  1. Nah, as a footballer per se, his touch and skill can be inconsistent but when he's confident and playing well he's a handy player to have around - as the last 2 games have proved. He's also shown some nice grit and determination to get back into the team by working hard and believing in himself.
  2. FT: Can't disagree with that, but I'm of the opinion that we're not winning by boycotting phone-ins and that Cameron can still be used to our advantage. If Davie can get on there, it means some of the issues we want to see/hear in the public domain will get air-time. If we don't take part then not only we will lose the chance of that but we'll just have another Snyde on our hands. Sometimes one has to get their hands dirty to get the work done.
  3. I'd argue Scott Brown's physical presence and 'in your face' attitude is exactly what we need in the current team.
  4. That's exactly what he'll do I reckon...
  5. David Edgar is going to be on RR this week (possibly tonight) as a studio guest. I'm sure he'll raise that very subject...
  6. Spot on del... It's interesting to compare the media coverage of last season and this. IMO, it's quite simple: The media didn't want Eck to leave because they knew his limitatations. This time, they want PLG to go because they know his capabilities.
  7. Have edited the post to align with the analysis on the main site.
  8. He's improved a lot in the last couple of games but if the price was right I would sell. Especially if we could replace him with Scott Brown.
  9. The one St Mirren recieved yesterday and the one we got against Hearts last season (when Soti was pushed by Lee Miller). Both were dubious and soft and I'm simply comparing the coverage of the 2.
  10. Haha - you must be joking... Firstly, how does today's Daily Record - which struggles to mention yesterday's disgraceful 'penalty' award to St Mirren - compare with early last year when we got a similar supposedly dubious penalty against Hearts? Let me refresh your memory: Daily Record - March 4th 2005 Front Page: Small section on bottom left hand side; Back page: 9-page sports special on 'that' penalty. Back page: THAT WAS NEVER A PENALTY - Exclusive by Keith Jackson Pages 86 and 87: Another Exclusive by Keith Jackson - The Great referees debate - Were officials correct to give Gers that spot kick - Yes says Refs Chief Don McVicar - No says Hearts' Lee Miller Pages 84 and 85: By David McCarthy - Is there a conspiracy in favour of Rangers? Yes says Paulo Di Canio - No says Lorenzo Amoruso. Jim Traynor - If Gers win title, linesman Andy deserves medal. Pages 82 and 83: I took United to Parkhead and linesman went home on Celtic Supporters' bus - Jim McLean. Page 81: Hotline special - Official has crossed the line with his 'corrupt' call. Quote of the week: 'What happened was corruption. Our game is rotten from top to bottom and there should be an SFA inquiry' - Eddie Fenwick from Dunfermline wins a bottle of whisky for that quote. Page 80: Quote from George Foulkes - 'Even the Rangers players did not claim for the penalty, and in the boardroom Rangers directors seemed embarassed by their luck'. BTW, just in case anyone forgot, Lee Miller was quoted a few days later as saying "9 out of 10 times you get away with it". Strange that if he never did anything wrong? Today's second example of media lies comes from one of the usual sources - Graham Spiers. He might be on his way out of the Herald View (and it does seem as if his replacement, supposed 'Rangers man' Darryl Broadfoot, might be after his crown of imbalance) but bold old Graham doesn't let us down with his unique brand of 'insight' amongst the usual padding. He suggests in today's online Herald that: "The Rangers fans yesterday chanted captain Barry Ferguson's name, and quite rightly, as their leader's contribution was magnificent on the field. But such choral approval has so far eluded Le Guen himself. It is rare for a Rangers manager not to be serenaded from the stands, yet there remains anxiety and even perplexity over where the Frenchman is taking the team." What absolute and utter tosh. Now Ferguson was lauded and he did have a good game but he was far from the only person to receive fan acclaim either yesterday or before. Indeed, yesterday and in almost every game I've been at this season, we (the TBO) have sung the "Allez, Allez PLG" and the PLG "Vindaloo" songs loudly and proudly while almost every Rangers fan I know is prepared to back the new manager and give him the time and support he needs to turn around our fortunes. Has Mr Spiers' hearing suddenly become selectively bad again or maybe he's just been at too many games outwith the SPL? After all it can't be easy travelling to second rate matches while a younger lad takes over your position slowly but surely? Same goes for his sudden disappearance from the golf pages - no trip to Augusta or the K-Club for poor, wee Graham! A man whose corduroy jacket and pink scarf are on a very shoogly nail. Perhaps Darryl Broadfoot might want to view this fall from grace very carefully as he writes another match report which doesn't mention the dubiousness of the penalty award? Two such soft and downright laughable awards in as many matches - yet 'bluenose' Broadfoot chooses to blame Julian Rodriguez? More of the same objectivity Darryl and you'll soon be the Celtic fan's journalist of the year! Fellow bears, I urge you to not buy these newspapers and stay away from any other outlet which utilises such liars. Every Scottish football fan deserves better and its at times like these that it once again shows just how ineffective and impotent our chairman has become. By highlighting and not subscribing to such nonsense we will have improvement. Keep up the good fight. We are the people!
