What are/were the Team 2 meetings? The current Trust board only has 16 people (with at least one on a sabbatical) so it's a shame they can't get it filled. Given the current situation with the club, the fans really need a strong Trust/Assembly but I guess the Working Group is the current driving force for the support.

I don't see why bears can't respect each other's views when it comes to representation. Sure, by all means disagree, but let's do so in a way that we can retain a bit of objectivity.

Steady on. I think most of us have at some time been members of the Trust - or indeed did a lot of hard work on the board. Unfortunately, there will be even more who haven't been a member or perhaps disagree with some of the Trust's work over the years. I don't think it's fair to suggest that just because people may oppose the RST, they're a 'ranting mass' which should be ignored. FWIW, although I've had my own differences with the RST in the (now thankfully distant) past, I've never held back from saying the support need a strong Trust (and Assembly) - while also being critical where appropriate. To that end, myself and this site have retained a constructive relationship with the various supporters groups and club officials. I think everyone understands occasional disagreement is healthy - more so if it's kept constructive which I know the people on this site largely strive to do. That's why the new working group has been pretty successful over the last few months and, as BD says, it has gone some way to repairing some relationships which had broken down over recent times.

Billy Dodds backs Rangers enforcer Maurice Edu to star in derby clash

I agree which is why I hope to see Jelavic, Lafferty and Naismith all play. Add in Davis, McKay and Edu then that's as attacking a team as you can get - tempered by the majority of those players being able to work hard and play deep when appropriate. -

To be fair, while I'd like to see us take the game to Celtic, their main strength lies in midfield so it is important to negate their influence there. As such, I'd be happy with the five mentioned above but would prefer McKay to play instead of McCulloch. -
I do agree but hopefully some of those responsible for certain dubious business practices are made to pay somehow if our club loses out down the line.

Ever wondered how accurate Rangers transfer rumours are - find out more here: http://bit.ly/ob9338 The Herald have the highest %age correct while the People have the least...

The problem I have is that if Whyte can suddenly change his intentions of investing £5million per annum transfer funds into £7million budget decreases, then where does that leave his promise of waiving said debt if we win the larger tax case?

I'd fancy it will be a five man midfield with Lafferty and Naismith supporting Jelavic from deep. That means a central three of Davis, Edu and probably McCulloch (though McKay may well be considered). -
Cool - hopefully the Assembly will report back soon.

Billy Dodds can eat my shorts. -
Misprint I'd fancy. The Trust membership must be very small nowadays given they don't seem to actively look for new members. Onto the actual comments, they seem fair enough to me. I believe CW is scheduled to meet with the Assembly but this has been delayed once or twice. Hopefully this will happen soon.

I think HMRc are attempting to change the law so they can go after directors.

Unfortunately, I'll miss the game as I'll be supporting the wife as she does the Great North Run for the Royal Sick Kids' Edinburgh.... Hoping to catch it on TV in South Shields but we'll see how quickly she finishes...

One final word of advice from m'learned friends: company administrations are best when they're planned, and the outcome determined in advance. With every passing day, this seems the likely outcome.

Still not sure where he gets the £5million net spend from.

He spoke well enough but I don't think we know any more than we did before.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse

Dreadful referee - truly awful! -
Rangers retain top spot in the SPL table ahead of next week's first Old Firm clash of the season. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=442:dundee-utd-0-1-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sn: Thought the wee man was once again the player who made us tick and his threat created space for others to benefit from. Kirk Broadfoot narrowly missed out - thought he was excellent.

Apologies for the delay in restoring some of the functionality. We want to ensure everything is working properly before applying the mods/code changes again. Hopefully we'll get it done this week depending on Barry and I's workload.

But we had the groan button especially for you Danny?

Can't believe Spiers is comparing our fiscal challenges with a disaster that killed dozens of people. Talk about crass.

Jelavic confirmed as OUT of tomorrow's game. McCoist hopeful he'll return for the Celtic match next week.

http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/rangers/269582-rangers-take-argentinian-winger-on-trial/ As a free agent, Abelairas is eligible to sign for any club outwith the transfer window. The player holds an Italian passport and would not require a work permit to sign for Rangers. The 26-year-old returned to action in January, following a seven-month lay-off due to a knee cruciate ligament injury. Abelairas spent seven years with River Plate, winning the Clausura twice, before leaving the club. He was expected to join Deportes Iquique in August this year, having left Los Millonarios in June. Villarreal purchased 50% of Abelairas' rights in 2008, one of six River Plate players acquired by the Spanish club. He was also linked with a loan move to MLS side Seattle Sounders in 2010, having seen him during a pre-season tour to Argentina. Abelairas and former team-mate Josepmir Ballon pursued River for unpaid wages after being released in the summer.
