simply charge all clubs the same or will it be a percentage of what they would have got?  To get the majority of clubs onboard, I imagine they will go down the percentage route, or at least a sliding scale so that the big boys pay more in monetary terms.

Exactly this. Bisgrove is as much a Rangers man as any other random person. He is a commercial/marketing professional and probably a good one.

He may be a good commercial professional, but he sure is not a diplomat.

  4. It was a hard watch, not that we were under much threat but you always feared that the defence would do something daft and let them in.

I'm sure Gio will feel vindicated in his team selection  and lack of substitutes. There was no need to chase the game, so why disrupt what they had.

Luckily we got an early goal and then our plan seemed to be - contain their play and if we get another goal, all well and good. If not, stopping them score will be enough.

I thought Morelos was the only one who had some spark. Often he was isolated but when he had others team mates around him, he was laying the ball off well.

The pitch was dreadful. Never seen so many headed balls in midfield.

  5. I thought it was foolish of Ange talking of winning the Conference League before they had even played a game in it. After all, while Celtic dropped down from the bigger boys league, so did another 7 teams, so why they thought they were better than everyone else defies logic. Ange has been around enough to know you don't make daft predictions like that because it's likely that it will come back to bite you. Ange is not daft but maybe it's expected from the fans that they bum themselves up and Ange has gone along with this.

As an aside, I see that of the teams dropping into the Conference play off, only 3 of them won the tie, so maybe Celtic were not alone in underestimating the opposition. In the Europa League, Rangers were 1 of 3 who defeated Champions League drop outs.