  11. It will most probably be at the Copland House (up the set of stairs in the middle of the Copland Stand). I will confirm next week.
  12. We'll be having at least one evening session as well but that's to be confirmed. I'll let everyone know on Monday or Tuesday about that.
  13. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/news/2006/201006.html 20 October 2006 The RST Needs You! Help Needed at Ibrox Next Week! Win Hospitality Tickets! As part of our ongoing 'GerSave' promotion we will be attaching a 'GerSave' booklet to every seat in Ibrox for the Motherwell game next Saturday 28th October. As such will be looking for as much assistance as possible to help make this happen. We will be looking for people to come into Ibrox at 10am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning next week and help ensure each seat in the stadium will have a booklet. Each day we'll be allowed in the stadium until 5pm so helpers are welcome at any time between then. This will be a pivotal moment in launching Gersave awareness and thus the Trusts' existence. Therefore we are looking for everyone to help out wherever possible. Even if you are only able to help out for a couple of hours, every little bit helps and would be greatly appreciated. If you turn up and help on the set-up times you will automatically be entered into a special raffle. This will give 2 people the chance to win individual hospitality packages for a future game. This is your opportunity not only to help out the Trust but to enjoy an important SPL match in 5* comfort. To find out more please email joanne@rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk or contact us through the site form. More news early next week about this vital initiative.
  14. Makes some reasonable points and there's no doubt we need to start backing the team in this difficult period. Can't agree thought with what he says about Murray not wanting the club to be a rich man's plaything. That's what it's been in some ways over the last 20 years and Murray will sell the club to the highest bidder - which isn't necessarily the best man for the job.
  15. You have it in a nutshell mate. It's not a Trust responsibility to comment on such matters but one of either RSA to do so.
  16. Although I see what you're saying Gribz (and agree to an extent), it's not usual Trust policy to comment on playing matters at the club as it isn't really in our remit.
  17. Thanks for the praise mate. Davie Edgar was on 5 Live and Radio Scotland yesterday standing up for the fans once again. May I just clarify though that it wasn't the Assembly rep that was quoted in the press but the Rangers Supporters' Assocation chief. Don't blame you for being confused though as the organisations do have the same initials...
  18. Good points as usual Gribz and despite the vocal criticism from some fans, I think the majority of the support do back the manager. Maybe what you suggest about public backing might be a good idea in the near future - especially if we don't get a good result tonight.
  19. I hoped someone would say that. It was my point exactly.
  20. Easy option: Criticise everyone at the club; boo players; ask for the manager to be sacked; moan at fellow supporters; ignore initiatives from the various fan groups. Hard option: Accept honest mistakes; support the new players; constructively criticise the tactics; stand together as one support; look for ways to improve the fan/club relationship; take part in positive ventures. This season has not begun as well as many of us had hoped. Despite some positive signs early on, we're as far behind as we've ever been and the same problems exist on and off the park. As such, we're all unhappy and I think because of that frustration are taking it out on each other instead of concentrating our energies on solving the problems. Yes, the new manager has made mistakes. Yes, the players (new and old) have been disappointing. Of course, the board of directors are still ignorant or unwilling to pacify our concerns. These are all genuine and valid complaints and should be discussed and not ignored. However, no manager in the world could expect to turn things around so quickly - not PLG, not SAF, not Capello - no-one! Especially when up against teams that have consistency in selection and organisation. Therefore, I urge us all to take a step back from over-reaction and support the team through this terrible spell. We have another hard game tonight and we might not get the result we want. But we have another hard game on Sunday and we need to win that just as much, so can't afford another 3 days of OTT criticism and squabbling. That doesn't help anyone but the enemies we should be fighting. We've all seen that over the last week. We are the people - lets' start living up to that motto!
  21. When we're paying a guy £38K per week, they are not going to say he's winding down his career and isn't interested - that is the case unfortunately. I might be wrong but the guy told me the information is pretty reliable and going by Klos's attitude over the last 18months (and when he fell out of faour at Dortmund) I think it's believable enough.
  22. Klos is retiring in the summer and moving to Switzerland so won't play much (if any) part in the rest of the season. He refused any contract termination so I'm led to believe.
  23. Ricksen would not improve our team one iota.
  24. juffrey: Bardsley should have been sent off on Saturday for a kick off the ball and with what has been rumoured RE: training then he certainly has a discipline problem. The fact remains in the few games he's played this season Hutton has been just as good, if not better than Bardsley over the piece.
  25. Here's me thinking Ricksen had questionable loyalty, awful positioning, poor discipline, was inconsistent, contributed to a terrible domestic season and was overall a very average player - now people want him back? Same goes for Lovenkrands, Soti, Andrews or any player of recent years. I know we're doing badly at the moment and sure the existing guys have hardly been superb but let's look forward not back at players who were epitomy of inconsistency and underachievement.
